    Hosting Issue today

It seems not, hopefully they'll fix this rather glaring bug asap.

    Smoke/particle effects fps drop

Means you probably have a graphics card that has trouble with Particle effects, if we had, you know, PC configuration we could give a more exact answer. Right now you're basically asking us to guess the problem.

Catalonia: is Europe’s next independent state?

And all of those countries are doing so well, paradises like Kosovo and Bosnia.
  4. I think if you're going to use Bohemia Stuff as a base, you should use stuff ported from Arma II and then bring it up to Arma III standard, rather than letting this become another AAF/NATO reskin mod.
  5. It's still a Crye pattern, it's just an older iteration of the Multicam concept.
  6. Probably in the same mythical warehouse where Scorpion Desert is. If they don't want to pay the licensing for Multicam, why don't they do what the Brits have done with MTP and make a knock off with a different pattern with the same principals? I think this has more to do with reluctance to break with the old practice of issuing different patterns for different areas then real problems. I sense internal politics are afoot.
  7. Thing is the "variants" argument doesn't make any sense, since the whole point behind Multicam is that the same pattern can be used for multiple environments within one region.
  8. Is it just me or does the US army spend a vast amount of their R&D budget collecting data on things and then either A. Make a decision based purely on cost effectiveness in the short term, example: the decision to go with the M9 as service handgun B. Decide that it's not worth putting the findings into action, example: the Carbine competitions that always end with "sure the competition is objectively superior to the M4A1 in every way we could test, but not better enough that the cost is justified" or C. Gather all this data, send it up the chain, only for the guys upstairs to throw all these findings in the bin and make a decision based on what they think would look cool in press photographs. Which is why I think the MX series is pure Sci-fi, not because such a weapon wouldn't be viable, but because it would never be adopted because it isn't a railgun with an AR-15 layout. But I guess the point I'm trying to get to (in a tangential way) is that starting to issue Multicam, and giving everyone the impression you're going to adopt Multicam, then adopting what I understand is Multicam beta, is a dumb decision.
  9. Have you considered an AAF reskin version?
  10. A virtual HUD would be useful, functionally it would be quite similar functionally to the ingame hud with crosshairs and an ammo count, but dependent on wearing Tactical Glasses rather than difficulty.
  11. Just pick up Arma 3 over the 15th Anniversary weekend? Been playing for a while now? Our group is just forming in Arma 3, the founders having played arma 2 in many different groups previously, and we need members. We have a Teamspeak, but we are in need of dedicated group members before we establish a server. We play on weekends and are hoping to find a time that suits players on both sides of the Atlantic. We are based on DEVGRU (unofficially known as SEAL Team Six) Gold Squadron (Gold-Knights). DEVGRU is the US Navy's foremost Counter-Terrorist and Special Operations unit, and one of the most Elite units in the United States Military, if not the world. DEVGRU is capable of executing missions across a wide spectrum, from rescuing a hostage from a hands of a terrorist group, to inserting behind the lines of a conventional enemy force to carry out sabotage. We take Training and Operations seriously, but at the same time we're conscious that we're all friends playing a video game, you'll never be asked to call anyone sir, salute, pass tests to qualify for a role or any of that other "Military Roleplay" stuff that seems to be in vogue nowadays. In our opinion that's silly and quite often done solely as a mindless imitation of military practices. We have a mandatory training programme, but it's kept functional, fun (as much as training can be) and the upper ranks are not exempt. Nor do we enforce rules were only certain ranks can use certain items, every member is free to choose his own loadout within certain guidelines set based on role, mission and realism. We believe that by signing on with us you trust that we have a certain level of competency, and we believe we should return that trust. All we require in return is dedication and good humour. Skills can be thought, but attitude is all you. Constant unexplained absences will result in removal, as will having a negative effect on other players or on staff. For example legitimate criticism is encouraged even if strongly worded, and will be dealt with through discussion to reach a result that satisfies all parties. However repeated moaning about, for example, the size of the modlist, or 1st person only, is forbidden. For more information, please add Murphy (http://steamcommunity.com/id/War_lord_Murphy/) on Steam, if you cannot do this for whatever reason, please PM me at this account. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you take the time to check us out.

Arma 2 - Game Spy Petition

Really don't understand the people who expect to just hop on some random server and get in depth tactical gameplay. If you want that you need to join one of the many communities out there. And I too can't possibly conceive of why anyone would still be playing Arma II:Free, CO is literally 20 euros on steam even when it isn't on sale. Sticking with ARMA II now is like sticking with windows 98.
  13. I really love this map, you guys took a great map and not only ported it perfectly, but improved it with tons of little details. The only criticism I have is that some of the buildings have glitchy shadows.
  14. So after scouring both these Forums and the Steam forums, I've discovered that there are no Delta force style units around. So I've decided to help start one, go me. Right now I'm looking for staff, I'm not going to do what a lot of guys do and act like I have a complete unit already, I need people to help start this thing. What I'm bringing to the table is server administration and raw experience (I'm one half of the leadership of the GMT based unit "32 Commando"). My immediate plan is for one squad of Delta operators (Three fire teams) and 1 "fireteam" of airmen representing the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment to handle insertion, extraction and Close Air support. This of course will be expanded if the group becomes larger than 20 regulars. If this interests you please send me a message about the matter, or add me on steam. 15. I too have experienced these glitches, the clipping issues all seem to come from one animation, a little "fumble" the character does when you stop moving, if this mod were updated I'd recommend scrapping that animation. Blind fire from cover sometimes fails to work. Lastly the running vault is redundant, since @st_bunnyhop already does the same thing.
  16. The 32 Commando Royal Marines is a newly formed ARMA 2 Group that focuses on tactical realism and military planning, without getting bogged down in pedantic realism and huge amounts of compulsory training. We encourage teamwork as well as a friendly and mature atmosphere. The 32 Commando Royal Marines has a simplified military rank structure based loosely on the ranks of the British Armed Forces. What We Offer • Team Speak 3 Server • Our Own Game Server • Realistic Gaming • Friendly and Mature Atmosphere • Originality What You Need to Join • Meet Minimum age requirement of 16 (With very very rare Exceptions at our discretion) • Some Basic Mods (We can help in setup) • Time and Will to participate every Sunday in group Mission/Meeting (Starts 6PM GMT) • Working Microphone in good condition • Must Maintain Activity to prevent Demotion (Two out of every four missions) • Communicative English • Maturity Website: http://32commando.iclanwebsites.com/ Add Murphy on steam for more info (http://steamcommunity.com/id/War_lord_Murphy/) or if you can't do that for whatever reason, you can PM me here.
  17. Looking for a clan with a US Special Operations theme, i.e Delta Force. That plays wednesdays post 8:00pm GMT or friday post 7pm, with no single clan requirement (Since I co-run my own group with ops on sundays, as well as playing with another group tuesday, thursday and saturdays.) No crazy "roleplaying" "sir, yes sir," rubbish. I don't mind a little bit of training stuff as long as its reasonably sized, for example, a 30 minute refresher on things like formation and standard procedures for your group is ok, a 4 week training course before I can even pull rifleman is not okay. I'm 19, very experienced and well versed in pretty much every infantry role, though I do prefer some over others.
  18. This is kind of a long shot, but could any modder who would be willing to make some units based on a futuristic paramilitary theme contact me? Will accept any offers from reskins of bohemia units to fully fledged new models, so long as they fulfil some basic quality criteria.

    Why this game sucks...

Find a group that fits you, if you can't find a group that fits you, start your own group. Either way if you want to play anything more advanced than Dayz or a Life RPG, you're gonna need some sort of group of like minded people, whether its as organised as full on milsim (if that's what floats your boat) or as disorganised as a group that's one guy with a 100 slot server and whoever wants to turn up on a certain day. (Even if anyone can get in, people who screw around, Rambo and TK will get banned pretty quickly) But just waltzing around public insurgency servers hoping to run into competent people is going to get you nowhere.
  20. I hate crazy pseudo military Units. I'm disgusted by the culture of subservience they create, and their overly inflated rank structure. and the way they think their way is the only correct way of doing things. But I don't really worry about em, you can spot them a mile off, and anyone who signs up knows what they're in for and can leave at anytime. My group treats them like a sad joke, and we avoid any connection to them, but we don't really give a damn about them existing, you certainly wouldn't catch me badmouthing other groups like this.
  21. The Special Reaction Group (SRG) is a newly formed ARMA 2 Group that focuses on tactical realism and military planning, without getting bogged down in pedantic realism and compulsory training. We encourage teamwork as well as a friendly and mature atmosphere. The SRG has a simplified military rank structure. We currently need about 15 enlisted men minimum, three of the best Infantry will be chosen for our elite Recon (Sniper-Scout) team. Depending on the mission there may also be slots for air and vehicle crew. The concept is of an Elite European “Black†Special operations team that answers only to the European Defense Agency “Secret council†which is itself a secret group made up of individuals who are officially low level pencil pushers. The SRG is only the first step in their plan to separate the Military forces of the European Union from the American sphere. But, for now the SRG is tasked with politically sensitive operations in hostile areas, aided by an almost unlimited budget. What We Offer • Team Speak 3 Server • Our Own Game Server • Realistic Gaming • Friendly and Mature Atmosphere • Originality What You Need to Join • Meet Minimum age requirement of 16 (With very very rare Exceptions at our discretion) • Some Basic Mods (We can help in setup) • Time and Will to participate every Sunday in group Mission/Meeting (Starts 6PM GMT) • Working Microphone in good condition • Must Maintain Activity to prevent Demotion (Two out of every four missions) • Communicative English • Maturity If interested, please take a minute to send me a PM with some information about yourself, or add war_lordtwc on steam and I’ll give you the TS details (Our website is slightly delayed, normally you’d have to apply there.) _______ Due to slow recruitment, we're doing Fallujah MSO till registration picks up.

    Arma2MySQL

I can't get MSO with MySQL working because the existing tutorial is either way too vague, or just plain out of date.
  23. Hi, my group has managed to a server up and running on a very slightly edited version of the included ACE_takistan mso (I replaced the magic boxes with script loaded ones.) However, even though the mission works fine in single player tests, on the dedicated modules such as sight changing at ammo boxes don't appear to be working even when they appear to be initializing. What am I doing wrong? Edit: Never mind, sorted.
  24. ARMA II player looking for a squad who play the game seriously and realistically, but not so seriously that its a mass of obligations and rules with a hierarchy yelling at everybody under them. I'm 18, have a headset and has no problem installing any mods that may be required. Lives in Europe, Native English speaker, unless something suddenly changes I'm available at almost any time. PM me with details if interested.
