RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)
GDent replied to soul_assassin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
it doesn't show up in the repo manager for myself and at least one other person who replied in the SIX support page. I wonder if I did something wrong. I did look past the capital letters and through the whole list.- 16577 replies

RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)
GDent replied to soul_assassin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
The issue is it doesn't seem to appear in Six Updater's repo manager, so I have to manually upload and update the mods, which is kind of a pain I tried contacting the SIX guys but I don't know if I'll receive a reply- 16577 replies

RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)
GDent replied to soul_assassin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
hello, Is RHS: Escalation going to be in Play withSIX, or is it always going to be separate? Doesn't really matter, just making sure.- 16577 replies

I'm wondering, if ACRE2 is going to switch entirely to its own external program for handling VON, will it mute mumble/teamspeak automatically? Also, if I use voice activation detection (which happens to work even better in ACRE2 than it did before, even if it's unsupported), will I be forced to switch to PTT?

I'm trying to use the VA to edit a unit, but I can't really change what's in its backpack, vest, or shirt. It always looks full and I can't choose exactly what I want, just ammo or certain miscellaneous items. Does anyone know a way around this? I'd really love to switch from LEA to VA but it seems impossible thanks to these stupid limitations.

ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread
GDent replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I had a new idea to get around the limitations of the Virtual Arsenal It would be great if we had a button or something that just said "Copy gear/loadout to clipboard," which has basically the same functionality as the Export button in Virtual Arsenal. Since VA doesn't allow you to remove all the items from your carrier/backpack/shirt, this mod or script would make it so you can go to the editor with the Virtual Arsenal Anywhere mod, create your unit, then place a few boxes, pick up the remaining items and fully gear up, then hit the "copy gear to clipboard" button. It would be even better if you could do it with crates and vehicles too. For example, I put a bunch of stuff in a vehicle for a mission, then I go up to the vehicle and scroll to the menu item "Copy vehicle cargo to clipboard" and then I can just paste it to the vehicle's init. No more manual loadout editing, everything is done in the game. -
How do you edit a unit's inventory/ammo with Virtual Arsenal? It seems limited
GDent replied to GDent's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
That's certainly one of the issues. Honestly, if I could just be playing and have a "copy loadout to clipboard for export" button then I'd be happy. I could then just combine VA with the VA Anywhere mod and then pick up any other missing items in the editor, export to clipboard, and create my units that way. Can you post the feedback page? I looked at the tracker a while ago and didn't find any replies to these issues. -
How do you edit a unit's inventory/ammo with Virtual Arsenal? It seems limited
GDent replied to GDent's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Because VA provides a visual way to edit unit loadouts. I can see exactly what the unit is going to look like and all the gear is organized in a nice way. It even provides an export function, but it's all useless unless I can get around the issue with gear already being present inside the carriers, shirts, and backpacks. -
How do you edit a unit's inventory/ammo with Virtual Arsenal? It seems limited
GDent replied to GDent's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I apologize, but I don't understand how that helps me create a mission with predefined loadouts for my units. I'll explain clearly just to make sure we are on the same page. I want to use Virtual Arsenal to load units with certain items, like guns, ammo, and uniforms, so that they will start the mission already carrying those items. I do not want players to access VAS or VA while playing the mission. I do not want them to ever respawn. When the mission starts, they should simply have the items I gave them with VA. The problem with Virtual Arsenal is that it seems impossible to edit backpacks and carriers fully. They are clearly full of items, but I cannot remove those items within VA. I was wondering if anybody knew a way around this. -

No. I want to edit a unit's inventory for a premade mission, I don't want them to access VAS while the mission is running. -
CBA - Community Base Addons - ARMA 3
GDent replied to vipermaul's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hey guys. I've since set up a Linux server and it's been working quite well, but I found out what my crash problem was. I suspected it for a long time but I wasn't able to test it. If you have a Windows virtual machine as your Arma server and it only has one CPU core, CBA will cause it to crash for some reason. I was finally able to change it to 4 cores and now the server doesn't crash a few minutes into the mission. I hope this can provide some answers for other frustrated admins who seem to be having unexplained crashes. -
ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread
GDent replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
It's in the Main Menu -> Learn it's meant for just looking at different loadouts, but there's an export function that lets you paste the loadout to a unit in the editor. but this doesn't work too well because you can't fully edit backpack and carrier contents, or vehicle cargo or crate contents -

GDent replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Is there any confirmation on that? I haven't heard anything from BI about it. I don't know of a better way to edit loadouts except LEA, but that's kind of a pain after VA has spoiled me -
ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread
GDent replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
There are some issues with the Virtual Arsenal that I think could be resolved by modders. Backpacks and vests in Virtual Arsenal are full of items that do not appear in VA, making it impossible to empty them to create your own loadouts Certain items cannot be added to units in VA because of what they're carrying. For example, if I choose the MX rifle, I can only add MX ammo to the unit. This is bad for ammo bearers, for example. Crates and vehicles are not included in Virtual Arsenal. It would be very useful to be able to edit vehicle or crate inventories with VA for premade missions. Finally, it would be nice to be able to organize saved units/loadouts in folders and subfolders. VA only has a single, long list of loadouts, but I'd like to be able to organize my loadouts in categories such as PMC, US, NATO, etc. I don't see BIS doing much about this for a while, but if a mod can come out and make these enhancements, I'd be very happy. -
Max Los Angeles Police Department MOD
GDent replied to maxjoiner's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
along with what I and others have said in this thread, look at these two rules again: It's not possible to use my MOD in private servers without my permission. Armaholic is the only one page of download authorized by author, re-upload elsewhere is not allowed. A lot of people are going to want to use this mod, so I don't see how you expect very many of them to PM you just to download 22 mb and use them in their missions, within a completely private setting. With the upload rule, they're not allowed to put this mod on their custom repositories, making it so everyone who uses this mod, permission or not, has to download it manually and enable it before ever using it. you've made something nice, but you've placed restrictions on it so almost nobody can enjoy it. if everybody followed your rules, I can see a max of maybe 5 servers using this mod. please be prepared to see it in places where you didn't allow it, because otherwise you're going to be very stressed out and angry. -
Max Los Angeles Police Department MOD
GDent replied to maxjoiner's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
excuse me, but how exactly do you want people to use this mod? do you have to manually download it before using it in a public server? if we can't upload it to private mod repositories nor can we use it within private groups without even asking for permission, I don't see how anybody anywhere is going to use this mod other than maybe your group. -
Linux server mods won't start when in a subfolder
GDent posted a topic in ARMA 3 - SERVERS & ADMINISTRATION
The topic title basically says it. I had a very simple startup script for starting the server on Linux with mods, but as soon as I tried tidying up and moving them into a subfolder, the mods won't start with the server anymore. The server just starts vanilla. Here is my startup script. The mods are in ./mods, where the arma server folder is ~/steamcmd/arma3 ./arma3server -name=server -profile=server -config=server.cfg -mod=./mods/@cba_a3\;./mods/@agm\;./mods/@alive\;./mods/@acre2\;./mods/@allinarmaterrainpack\;./mods/@arp2\;./mods/@asdg_jr\;./mods/@c17a3\;./mods/@caf_ag\;./mods/@caf_ag_audiopatch\;./mods/@drongosartillery\;./mods/@fa18_a3\;./mods/@fhq_accessories\;./mods/@hafm_hmmwv_a3\;./mods/@hiddenidentitypack\;./mods/@js_jc_su35\;./mods/@mcc_sandbox_a3\;./mods/@nato_russian_sf_weapons\;./mods/@r3f_armes\;./mods/@rav_lifter_a3\;./mods/@rh_m4_a3\;./mods/@rq-11_raven_ab_a3\;./mods/@us_helos_kimi Any ideas on why it won't work? I tried removing the . in ./mods, as well as the /, nothing seems to do it. I don't want to have the mods in the root folder if possible. Thank you. -
RHS: Armed Forces of the Russian Federation A3 WIP Thread
GDent replied to soul_assassin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I really do hope a lot of mods start using RHS as a dependency, given that many factions use Russian equipment and vehicles. that would really reduce clutter. it would basically be just downloading extra textures for camo and then some units, but they use the RHS guns and vehicles -
I'm having the same issue as M4rK3Tin6, the A-10A seems to explode as soon as I get in it in a dedicated server

ALiVE - Advanced Light Infantry Virtual Environment
GDent replied to wolffy.au's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
hello, quick question I want to use the Player Persistence module so that if people crash or their electricity goes out, etc. they can rejoin the mission from where they left off. However, I don't know how to do this. If I just place the player persistence module in the mission and I try testing it on the server, I can exit the mission but I can't come back because my slot is gone. How can I properly use player persistence? -
well, any way to get these objects to show up in Zeus or MCC? I just discovered that you can edit a mission in 3D and then save it to SQM and now I can't find these great objects in Zeus or MCC and it's a huge bummer
-
EDIT: I fixed it. Search "possible fix for dedicated servers" in the OP.

CBA - Community Base Addons - ARMA 3
GDent replied to vipermaul's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I have a quick question about my server problem. I tried running the Arma 3 server with only CBA running on both my computer and the server, and it crashes only on the server. Never crashes on my home machine. But I realized something possibly important: The server is a virtual machine. Would this have any effect on it crashing with CBA? I can't imagine why, but maybe this has something to do with it. -
MCC Sandbox 3 - Dynamic mission creating tool for ArmA 3
GDent replied to shay_gman's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I have a very quick question. I've never used MCC before Is it possible to place objects (buildings, chairs, objects from mods, whatever) into the mission and then save it? I want to use some kind of editor in 3D to place objects for use in missions because placing them in 2D is a huge pain. Can I save it to a mission without the need for MCC to run on the server after that, or does MCC need to be running to restore the object placements and all that? EDIT: Just found out the answer is yes. Sorry, please ignore.
