  1. Are you launching TB thru A3tools or by double clicking the exe in P:/TerrainBuilder ?

    [WIP TERRAIN] Puget Sound

That pic is the entire mapframe I'm working on. About the motorcycle trip... I would definitely join you! But yeah, if you want to do that, and if you spot any iconic (or not) buildings/objects I could pass those pics to the 3d guy! Personally I'll need info on signs and stuff aswell..

Thanks Hem! Update: I discovered a new method for making roads look natural using World Machine, that should give a Nice boost to development. Plus, I found some help by a 3d artist who's starting to work on custom assets, I'll reveal his name and show some screenshots of his work soon!

    Satellite Image Overlap Issue

Wait, I didnt check that so.... yeah still annoying but at least not game breaking!! Thanks buddy
  10. Hello, my name is Andrea aka Schultz and I am developing a new terrain for a3 named Puget Sound: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?186742-WIP-TERRAIN-Puget-Sound Since 3d modelling is not exactly my forte, I am here to ask if some of you are willing to give me a hand with my terrain assets. My terrain is located in NW USA and of course theres a shortage of buildings available for a3 for that particular architectural style. My idea would be to closely work with somebody to create an American asset pack that will be both used on my map and released to the mapmakers community to help them develop more various terrains. I have a lot of ideas in mind, and I think We could give a Nice boost to terrain making with an assets pack like this. I also recently started learning to use Blender but I am afraid that would limit the time I need to finish my terrain. So once again, is anybody willing to help me? Of course theres no money involved, it will be purely for the modders community, especially for terrain devs. If you are interested reply here or drop me a line on Skype!

It's less exciting than what you think :D It's because of raw data availability :D Have you got a link for that mod?
  12. Smiley, good job!!! Do you plan on releasing your assets for other terrains?

    [Idea] Altis + Stratis

Technically it's possible, not sure about licensing though.

    Satellite Image Overlap Issue

After endless tries, I was able to workaround this bug by downscaling all my rasters to 10m/px resolution, as suggested by Smokedog and Spooky on the Skype channel! The only problem is that resolution is horrible, especially if you want to have a detailed mask. The whole purpose of using sat normals is also defeated by this low resolution.

    Mysterious Problem

You now have to share some WIP pictures of your terrain in exchange! :D

    Mysterious Problem

No wait, you still want to inherit from Stratis, you just need to define your own newRoadsShape
  18. Geo, I didn't get a reply back! I am still interested

    Mysterious Problem

.. so, since you're inheriting from Stratis, it's picking that parameter from Stratis config and loading Stratis roads! You could create a simple polilyne anywhere on the map, export it and add this line to your config: newRoadsShape = "\yourtag\yourproject\data\roads\roads.shp"; (you can insert it in the blank line after minRocksInRockSquare = 2; ) I don't know if you could have a blank roads.shp , but this fixes it If you plan on adding roads on your map, you have to go this way! MISTERY SOLVED! :D

    Mysterious Problem

I'm pretty sure your config is inheriting from Altis or Stratis and you didnt specify your map's shapefile, am I right?

    Satellite Image Overlap Issue

Tried with 25600 (0.8 m/pixel) rasters, but TB doesn't like that (default satellite file doesn't exist). Meanwhile I noticed some strange behaviours in my grid references... as you can see from the images, on some spots of my map I have 7 cyphers instead of the usual 6: Image 1: grid 140408 http://i.imgur.com/J7cVaeC.jpg (294 kB) Image 2: grid 1401085 (wtf?) http://i.imgur.com/bqCqJ48.jpg (294 kB) Image 3: grid 139808 http://i.imgur.com/OxN8dqS.jpg (291 kB)

    Satellite Image Overlap Issue

I'll try some setups and I'll post here to keep track on what is not working: Project settings: Grid Size: 4096 x 4096 Cell Size: 5m Rasters Size: 20480 x 20480 Here's the various tests: 1) 2048x2048 tiles, 128 overlap, 40x40 texture layer: not working 2) 1024x1024 tiles, 64 overlap, 40x40 tex layer: terrain builder doesn't let me go with anything else than 2048x2048 tiles! 3) 2048x2048 tiles, 128 overlap, 20x20 layer: TESTING NOW 4) 2048x2048 tiles, 48 overlap, 40x40 layer: TESTING NOW 5) 2048x2048 tiles, 64 overlap, 40x40 layer: NOT WORKING
  23. It's probably a config parameter? Just guessing though

    Satellite Image Overlap Issue

So I'm still stuck... I remade my project: Heightfield: 4096 x 4096 - 5 meters horizontal scale Satmap and mask: 20480 x 20480 Overlap?? 64 pixels Texture layer: 40 x 40 with this settings (and the overlap was suggested by TB) I still have problems. Any suggestions?
  25. If you need some help with the heightfield Ive got some nice tools and I can help you
