Well, that is not much of an answer. Every one of these walkthroughs are wrong and badly out of date. In fact...there is nothing in the steam guides section that are worth much.
Tips I was given look like this.
1. Go slow. Don't hurry.
2. Don't research anything until you have nothing to do, then only what you need to get more missions to show up.
Do the basic probe missions.
then research EAS
then do probe/EAS missions
research the next item you need...not going to tell you as that is part of the game...get stuck...come back here.
3. use vehicles as much as possible. reuse on different missions...save your money.
4. UTILIZE YOUR SAVES!!!!! first time you get a malfunction or something and you slam a rover or lander in to Mars you will know what I am talking about.
