    It's his call in the end ofcourse, it being his mod, but I do agree that the ingame lynx looks a lot more similair to our dutch lynxes, specially as the tailrotor and entire tailsection of the other helicopter is a mismatch. I guess the skids and nose are the only things really stand out as being different. Also, if my sources are correct, then we don't actually fly any lynxes anymore: http://www.karo-aviation.nl/photo/pages/mldlynx.htm "The last Dutch Lynx flight was performed on 11 September 2012 by number 261, who flew her last hour ever leading a DHC helicopter flypast, after which she landed at De Kooij ... end of an era." So armaverse being in the future, we might be looking at a replacement helicopter by that time again for the role the lynx had (the official replacement is the NH90).
  2. Agreed, and while we're on the subject of detection on things that are hard to spot. I think the SDV and any stealthchoppers/jets should have some form of actual stealth implemented, maybe unable to detect them until they get within a certain close range or something. I guess the tab lock isn't helping with that, but might be fun to brainstorm for ideas. Having a chopper with some form of sonar and torpedo's or something would obviously make stuff a lot more intresting xD Doubt BIS will go that far on their own though :P

    Nice, so the actual lynx model isn't to your liking? :P I kinda have a thing for the ka 60, so consider me sold on that model xD Any plans then for the armed version aswell?

    Yey another mod to improve upon the armor combat ^^ Looking forward to this (imo tanks should be hard to kill). Would be intresting to hear from a BIS dev as to why they chose to go with the hitpoint system when they have such an elaborate armor penetration under the hood. Balancing issues?
  5. As you say, I did a round of CTI with a mate of mine yesterday evening. And while he's streaming and has settings on high/very high with smooth fps (i7-3770 and crossfire), I'm stuck in a village with npc's doing 15-20 fps on everything disabled/low with 1km viewdistance with my amd fx8120 8core 3.10ghz, amd radeon hd6870. Now I realise I won't be playing it on the settings that he's getting, but sp I can pull of high settings (in the campaign for instance) and editor missions without problems (do have to keep the viewdistance down to about 2-3km). I should add he's hosting the mp session from his pc (yesterday atleast) usually from his server though. I doubt there's a lot of faulty scripts etc. So is the amd taking such a hit in MP? I know I have to upgrade some stuff at some point, but I didn't think this game would be practicly unplayable with settings that are above the recommended ones even. Will try the amd ramdisk to see if it helps in any way. Edit: noticed aswell that while running, sprinting, driving (moving in general) I got stuttery fps, and it seemed to smoothe out as soon as I stood still to take aim again.

    That would be awesome :p little nitpick here, but we also use the hk416d10rs and d14.5rs (and I believe I have read about them using the hk417 aswell). There's other weapons aswell, but imo those are not seen much or being phased out altogether. mp5, uzi, p90, accuracy international awm, m107. Btw elcan's rule. I'm not even the creator of this mod, but I'm really excited to see how this mod progresses ^^

    Oo So the AAF tank will defenitly shit all over the Merkava than xD Or is their anything planned for the merkava aswell (still hoping for that uparmored version:o) Irl I guess the Leopard mbt revolution is a bit more capable for tank vs tank combat than the merkava, with the new armorplates, upgraded FCS etc. Also, Winning!

    I am actually curious about config entries like that aswell, I feel like the t100 has all the other tanks beat in armor (just a quick test of using a kuma). both the Slammer, and Kuma go down after 1 hit on the front already 3/3 times I checked it. the t100 took anything from 2 to 5 shots. Is the armor of the t100 better, or is this a case of deflecting shots with the sloped turret? I'm by no means an expert to how far these configs and codes go to mirror deflection, armor penetration etc, so anyone that can explain, or was it just random chance?:P It'd be fun to hear the weaknesses of each tank (obviously irl the Merkava has very weak armor at the hatch in the back, is this modelled ingame aswell?) Also, used the Moira (is it called that? the Warrior ifv) and spend ALL the AP rounds on the t100 and it still stood there with no real signs of damage.

    Why is it always when I look at the g36 I fall in love with the thing :D It's like a work of art for some reason, and you captured it amazingly. the g36a2 looks kinda futuristic even, tying in with the whole armaverse. Also, the way the Puma is made is gorgeous, the drivers view and gunners view > BIS' views on that imo. Nice to see the mg4 in this aswell :D. @Tybo25: That thing looks awesome, all that sloped turret armour :D. Another option ofcourse (in keeping with the "it's real, but kinda new techie") would be the Leopard 2a7+. I'm not even sure if the germans actually have it in service now, or if it's just displayed once as a soon to be mbt for the Bundeswehr.

    Ooh dear, I hope a modder is following this thread and feels compelled to help in this xD A ship capable of carrying 600 marines, 170 apc's/33 mbt's and 6 lynxes or nh90's. I can see the missions already :p I said it in another thread and I'll say it again, times like these I wish I could mod for arma xD All I can do at this moment is show my admiration, and maybe ask some questions, take some pictures in septembre when it's on display again xD Edit: Found out that all (-UIM and recon) the units carry 30rnd 9mm mags (scorpion mags), so they have no pistolrounds ;)

    Merkava has the engine in the front though (don't know if that's modelled as such). Reason irl for that is to offer even greater protection to the crew, so I guess damaging the front irl is hard aswell (or atleast downright destroy the entire tank), so in a way it's not strange ingame to be a beast at the front. I'm guessing irl an engine won't blow the entire tank up :p But if the engine is a weakspot now, that means the front would be more vulnerable than the back for easy kills for the merkava. Times like these I wish I could script or mod for arma... would really like to help on more then a play test basis :p

    Although I like the idea, I think we're getting ahead of things then :p Navy-wise we do have some sweet stuff, fregats like the "Zeven Provinciënklasse" and the "Hollandklasse", along with minesweepers, logistical ships and an old torpedoship even xD. I reckon all that stuff isn't on the planning, and it's not per se part of the marines, but the navy. Obviously wouldn't mind if it did make it ingame somehow.

    oow man, just right off the bat, 3 CSAT at rifleman vs me in a few vehicles. Kuma after 1 shot had us all disembarking already, second shot killed the tank (along with us). any less than a mbt like ifv's and apc's are almost all red in 1 hit from the HEAT rounds. Using your trophy simulation increased the survivability of the Merkava tenfold :p 3 shots were shrugged off before all 3 at rifleman started firing in sync (thus negating the APS). Started of with a broken turret and gun, followed by a firefight of my disembarked crewmen vs the csat soldiers. So the HEAT is an enormously powerfull tool now against even the heaviest armor. Realism side of me likes it very much (I hate having to always be an AT rifleman because my AI friends can't seem to kill tanks unless there's already 6 casualties and 5 rockets fired at a MBT). The balancing side of it though... 1 AT rifleman is in pretty much every squad, usually more, which would make being in an ifv, mrap, mbt a nightmare for any player at that point :p. An APS for all types of armor would (as seen on the merkava) really help with this. Just my 2 cents for a quick 10min test. Really digging all the nice stuff you're coming up with Bakerman. Don't know if there's a ticket for your suggestion, but with a link, you've got yourself another vote.

    Now that you mention it, yes you are right xD The marines here only have some landing craft and amphibious transports. Unfortunatly we don't have a whole lot to offer anymore in the armor department even in the army :( sold pretty much all those leopards to canada and indonesia :'( Thanks for the reply, and once again thanks a bunch for this mod.

    As always, liking the addon a lot. Just noticed in 1.4 that there's a small typo (hope I'm not considered a grammar nazi now:p). putting down an armor group, it says amvibious assault, which should be amphibious. And I noticed that all the grenadiers in the rifleman squads lack any grenades Oo (for their grenade launchers, thrown grenades look fine). I'm curious if you'd be willing to tell us if there's anything else on the planning? weapons, heavier armor-wise etc. Obviously if you don't no problem, guessing you don't wanna give any false hopes etc xD.

    The kuma is the leopard 2a4 (since this is the primary export version) with an upgrade package basicly, rheinmetalls MBT revolution package which (according to their own words) puts it on par and perhaps even better than the leopard 2a6. My country being a former owner of the a4 and a6 versions, I love this tank with a passion, just wish it wasn't on AAF xD Anyway, the a4 version is way older than the Merkava mk IV as it's from '85. That being said, the revolution package is from 2010, with all the state of the art goodies (extra armor plating, better targeting systems, protection systems etc.) I for one am still hoping that there will be uparmored versions of the Merkava (as seen on beta pictures with a commander gun and ERA plating).     PlayWithSix, if you're not familiair with it, it's a tool that let's you download mods en automaticly make shortcuts for your arma with downloaded mods. Personally not a fan of PWS, but it's your choice ofcourse ;) happy new year btw :P

    Great additions ^^. Got 2 little bugs for you though :P woodland camo AT troops will find it incredibly hard to do their role, seeing as they have no AT launcher equipped :P And the UIM men - marksmans don't have a scope (I'm guessing this isn't intended atleast, kinda defeats the purpose of being a marksman xD). In love with the pack for the rest :) Don't know if you have any plans of upgrading even more into it (like for instance as others have stated a dutch leopard, even though it's not the one we used, looks fairly similair though). Anyway, happy holidays etc. ;)

    Absolutely amazing, just 1 question. It looks kinda shiny on the first picture (the nose and wing), is that still being fixed or is it just the way the sun hits or something? :p Impressive work in any case :)

    Active camoflauge does look cool :P Another APS to maybe consider is the AMAP-ADS, which is pretty much a hardkill APS designed to save weight (only adding 140kg) and responds in microseconds (faster than any other APS apparently). Tests exceed expectations and although it's german made, there's a lot of export of it already (swedish know it as AAC and the french know it as Shark APS) and atleast 1 asian country has already bought it for their tanks and apc's. (maybe even paving the way for a chinese knock off look-a-like for the opfor?)

    Looking good, nice find on those hidden textures, dare I say it might even look better than the entire black mx (which does look maybe a bit too glossy). They're looking really good in any case :)

    Hehe no problem, I figured the best way for non modding folks like me to help, is to at least help out the modders whenever you can:P Me being a curious person started reading some more about the rheinmetall package. It's not a hardkill APS like the trophy on the Merkava or the t100's APS (don't know if you plan on adding that one aswell, it appears to be the Drozd 2 APS which was cancelled but suggested for the Black Eagle tank). Seems it does detect laser lockons and disrupts the locks, but an unguided rpg seems to go through just fine, only having it's upped armour to protect it at that point. Might be intresting for armaverse in any case (making the AAF's tank a little weaker and technologicly impaired compared to the superpowers tanks). Anyway, thought I'd help a little ;) Good luck!
