Nope, update is already in the works of being finalized and prepared for release. We were going to release the ACE compat files at the same time, but have decided to push the assets update first and then follow up with the ACE update afterwards. And while we're on that topic, one major change to note with this update is we will be separating the PBOs into their own releases. The current upload will be transitioned into an all-in-one pack, just as it stands now. This will allow everyone to pick exactly what they need without needing to download the entire pack. Furthermore, it will allow us to make more frequent updates as we can now do them per PBO instead of waiting for the entire pack to be ready.

In a sense it will only be hardcoded by the classnames we use, and since we don't allow our content to be extracted or modified, would then only be able to be used with USP assets. But since its all script work mainly, it would be easy enough for anyone to use this same system and just swap the classnames for their own, and no need of using USP as a requirement. Contrary to what some may believe, we are open about sharing certain things with other upstanding authors in this community that are willing to ask for permission. So if you would be interested in using that system for the ACE interactions, feel free to contact me through DM and I'm certain we can get something worked out. The system is still a WIP and about 80% complete now with most things fully functioning as they should, but untested in MP so there may be some areas that still need adjustments.

MICH helmets with rails are on the way, just haven't gotten back around to them quite yet. And some more WIP for you guys. Had some fun with this and got a preview ready for a full head-to-toe setup, including a look at the first JPC2 loadout and the Airframe which has received many improvements. This has been a nice benchmark for us to see much of the new content and upgrades pulled together for a full kit. Some great things coming.

You are right on point. We have been doing some looking into getting the headlamps functional using that exact mod which you have referenced. Still has a ways to go yet, but hopefully it will all work out and we can make that a true possibility. We finally got that worked out now and will be present with the coming update. Any items which don't have actual NV capabilities will no longer activate the NV/Thermal effects. Some of you may be happy to know that we have some new vest loadouts on the way with this release, and this time around they will cover more than just rifleman/556 roles. We have several different ammo types which are being setup, including: 7.62 (AK & Marksman), MG box, and even a few for .50 cal. Also, more role-specific loadouts are being included as well to cover things such as Medic, Engineer, Grenadier, and CCT to name a few. Nearly all of our current vests will be covered with these new additions to ensure there is much more diversity and choices than how it is now.

Possibly, can't say for certain though. I refuse to give out release dates anymore, as I have learned my lesson there. We have begun testing on some of the new assets, so that's a good indicator that release is close. The holidays have definitely slowed things down a bit but we are still doing what we can to get it done. Not those particular MICH models, but we do have a much better model of the MICH-2000 helmet which will be included. Nearly everything from the original 75th Ranger mod has either been scrapped, overhauled, or replaced in favor of higher quality assets. Those helmets can still be found in the current Ranger mod though, if you were just after those specifically.

USP Gear & Uniforms is back available on Steam Workshop. It has been a long, difficult road for this mod and we greatly appreciate the continuous support we have received throughout it all. Our goal has never been lost and our progress never impeded by those which have wanted nothing more than to see us fail, for whatever their reason may be. We are still determined and motivated to continue onward delivering new, high quality assets for the armaverse and this community into the year of 2020. With still so much to come yet and work to be done, we have merely scratched the surface. There is no telling when that interest will burn out or if we even reach that end goal, but it hasn't shown any sign of letting up yet. So from all of us here at USP, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Screenshot by: @TheSenDest

We have begun testing for the v0.8 release build a couple days ago, so everyone can expect to see some screenshots popping up around the community displaying new USP content. The feedback has been very positive so far, with very few issues/bugs reported. The ACE compatibility was pushed back just a bit, to allow us to focus on getting the asset update out first. Then we can follow up with the ACE update, which will be its own separate download. Aside from that, we have a little more WIP to show off: The AMF team was kind enough to donate this Seyntex 45L rucksack over to us, created by [AMF] Tasha. MC texture was added by the USP team: And then OMA has been back at it, putting together this nice new Ops-Core Special Operations Tactical Respirator:

While we await our workshop item to be reinstated and continue in our ongoing case against @Fros7bite and the Echelon International gaming community, we went ahead and took some time to get ourselves a Twitter feed set up for all USP related projects. This seemed like a great outlet for us to increase the public visibility of our works and to keep you guys updated on all our progress. The subreddit will remain as our primary source for mod related discussions and questions, whereas Twitter will make for a good location to share WIP and development information with the community. Will update the OP with the link soon: https://twitter.com/USPmod

Another fraudulent DMCA. Only hidden temporarily while we get it resolved. A direct download for the mod can be found on our subreddit page here: https://www.reddit.com/r/UnderSiegeProductions/ Nothing to worry about, just more shit for us to have to deal with all over again. Will update the thread once the workshop link is back live.
  10. So can we request forum bans on users here which have repeatedly uploaded ripped/stolen content to the Steam Workshop, including assets from our own mod? Or what would be the proper way of going about this? Because this @Fros7bite guy seems to have a serious problem with following rules or abiding by license agreements, but yet continues to do it without any repercussions here on the official forum boards or on Steam. The uploads containing our content have been DMCA'd each and every time, only to have him try again after a few weeks. He has trolled our forum thread, our workshop page, and now makes numerous attempts to reupload our work. Surely it would be better to rid the community of people such as this, who only lurk these forums to look for their next target. Was just wondering if this is even an option for any further issues that are had with users here which act in this same manner, including giving mod authors additional choices of action should they encounter the same thing. Creating a bad name for yourself on the Workshop should also have consequences to your status here on the forums, as it doesn't seem there is any reasonable action taken by Steam/Valve against users with repeat uploads which have been successfully DMCA'd. Moderators here are already aware of some of his previous uploads which contained parts of our work, and now we have dealt with yet another from the same user: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1920416452 There is also this upload from him which very much looks like he is using ripped vanilla assets within it, perhaps something BI should have a look at: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1768525657

Some new accessories and improvements coming for our Ops-Core helmets. Still interested in possibly doing the Ops-Core Sentry helmet down the road, but we'll see.

Not gonna lie, with all the other work that's been going on within the mod, haven't really taken much time to decide on the config accessibility. Though I do know that needs to be done before we get too far along. My original thinking was that we would work all of that in as we moved into v1.0 of the mod, when its passed the alpha stage. As well as beginning to make retextures possible by that time. I know that seems like a ways away, but we have so many things going through repeated changes right now that I can nearly guarantee that anything you guys would setup would end up being broken with each update. Classnames are being changed until we can nail a solid standard for them (due to all the variants every item has), textures are being changed and combined with other tex sheets, UV layouts are being shifted around as they get combined with others, and lots of organizing is being done within the PBO's to make it easier on us when needing to fix/update things. Its no easy task with a project this big and takes a good bit of trial and error to see what works best. No amount of planning beforehand would have made this any less of a task, because many things aren't thought of until you encounter an issue which forces you to go back and redo some things. Long story short, everyone will have to do a bit of experimenting while we work it all out. I'm hoping with the ACE interaction system, we can have pouches and various other parts of the plate carriers able to be changed ingame without you guys ever needing to touch configs (which would essentially be the same as you creating your own entries with the hidden selections). Won't know for sure until its all setup, tested, and confirmed to be working fine. Until then, we will be providing as much documentation as we can on how to make use of the hidden selections, the selection names, and the abbreviations used for the various accessories and attachments. Would be really nice to have it where everyone can build their loadouts ingame without having to dive into the madness going on behind the scenes.

Correct. Since the model is being switched once they are added/removed, it will be reading the appropriate config entries for each. So throw on your Comtacs or whatever other headset, and you will have ACE hearing protection. Remove them, and its gone. Giving real functionality to certain items without ever needing to go back to a crate just to change your helmet each time. We are hoping to implement more functional features for other items where possible. Its actually a combination of the two. We had taken the ACE NV effects and made our own tweaks and edits with them, while still using the ACE_NVG as a requirement. We'll have to distribute our own modified version of the ACE_NVG.pbo in order to have the same white phos effects that we had shown earlier on (if this is allowed), at least until ACE does an update to their NVG system. The only thing relying on our modified PBO is the WP effects, so even if it comes to us not being able to distribute that with the mod, everything else will still function as it should. We are really hoping to find a way to implement the WP effects directly without needing to modify ACE files. Furthermore, I'd like to mention some of the other ideas that we have in store involving ACE. Goggles/Shades will also use ACE, giving the tinting effects and dust buildup. I've also been experimenting with some other cool features that I can't be sure just yet on whether it will work or not. Had this idea; why not take certain items that are attached to your equipment, such as chemsticks/rope/zipties/etc, and once you remove them off your pack/vest/etc they become the actual working versions of those items in your inventory. Pull a chemstick off your vest, and now its an actual chemstick you can throw on the ground. Pull the rope off your backpack, and it becomes the ACE rope. Zipties would become the ACE handcuffs or whatever they call them. Once used, its gone from your inventory and from your gear, so not like you would have an endless supply of them. Need to free up a little inventory space? See if any of the items you are carrying can be attached to your gear. Like I say, not sure if this will work as planned, so I'll just have to update you guys further once we've had a chance to try it all out.

    USP Gear & Uniforms

So as we draw closer to the updated release, I figured it would be a good time to drop in and catch you guys up on some of the work that's been going on. Lots of new content, overhauls, and ideas that have been added in. First thing I'd like to mention is the work being done with the ACE interaction system, which has gotten even more in-depth than the original plans for it. Accessories and attachments for vests/helmets/uniforms/packs are now being added to the game as inventory items which you can carry on you. Not only can you carry them, but now it will be a requirement to have the items on you which you would like to attach. Giving more of a thought process to planning out the load/gear you wish to bring along for a mission. Selecting a preconfigured loadout will still give you the option of interacting with the accessories, which would then be added to your inventory once removed. Of course, this is only when using ACE along with USP. Without ACE, the inventory items will still be there, but you'll have no way of interacting with them (which is why the arsenal will still be cluttered with all variants if not using ACE). Only downside to all of this is it means a ton more config work than what was already being done. So needless to say, this update will mainly be a demo for the ACE interactions and whats to come instead of waiting until we've got it functioning for all items. If the effect didn't seem worth the effort, we wouldn't even be doing any of this. But using the ACE interactions has been quite the game-changer IMO and I believe its well worth the work involved. Aside from all of that, we have some new goodies to show as well. Some brand new models have been implemented, with some being replacements for older models that we were already using. Cunico's GPNVG18 model has been replaced with a new one. New model for the PVS15, replacing the old one we were going to use. And then some entirely new assets for the mod, such as the Wilcox L4G19 mount, ANVIS mount, and Tshirt. Then some new WIP for models in the works; Smith Boogie Sport goggles and the ANVIS 9. More images on the subreddit. Enjoy.

Yes, armor values are being corrected and added to all helmets/vests for the update. As for reducing the number of items in VA, have a read over the post I made just a couple before the TW helmet renders and that should give you an answer on that. We have been exploring some options with adding proxies for magazines on the vests, and other items will be added if we can get it working. No guarantee that it will happen though, not much info around about it and its still a bit of a mystery for us. Would be a very cool feature to have.

Now for the reveal of our first bump helmet (teased earlier on), and what better choice than the Team Wendy Exfil Carbon? Still some small tweaks to be made (little texture work, bungees over battery pack, arc adapter properly fitted, etc), but already quite impressive. Looking to be one hell of an update on the way.

Some new WIP for our Safariland holster. Will have many colors/patterns for it, covered and non-covered versions, and mounted at the hip or dropleg (as well as other possible positions depending on the loadout).

Trust me, this is something that we are constantly seeking to improve upon as we move further along. But there is a line that has to be drawn somewhere between what makes it more manageable for the end user versus what makes it more manageable on our side. Having 50+ different PBO's to manage separately would be quite the burden (especially when you consider the ways in which we are already adding PBO modularity), and surely we aren't trying to get ourselves discouraged here. As more assets are added, and the mod continues growing, we will be looking into more ways that we can further break things down. Nothing is set in stone yet and everyone can expect many changes to come about with each update. That will actually be fixed very soon for those that use ACE + USP. The 'Lite' version may or may not ever happen, it was just an idea at one point. But I do believe with our new features using ACE, that idea becomes more and more less likely. The coming update will show some of the improvements when using ACE, such as the Arsenal being decluttered down to the base items for each asset, due to the added ability to customize items on the go. This will effectively eliminate those tons of variants out of sight while still maintaining the option to have them in those setups, as well as switching them around on the fly. PBO's will have optional ACE compat files and pattern packs based by country. The core mod will then only contain Black, Coyote Brown, Ranger Green, Multicam & all MC-Variants. This adds further modularity to the extent of how we want it for now. The only people to suffer of the clutter madness will be those not running ACE, which may or may not be looked into in the near future. Furthermore, we are also implementing full ACE NVG, glasses/goggles, and ear protection support. So needless to say, ACE will be the way to go from here.

Few other items that are nearly ready to be pushed ingame; Crye JPC 2.0, Haley D3CRX, and S&S V-Lite. These are all completely new models (Originally made by OMA) and not reworks of donated assets. Still unsure of what we will do with the original JPC model once the 2.0 is in, may keep it as part of the pack, but either way the 2.0 will become our primary of the two.

Been kinda quiet over here, must mean it's time for some WIP. Was hoping for some better lighting, but unfortunately our team got so caught up with the mod we forgot to pay the power bill this month. Though it did make for a good opportunity to play around with our NODs.
