  1. @ wolfgarth: What mankyle said -- nes4day last posted around the time of Arma 3's official release, so nes4day would have had first rights to that work and the choice of porting or not, or who would/could publicly distribute a port. Moreover, without the source files -- most importantly, unbinarized P3Ds and RVMATs -- I do not believe that I could not modify/port over a mod to the same level of quality of even the original.

@ Sakura_Chan: Unfortunately I've no texturing aptitude or experience, so I at least don't see myself producing new markings and insignia. I can safely say -- with the same consideration in mind that Arma doesn't simulate 'radar stealth' anyway -- that external hardpoints are planned. :D The reason you haven't already seen some is that I found the A-10 and AV8B pylons to be too long to simply reuse without model clipping. That is to say, those aircraft don't have leading edge flaps in Arma, only trailing edge flaps, so on the F-35B their pylons would clip through the leading and/or trailing edge flaps when lowered. Moreover, there's quite a few photos showing off the real-world F-35B's pylons, in particular both their roughly trapezoidal shape (I believe they taper more than the Harrier's) and their placement from near wingtip to approximately mid-wing (the "midboard" ones appear to be closer to the outboard ones), with the outboard pylons having the distinct trait of appearing to hold their air-to-air missiles at an outward cant... so authenticity would need seemingly all-new, F-35B-specific pylon models, though I have been privately messaging about that. :)

And that's just for the external hardpoints, to say nothing of the complexities of the real-world F-35B's weapons bays -- the doors do have an animation for opening and closing, by the way -- in comparison to what BI modeled! For starters, in real life it may look like AMRAAMs are attached to the interior doors, but RKSL-Rock's late May 2012 blog post included an illustration of what's actually going on... and yeah, I am not at this time ready to replicate that.

P.S. I appreciate your inquiry for coming from the modder working on the C-130J and MV-22. :D I'd like to ask about the former, in fact...

Your F-35 is also very nice looking. I am loving the color of the plane and cockpit glass is a orange color but not to dark

  2. If anyone very skilled with developing mods would like to help i can the Heavy M8 Buford Hull already made but i just need help with finishing it i dont know that much with 3D programs. Also the Mrap if someone can show me how to port the Maxxpro MRAP i will bring that to armaholics but still give credit to the man who made the mod even though he doesnt do it anymore. Also Would someone like to start a Bradley for arma 3? or help me port just that vehicle from Arma 2 as a single download mod instead of having to get all in arma and what not.

I am a huge newb with this but help would be very nice... All 3 of these vehicles are a must for Arma 3 !!!!

  3. Ok, since my last post I've been hard at work on the model, and with the help of my very skilled friend and family member who also 3d models we have managed to model the following things in the last 32 hrs maybe.

Smoke Dischargers, Basic Side armour, 120mm Cannon, Tool boxes, Vents, Medical Kit and Infantry phone Box, 7.76mm Machine gun mount, and my cousin who helped with most of that to be honest then went over the model of the Lower, Upper hulls and the Turret and added some well needed details and refinement for me. Next on my to do list is the tracks or treads that I will put in their own file to avoid over-sizing the main model.

Here is a pick of the development:

I'm also aiming to add a few things to the Challenger 2, that will make the tank more realistic to play.

Thats really looking good man... u gotta show me how u can do this so well lol. Are u adding a turret on top or any extra weapons other then the main 120mm cannon?

  4. @Lincolnlou How realistic are you planning the M8 Bluford to be? How true to it's real life version do you intend it to be?

    ---------- Post added at 00:38 ---------- Previous post was at 00:36 ----------

I'm not forcing anything on anyone. The statement wasn't even directed at the mod maker.

i wanna make it if i get help but make it just how it was in real life. Be able to drop it out of a C-17... Have a auto loader same level 3 armor crew of 3 men with a 50 cal on top

  5. fucking amazing thank you for bringing this back... Noticed that there are missiles underneath the plane when its pay load is suppose to be internal. Also have u thought of using the actual US Navy airforce colors for the plane? i saw a few pics people have posted of it on here...

  6. You should be fine to edit it your self, the creator has been off the forums for a long time now and he released MLOD's for editing.

    http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?96247-Mraps/page48

High center of gravity, high ride height (putting the gunner up high), no rear door, only the front side doors and the doors are all pneumatic due to them weighing 200+ kilos, so if the vehicle rolls into a ditch or gets rolled by an IED and the air tank/compressor gets damaged you're trapped inside with the gunners hatch being the only way out...

Compared to say... the M-ATV which has doors for all the users, a lower ride height and is much lighter meaning it can navigate the afghan terrain much easier or the Australian Bushmaster PMV which uses a mechanical rear door and 3 roof hatches.

Awsome thank you for looking into this for me at least i know now that i am able to use his work.... I am trying to figure out right now how to make it workable for arma 3... can someone help me?

  7. Hey there ive recently started a tank using Blender still a huge newb with the system but learning slowly. Already have a hull started for this tank. I dont know much but if anyone can help me out or wanna join in on creating this tank please let me know i can use all the help i can get. M8 Buford was built in the late 80s to replace older air deployable tanks but the program was shut down in early 90s cause of the Stryker light armor Vehicle was brought into the picture. I really dont think that was a good option cause the amount of armor and fire power on this one small light tank was pretty damn impressive. 105mm auto loader cannon with a 50. cal or 40mm launcher on top... Thicker armor then the Abrams tank. Seeing that alot of plane mods coming out that can air drop tanks ... maybe this is the perfect answer for that mod? Also there has not been a single mod out yet for a new piece of armor.

    So worth the build
