  1. Short answer is no. It's like comparing apples to durian fruit. ARMA is a more complex beast than the likes of insurgency. And it isn't so easy to pick up and play and feel like tier 1 operators. It has a quite steep learning curve. But it all depends on what you want from the game. There are more mods than you can shake your fist at, to create everything from Milsim to plain old strange as fuck. But time and dedication is needed to get the most from ARMA. I'll put it this way. One game in my library has 50 hours playtime and another has 4000+ hours. And insurgency, although enjoyable to a certain extent, couldn't keep my interest beyond those 50 hours.

  5. Really loving this script. It's what I was hoping bis_fnc_showsubtitle was going to be. Can I make a couple of suggestions? Can we have a dedicated blufor-indfor-opfor-civ channels in blue,green, red and purple? So we don't have to change the script colours too much. "Side" is in blue no matter if it's an opfor speaking. And would it be possible to add a time at the end of each sentence? Instead of just one length between each sentence. "line1 = ["Sgt. Anderson", "Papa Bear, this is Alpha 1-1, we are under heavy fire, I repeat, we are under heavy fire, how copy?",5]; line2 = ["PAPA BEAR", "Solid copy Alpha 1-1, we are sending air support, mark the enemy's position with red smoke, Papa Bear out.",6]; [[line1,line2],"BLUFOR"] execVM "simpleConv.sqf";" Thanks for the script I'll defo mention you in the credits ;) e2a Ahh I see it doesn't need the time thing, Very cool :D

    ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread

    Cheers Ineptaphid, I'll take a look at that. I always forget that Altis (Lemnos) is a real island. I think I'd read somewhere that a greek god inhabited the island (Vulcan, maybe?) in Homer esque greek literature. I'd like to request an addon if I may :) I dunno If I've asked this before but with Tanoa being a group of islands and Apex leaning towards more SF type roles. I'd love to see an SBS style klepper canoe for those tacticool silent insertions. I've tried my hand at modelling, but it is beyond my skill set :D A block is a block and no amount of imagination will turn it into a canoe :D

    ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread

    Wow, aint you nice to the new guy. Try spending more time on some tolerence lessons and do us all a favour. It's a request thread and he made a request. Get over yourself. @filthycasual Might be hard to fit in a WW2 theme on Stratis/Altis as the are very modernised. But giving the islands an historical reference in WW2 is a great idea as it would of been strategically ideal for the north african and mediterrnean campaigns. And would of been vital to both sides. It's a shame those coastal defences that came with Apex werent about at the time they were making Altis as they'd of fitted well into an island that sits between Italy and North Africa You've actually gave me some ideas I might incorporate into my own campaign. So thank you and welcome to the forum.

  14. That looks pretty damn cool :) With this and Bensons enhanced movement you could get in and out of some interesting places :) Why don't you ask @Direone to make you an abseiling pose? It's looks like a pretty static pose and he could fashion you up something nice.

    Oh that is very nice indeedly. (And defo better than my crappy port of the A2 ship as it's very ugly up close :) ) Even if these were just statics that would be great, as we have a serious lack of sea going vessels from which to launch ops from. Or just in port to give a bit of life to those locations. Amazing work.

    Apex Weapon Feedback

    Actually it is over a pound in weight. The HK416 11' at 3.37kg is with an empty mag not fully loaded. The weight of a USGI mag fully loaded is about 1.14 pounds. https://www.quora.com/How-much-does-a-USGI-M4-magazine-weigh-when-loaded. And an unloaded HK416 11" is approx 3.12kg or 6.8 lbs. http://www.heckler-koch.com/en/products/military/assault-rifles/hk416-a5/hk416-a5-11/technical-data.html Hover over the mag weight and it stipulates that the .25kg is for the empty mag. Add in even a pound for the mag pushes it closer to 8 lbs.

    Loving the addons Kydoimos. Just a quick question on the tac screen. The On version. Can you set a texture on the screen and is it backlit like the vanilla laptops? Tried to use the nilla pc screens but they look awful without the light behind them. I really could do with a proper looking comms system too. Any chance you've thought about adding something along those lines? Keep up the excellent work amigo. Guys like you and poolpunk help flesh out the empty maps.

    They are all working fine for me using the trigger method. Very cool poses too and natural looking. I'll take some shots of them and post them into the photo thread. Keep up the good work :)

    @jackfrench Use a trigger to call switchmove. Doesn't work well (if ever) in a units init box. Put the named codes in the on act box and it will fire (don't use "this") They look great Direone :) But they seem to be geared more to modded weapons. Any chance in future we could have few more that fit the current arma 3 weapons? A great addon mate :)

Arma don't feel right without some rksl air cover and messiah vehicles (I really miss the wmiks of old and their dodgy tires and that lilt can :D )
