  1. Glad to see Halo is still alive in Arma, looks like you guys lost one but grew so much more, there is quite a lot of new talented people. Looks like zero and thedidact have returned too. Can't wait to see the planned assets, though im a bit worried about what you said in the subreddit, about limiting the content to halo reach... Shouldn't you try to pick up the best of every halo game? We will not see halo wars vehicles? Halo 3 elephant/hornet? Halo reach content is quite limited.

  3. Guys... Let's just have hope and wait, 9th MEU is hosting a conversation that may fix at least some of the issues, we all love halo too much to let it die this way, and despite their actions I'm sure the devs think the same way, they'll find a way.

  5. I agree, spacenavy gathered amazing people, by just losing 1 of them the mod development is going to be compromised. I'm afraid that losing that many people will cause some planned assets to be cut off, and other kind of issues... What was going to take weeks now could take months. Who is still in the team? It all depends of how many have left. Edit: Scorch, Stirls, and thedog88 left, spacenavy is still awaiting a reply from the rest. Looking at the problems with Unikraken and Zero I'll assume they will not return either, same for theDidact. Basco is probably still around as well (Or not?) as Helljumper501st. Who else? McChaffee?   7. I'm sorry to hear spacenavy had to leave, but at least the mod continues and i am glad for that, after this kind of situations most mods stop its development and I was really worried the same could happen to you. Nice to see the sniper and the lift feature ingame BTW!

  9. I agree it's been a while and I couldn't wait for this next update, I'm only worried this may cause problems inside your team as some of them don't want us to use this update. Also this update has introduced bugs that crashes the game but mostly are caused by the new assets, the assets from the last version work fine and even better as the issues have been fixed. Notice that I never said that you should not have done that. I was only worried about the possible consequences and problems of this update. I'm just going to say, keep up the good work, I hope you can get a hotfix soon :) EDIT: - MA5B automatic firemode does not work. - Marine corpsman does not have night vision. - Something is wrong with the collision model of the falcon, only missiles can take it down, bullets go through it. - Sometime when the falcon explodes game crashes. - Falcon has guided AT missiles? - 20 mm pelican autocannon uses 30 mm rounds. - 20 mm falcon autocannon uses 6 mm rounds. - Spawning longswords crashes the game. - Scorpion is not yet usable. - Frigate has no collision, yet it has an interior, but you cannot land anything neither walk around the inside.

I'm a bit worried about that reply, let me specify why I said that: Sins of the prophets did a similar thing, they released an update that added a supercarier ,which is quite buggy and game crashing, because of the 1st of april. So I thought this was the same, an update for us to enjoy but incomplete and with bugs. I personally enjoyed it, I really wanted to fly the falcon and see the frigate myself, noticed that there are longswords and scorpions, but game crashes when I spawn them. Game also crashes sometimes when the falcon explodes, gunship pelican turret has a very bad precision, bullets pass through the falcon without damaging it, etc. I just hope that this release does not affect your team, not everyone agreed with that release.
  11. I consider this an April fools update lol , quite a lot of bugs and issues, but still flying a falcon is priceless. Just one thing, In the editor description it says the pelican uses 20 mm rounds, but actually ingame it uses 30 mm, I don't know if you guys are going to use either 20 or 30 at the end, most likely 30. Rockets and missiles will be added later I suppose. Marine and green pelicans are the same. Falcon it's supposed to use 20 mm rounds not 6 mm, and a secondary burst firemode. The side HMG are 12.7x99mm. And guided AT missiles in the falcon? Wow I wasn't expecting that. The rest are some bugs and game crashes, but those just require a fix. For example part of the leg of the driver of the stallion is outside the door, etc.

  13. Looks like this is pretty much what you needed: Which means you are going to add at least an Elite right? (Jackals would be nice too, after all they had contact with insurrectionists and shared their weapons). In my view the assets considered to be the covenant arsenal (If ever) should be: Plasma grenades, Type 25 directed energy rifle (SMG), T-55 Directed Energy Rifle/Advanced (Riflemen), Type-25 Directed Energy Pistol , Type 51 Carbine (Marksman) , Type-27 Special Application Sniper Rifle, Type-52 Guided Munitions Launcher/Explosive (AA/AT) and Type-52 Directed Energy Support Weapon (Static). Type-55 Anti-Infantry Stationary Gun (Static) Type-26 Anti-Air Stationary Gun (Static) Type-26 Anti-Vehicle Stationary Gun (Static) Melee weapons, not sure if those could work in Arma. Needler would be OP as its projectiles follow objectives. Elites would not use brute stuff. Vehicles: Type-47 Ultra Heavy Assault Platform (Those things are so OP but so awesome), Type-26 Ground Support Aircraft , Type-26 Assault Gun Carriage, Type-52 Anti-Aircraft Artillery, Type-51 Individual Breaching Carapace, Type-32 Rapid Assault Vehicle , Type-46 Infantry Support Vehicle, Type-29 Troop/Vehicle Transport, Type-30 Light Excavation/Anti-Fortification Platform, Type-31 Exoatmospheric Multi-role Fighter , Type-25 Troop Carrier and Type-48 Light Assault Gun Carriage. Spirit would perform better than the phantom in arma 3. No brute vheicles unless brutes are added, but that would be massive work to do. Meanwhile I'll keep dreaming.
  14. Now that I think about it, shouldn't the barricades be in Misc. Objects/Buildings? After all, these are found both in ground and inside ships. Or you did not consider adding them? It uses some pretty good scripts such as an afterburners mode that changes wing position, and a VTOL mode that makes the engines move. It has some burst effects and quite powerful weapons. In addition the sound engine is soo cool 3:15 : I think it could be a great influence and reference for the Gladius. The only problem is that the creator is not around here anymore, so there is no way to ask him permission to use his stuff :/

  18. I also can't wait for the longsword, that thing is going to be huge! But I think they are going to introduce the Gladius first unless they have done progress with the longsword, not sure if they have already started modeling it or if they are going to use a model from someone else and make it higher poly. When It comes to gunships, yeah we were discussing if the sparrowhawk should be added. At first I really supported the idea but there are some problems with it: - It has capacity only for 1 pilot, which means that it's not going to be able to move the turret due to the way Arma 3 works (That's the problem with the falcon too). The cockpit could be edited to allow 1 pilot and 1 co-pilot to fit in, but that would change its design and it would differ from its original looks. - The landing gear it's very strange and overall the design is quite awkward, I tried to workaround with it to make it look more like an actual gunship, but still the devs were not happy with it. - It uses laser weaponry, and that would have to be changed too. The Pelican would be a good gunship though, the only problem is that due to it's size its quite vulnerable. It withstands infantry and light vehicles quite well, so it would work great as a CAS gunship supporting infantry, it is hard to take one of these down. And while the machinegun turret would work really well, the rockets and missiles would not be stable as they are placed below the wings, and those wings move when it flies. so for example, you would have 1 rocket pod facing upwards, and the other downwards. Trying to aim with that is going to limit the maneuverability of the aircraft, and even tanks could be able to hit it and destroy it before the pelican positions itself to aim and fire the scorpion correctly. against infantry and light vehicles that would not be a problem at all, so its going to be a gunship to support infantry and eliminate hostile infantry, but not really for hunting down heavier vehicles. Then my suggestin would be, since the devs plan to add the hornet, they could make a heavier variant of it with AT and AA missiles. http://th02.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/f/2011/306/f/6/mv_14b_hornet_by_splinteredmatt-d4etql0.png I think that would be an effective and easy fix, and it would fill in that gap. Of course it would loose the transport capabilities of the normal hornet. To sum up we would have: Pelican - MI-24D Hind Falcon - UH-60 Black hawk with an additional fixed frontal weapon. Hornet - AH-6/MH-6 Littlebird Super Hornet (AV-14B Super Hornet) - KA-52 Alligator The KA-52 Alligator its basically a tank hunter that lacks any turret, but instead it has fixed mounted machineguns, rockets and missiles. I really hope the devs like this idea.

About the stock being more skinny and skeleton like, the actual one is quite similar to the one from the comic and has some more futuristic/modern looks, the one from the comic is quite plain. But if you want it skinny and more skeleton like, you can still use it as reference and just delete some parts so it will loose size/volume and it will look that way. I also took the freedom to add the original comic image for comparison purposes, and I did another similar concept with real world parts of weapons. In case you want it to be different, you can simply place the magazine more to the right and place a handguard there. The original does not seem to have a collapsible stock , but it could be done. About the selector switch, yes I've noticed its not in a very good place, I agree that it should be closer to the hand so you can easily switch it quickly with a finger. The switch of the g36c , for example, would work really well. Then about the design, in the comic it is extremely ugly, but I have noticed its similar to the German MP-40 as part of the magazine is used as a handhold. I hope it is a better representation for it. :)
  22. AWESOME! Just something that has crossed my mind, if there are snow warthogs, are you planning to add a third army group with snow/arctic camo? I'm quite happy with the actual state of the warthogs, but here is some constructive criticism with suggestions to improve them: What kind of sights/scopes will every warthog be getting? I hope that at the end all of them get the thermal vision, also the MG warthog has some kind of camera, why not using that as a secondary scope? So you can switch from one another depending your preference/circumstances. Another thing that I have noticed is that the black warthog looks more dark green than black, could it look more like ODST color? Vehicles with black camo could have ODSTS as passengers btw :) Last thing, aren't the green warthog wheels too much brown? These look ok with the brown/desert warthog, and looks like the dark warthog has less and looks more ok. The snow on the white wheels warthog is perfect. Could the green warthog wheels be like the snow ones? (But with mud instead of snow, of course).

Though the feeling should be very similar and offer as much vision as possible.

Because if ammo and grenades could be displayed like there it would be great, also displaying the direction you are facing in the upper part, or even adding a radar like in the halo games, mqrking the enemies around you. Though that should be switched off in 3rd person, it just would feel strange and awkward having that interface in third person. That would be exclusive to Odsts, or marines/army will get something similar too?
