I need a little help understanding the use of the TMR mod. I installed the file folders as directed, and from within the game I activated the TMR mod from the extensions as usual. Now, there appears to be a whole list of modules listed beneath the original TMR entry - many of which are too long to be read. Should I be activating these too, or are they automatic? Some I don't know what to do with (like a control scheme, or "core" label, etc...). I have special controller configs in my profile that I can't lose. Any input to help me understand this would be great. Sacha

Excellent. Pity some mods are not compatible, especially since many of them ought to only be client side. The biggest one I have a problem with actually is JSRS - my favourite. I will definitely check out play with six, thanks.

Hey, I would have to say no! Controller can be good, especially if you're used to it - but not enough precision and reflex control for infantry. There are also not enough buttons to do everything you may want to do. Try it, see what it feels like. For me, I ONLY use the controller for vehicles - heli, airplane, ground transport. Thats it.

Wow, that's fantastic - thank you so much! It really helps. Trouble thus far has been trying to find populated servers. I have played through the showcase missions and some firing ranges, and am now going through the campaign. Finally getting used to the feel, and constantly adjusting controls to suit as I go. Dslyecxi's guide's have been invaluable, and I'll check out Zeus too! Looking forward to some serious gaming.

I am having some trouble understanding how to find good servers in A3. Most of the listed servers in any given game mode (if listed at all) only have a few smatterings of people. Nothing major. What are the coloured symbols on the left? Should I only be going after the green ones? Do the others mean I can't join? I want to find servers where there is actually a serious game going on, where I can play a part such as fly troops around.

That is indeed where I do it from. Somehow, magically, enabling them and restarting one-by-one worked. Can't explain it.

Would like to report that after the latest Arma 3 patch, I can no longer load the game with any mods activated. As long as I delete any mod entries in the Arma.cfg file, it will load. Once I activate them, A3 fails to load during the 'loading addons' process. Install is fresh (a new purchase). I am going to try and load them one by one to see if a specific one is causing it, or all of them. Mods in use: Blastcore "mikes" (to open vehicle doors) realarmor jsrs tpw mods cba

Hey all. I have successfully set up a decent control config on my Xbox 360 controller for vehicles only. However, A3 seems to 'delete' these configuration changes sometimes. I've seen it happen both when I load up A3 without my controller active, and once even in game because I changed a null-zone value. I have backed up my user config file to replace the one in use so I don't have to re-program the buttons, but does anybody know why this is happening? Really annoying....hard to fly in this game without one. I tried to set up my keyboard to fly like Battlefield 4, but the flight mechanics are far different here.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing! I saw in one of the vids they could draw a course line for distance and direction. That would be nice to have.

Yes, fixed wing aircraft are coming! If I'm not mistaken, with the next major update. Not sure if it was with Zeus or campaign part 3, but fixed wing coming with one of those. P.S. - I'm a new member. How come I can type responses, but not post a new thread? Usually the newest members are the ones LEAST likely to be able to respond to anything.

Gunships: AI pilots and player as gunner

I think I remember seeing a Youtube video of someone doing this, but he had to keep using map waypoints to tell his gunner where to go. There wasn't any automatic flight profile or evasive actions. If this is true, then you might not want to be the gunner!
