Did you load or remove any other mods? When you save a game, ArmA stores the state of the mods too. When you add or remove mods, it creates instability and ArmA won't run as well as before. Have you added or removed any mods (other than M3mory)? It's also for these reasons that I wouldn't expect the M3mory mod to do anything. As it says on its workshop page "In order to work, m3mory has to be loaded the first time a mission is started : it cannot be used on already existing saves." I don't know what VGA is in this context. Can you explain?

This is some truly impressive work. I would never have thought of this, yet you've already taken it so far. I'll look forward to seeing more. Wow.

Well, I've just learned something. I shall have to try out Steam CMD. I'll just briefly add that the wiki always has the latest Ravage version available from Mega and Google Drive.

Hold on and wait for Haleks to take a look at this. It would seem a recently update to ArmA has caused this. Rather than trying to do something right now, it's best to see what Haleks says because it might be necessary to make a small change to Ravage. Trying to change it in code from your end might result in something that gets broken by a possible Ravage update. It's entirely possible that there is a straightforward fix for this, but wait-and-see is the best approach for the moment. EO was just confirming the problem, not suggesting a fix.

Goodness, I just discovered there's a Ravage comic. It's called Ashes, Ashes (which was the title of the René Barjavel Ravage book in English). It's actually a translation of the French comic Ravage, by Jean-David Morvan (whose Madeleine, résistante I have very much enjoyed). For French speakers, the Ravage comic was published in 2016 and is no doubt available in TPB/hardback. For les Anglais, it's currently on issue 4 (I don't know how many issues there will be) from Magnetic Press.

I guarantee people are really interested. You could make it Tony the Tiger from Frosties and we'd love you forever.

It's always an intractable situation. I remember back when the DayZ mod allowed private hive servers. Almost all of them made loot more plentiful and vehicles commonplace. I realise that's what a lot of people wanted - but for me, I liked the challenge. I remember once fixing the (only) helicopter on a public server. I found it wrecked and it took me eight very real hours of hunting for and shuttling back and forth with parts to get it fixed. A lot of the time I couldn't even carry a weapon in order to preserve inventory space. I was looking over my shoulder the entire time in case others were waiting to pick me off when I'd finished my work. To me, that was a thoroughly enjoyable (well, maybe not 'enjoyable' at the time) challenge. To other people, that's an absolute turn-off - they wanted to get on a server where they could crash a helicopter and find another within a couple of minutes. Horses for courses...

Gosh, well done. I've certainly enjoyed playing your missions. I've just been playing Takistan Tour, which I loved for being something different. At it's core it's maybe not so far from the norm, but the frequent sandstorms change one's whole approach. And the back story, though minimal, gives it a milsim feel quite distinct from most other missions. I shall look forward to trying this new one... though I initially read it as Collecting Fathers, which would perhaps have been a little different.

I might just be able to do that. Ravage: Lost Set on Chernarus Redux (Chernarus from ArmA 2 with a lot of new stuff added). Base building is included (which people ask for all the time). Also with electrical storms - watch out for those and try to be indoors when they hit. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2446793856 Video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFZbE6GBRzY Kill Chapek Chernarus Redux. Not a survival mission as such. Your job is to move from area to area looking for this guy you need to kill. Interesting variation. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2426408303 Video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBgVvIJhBkw Ravage Chernarus : The Harbingers Chernarus Redux, though it's not very recognisable. Requires quite a powerul PC to run because there is so much added. Very high action, if that's what you're after https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1959297540 Video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23lx1hT-IOM The Burning Rain Probably the most worked-on Ravage mission yet. Set on Chernarus Redux. Added shipwrecks, bandit camps, animals, infection, traders, weather, special chemical zones. Tons of stuff to do. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1732659749 Video of it (though an earlier version of the mission) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9l9bo2SPpA Escape Chernarus Set on Chernarus Redux. Basically like the DayZ mod, but with the opportunity to escape and end the game. It's actually designed for multiplayer, so you have to run it as such, even if you're playing alone. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1852480917 Video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AF8emxSdnGQ

Absolutely with you on that. It's great as a single player mission, but it would be terrific fun in co-op or competitive multiplayer. Imagine a ten player version where it displays the running totals of everyone. And killing a competitor drops their score (perhaps giving you one of their meat). Hmm...

Ah, welcome to the wonderful world of ArmA. They don't have as many significant updates these days, but you can bet that, when they do, it'll be five minutes after you release a mission. I can't talk for others, but I didn't really bother with the zombie loot. I did look at the first few, but I was in a hurry and it was going to be easier to grab stuff from humans - they'd have a lot more things and it'd be more useful. And when I was up against the clock (I only play the one hour version), there was little point in fancy weapons. Sniping from a distance was less effective and a lot slower than screeching into the middle of things and blazing away. Even the more interesting guns I ignored. A 6.5mm was going to be powerful enough to kill a zombie in one shot anywhere on the body and I'd find enough ammo for it so I wouldn't have to worry. If I'd grabbed a 338 rifle, I'd need to carry another gun because it's terrible up-close and I'd run out of ammo. After a few games, that's the way things have stayed. And I've never even been to the trading post - I'd need to be playing a 2 or 4 hour game for that to make any sense for me. But that's the way I play. Other people may well have different approaches. I would welcome making it harder. More zombies and more NPC units at the encounters would be just fine. Three or four enemy fighters can be a challenge when there's a lot of cover and concealment. But if they're out in the open, I'm going to power through them pretty easily. And (although it may be difficult for my huge legions of obsessive YouTube fans to believe) I'm not particularly great at the game.

I played this and I think it is one of the best and most interesting Ravage missions yet. I normally can't stand time limits in games as they are usually there as an artificial level of difficulty - the authors didn't spend the time to make their mission difficult, so instead they push a time limit on the player. But in this case, the time limit is a genuine feature and a really clever thing to do. And it's great that there is a choice of time limit too - it forces the responsibility onto the player. Neat. The basic concept of the mission is simple - collect ten pieces of chicken meat by raiding various encampments. I could almost certainly do it if I had plenty of time to take things cautiously. But when I'm up against the clock, it changes the way I play. I was mentally keeping track of what to do: two chickens per encampment; five stops; twelve minutes to travel, clear an area and gut some chickens. I manage the first two ahead of schedule, so everything's going great. But then I can't find the chickens at my next stop and I have to move on leaving me behind the clock and in need of an extra stop. And then at another place, I only found one chicken meaning I need another extra stop. My schedule is out the window and I'm running low on petrol. Now I need to find another vehicle in a detour I don't have time to make. So at the next stop, I can't be careful and I've got to steam right in when normally I'd be hanging back and observing. The multiple starting positions is a nice touch too. The added randomness means you can't use the same plan as the time before. I'm in a different place and I've got a different vehicle - so that also changes how I play. Great stuff. And I absolutely love the name. You're so right too - it's the mission I didn't know I needed, but boy do I need it! I did make a video of my progress. I'm usually hesitant to mention them on here because I don't want to promote myself. But I'm going to link it because I'd like to encourage people to give this a try. I'm amazed that more people aren't playing this one already. Video in the spoiler below:

@Recaldy I had a go of your Ravage Island Paradise (RIP - ho ho ho) mission and I rather liked it. The teleporting boats is a superb touch. It's a very solid, satisfyingly difficult mission. I keep thinking I'm going to die of thirst or hunger, but I never make it that far!

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. What a pain to clear up. I almost fell for this one myself. It sounded like the kind of thing that Trevor might do and I didn't get suspicious until it asked me to log into my Steam account. And only then because the 2FA requires me to dig a phone out of my drawer (and I'm too lazy to do that). Only then did I take a closer look. I was genuinely impressed by how convincing it is. I've left messages for Trevor in various places and I've contacted everyone we both know. But if anyone else knows a better way to get hold of him, please do so. It sounds like he's going to have to go through a lot of hassle to resolve this.

GilliganTrevor93 has been hacked. His account is sending out messages trying to get people to vote for a fictitious CSGO team on overfight.info. It's very well done. The site pops up a box asking you to log in with Steam (through OpenID), but it's not a real browser window. Instead it's a generated box that looks almost entirely legit. This shows the faking of the address: https://i.imgur.com/biqDkm7.jpg And this is the fake conversation: https://i.imgur.com/AyockwA.jpg

(From a YouTube comment) This is what I like the most about all this Ravage stuff. Isn't it great to have a father and son able to play a game together and to be able to design their own stuff? Bloody lovely.
