  1. Hi I have a strange error, and Im pretty sure its my fault because its so obvious, but still:

All Typhoons work perfectly, including the optional skins like Luftwaffe etc. BUT if I select the British SR1 Typhoon there seems to be a missing texture:

Any ideas? Again, its only the British SR1. SR2 and every other plane has no texture error.

  2. I can see a Mig21 aircraft, i have already released such an aircraft. The other images look interesting, especially the SAM sites.

This is a completly new MiG-21, with an accurate cockpit. I think the "old" MiG-21 that was released was an OFP-port and had a very strange cockpit with two MFDs from the Harrier (I dont know if that was the same as yours, I only saw the one in the PRACS Takistani pack). Citizensnip is currently working on multiple planes that so far only existed as OFP-ports, like the MiG-23 or Su-24.

Anyways, keep a close eye on flashpoint.ru. Citizensnip releases most of his stuff here as well (like his Syrian MiG-23 or Su-15), but some stuff is only hosted over there (Like the MiG-25 or the Yak-28). Its all high-quality, with detailed cockpits.

He hasnt released any of his SAM stuff though. But he really has a lot in the pipeline:

  3. sorry, this thread is not about bug fixing, optimization. As i said in my first post, here i wish people who actually enjoy the game, would share their positive thoughts/experience.

You want a huge circlejerk about how awesome and flawless the game is? No critics allowed?

    You are a joke.

  4. I agree with metalcraze, I dont have to compare ArmA III to Arrowhead. It has fewer content than even vanilla ArmA II. But the amount of content is not my main problem, its the quality. In every ArmA series including OFP there were two easily distinguishable factions, each utilizing their own set of unique weapons and vehicles. Now we have two factions that are pretty much the same, using reskins and Frankenstein-vehicles.

  5. In my opinion ArmA III falls short content-wise in three areas:

    1) No planes (Especially Non-CAS planes...We finally have beautiful 3D clouds, but nothing to explore them)

    2) No unique enough OPFOR with really distinctively different equipment

    3) No military "doodads". Stuff thats easily forgotten, but appears in every modern conflict. (SAM sites, radar stations, bunkers...).

As a proof how important point 3) is I created a little "story" in the Screenshot thread, using only Non-CAS planes and ground objects. I know ArmA is supposed to be an Infantry simulator, but still you could create hundreds of missions and stories with those objects and planes!

  6. So now every player should create a new thread to say what are the types of content we think is he/she missing in A3?

Aren't enough threads that cover all your requests? BTW why should BI consider your list and not all the suggestions that all the other players have made?

You are right, I think there were indeed enough threads saying that content is "missing". But these were full of flaming, general arguing, and hardly any constructive feedback.

Therefore lets get a bit constructive: You think content is missing? Allright, WHAT is missing? What should be the focus of the DLCs?

So please BIS...Im absolutly ready to pay money for additional content via DLCs, but you have to talk to us. Give us a "roadmap" of what to expect. And please consider my list of content.

  8. Intercepting a SR-71 Blackbird with the MiG-25 Foxbat. Or: Hey BIS! Even Non-CAS Planes can be fun! Give us some for ArmA III!

Soviet SAM site detects incoming plane. The operators are unable to identify it and are confused by its flight characteristics. So they decide against the use of their S-75 missiles and instead contact the nearest interceptor base.

A MiG-25 takes off to investigate the strange contact.

Interception of the NATO spy plane...Its a Blackbird! No wonder the SAM site was so confused.

    Oh Hello!

  9. 1) Short term: Planes. You have an amazing view distance, with no pop-ups, FINALLY 3D clouds, but only one plane to fly with?

    2) Long term: Proper OPFOR, with completly different equipment than BLUFOR. Same level of distinction as between Soviets and America in OFP. Get rid of all the reskins and Frankensteins.

Well I would actually like BIS to take care of that, but...Yeah.

  10. Im one of the harshest critics here, look at my other posts.

But I have to say there IS progress. Finally walking and shooting feels more direct, way more immersive. The problem is the game was released way to early. Content is missing, we have stuff that clearly was only supposed to serve as placeholders, perfomance is atrocious etc. I think in a year or so with DLCs and Addons that introduce the same amount of game-changing elements like "Operation Arrowhead" we should see the "real" ArmA 3, like we imagined it.

The problem is BIS released Arma 3 in its current state as a full-prized "complete" game, and now refuses to talk about upcoming content. We know there will be a free campaign, and they will "keep supporting" it. But that could mean anything. What we need right now is a transparent roadmap of upcoming content, what they plan to do with the game.

  11. Any ideas how to contact Ghost? Email? I would like to ask him permission to modify his addon into a VF-1 valkyrie, without "backpack". I do have some addon making experience and Im sure I could remove the backpack and adjust a few vertices on my own.

    Thanks in advance!

(And sorry for digging up the thread, but I hope my request for contact info to get permission is constructive enough)

  12. It's the logical action to take, due that the devs have said that they will abandon the Arma 3 project, no one had bought the game and etc. etc.

Oh wait! The devs have always been working for years after the releases improving the games hugely and adding some content for free.

But it's ok, not everybody has to have the same taste. Farewell!

I know the Devs always kept making free updates and DLCs for ArmA, but still, this time they really have to address the community and give a definite answer. I could deal with the shitty state the game is in right now when I knew that in six months I would have a complete game. But right know all I see is "Hm we may reintroduce the old F-35 model" and some weird announcement regarding "paid mods" (I still dont know what exactly is meant by that).

  13. Your MOD with it's SP missions and Campaign is with Auto install.exe

This is great but I was wondering if the Auto Install will recognize the I've got my Campaigns folder in EXTENSIONS folder and not the main directory

along with the other folders like MISSIONS and MP MISSIONS.

I've searched all over for the Campaign of yours and cannot find it, although I do have the SP missions installed correctly for CSLA.

Could you upload the Campaign separately? Otherwise, I've got to move the Campaigns folder out of EXTENSIONS back to Main Directory and

    re-install your MOD again.

    Cheers.

The "Auto Install Exe" is just a fancy .rar Archive. Just let it install everything into a folder on your Desktop, and then you can manually copy all the folders to their designated places.

  14. They introduced a new release mechanism which is: initial release + 3 DLCs. The initial release sees a minimal asset release suitable for either balanced or imbabalced gameplay (subject to mission design). Many people seem to either ignore, not understand, or simply not like this.

    Hey buddy.

If I crash my car into a wall, I do not "introduce a new parking mechanism". I have an accident.

If a game company releases a game that severly lacks in content and has to release three thirds of it in DLCs, they do not "Introduce a new release mechanism" they simple didnt finish their game.

Points for the Marketing Blabla though.

  15. sorry mate thats not going to happen, the game has been released and they are now entering phase 2....damage control and PR fluff.

Yeah they are doing great with the PR...."Hm there is a shitstorm about lack of content? Lets tell them we want money for mods now xD"

  16. As has been mentioned before, ArmA2 had a ton of assets, many of which were brought in from ArmA1.

This argument is brought up so often, and I wonder: WHY SHOULD WE CARE? I dont give a fuck about why ArmA 2 had so many diverse units, I dont care that they brought them over from ArmA 1, I dont give a shit that they found a pot of gold and were able to afford more modellers. The only thing that matters is: They were there.

Many units, and very diverse ones for each faction on top of that. BIS should have looked at that and said "Allright guys, we need to live up to that with ArmA 3". Instead they didnt, delivered only a handful of vehicles, which are not diverse at all.

I'm afraid you have me at a loss here, I did not say anything about forgetting A2 and only counting OFP, and as the figures have shown, A3 has the most rotary, the biggest usable maps, the most SP missions, and also superior in many aspects to that of A1 and lacking some to that of A2, this was presented as a fact only post with some of my opinion down there with it for discussion. I'm not sure what you're going on about here.

Wow the most SP missions? (But now campaign). The biggest maps? Great...

People are upset about the lack of units, but most of all about the lack of DIVERSITY. Operation Flashpoint, ArmA 1, ArmA 2, each had diverse units. You immeditaly knew you were fighting agains BlueFor or OpFor. If Operation Flashpoint would be like ArmA III, the Soviets wouldnt have any T-72 or T-80 tanks. Instead they would use reskinned M1A1s.
