If they need to release a little early to beat BF4 or whatever, fine, as long as they continue to work to finish their product (and not simply rely on the mod community to finish it for them). It would be interesting to see how much BIS spent developing ARMA3 compared to BF4 or GTAV, games that will all probably be released at about the same price point.
Considering the mod support and the scenario editor ArmA3 does in fact potentially way more content than most games out there, especially when taking into account how the Battlefield series has changed from BF2 to BF4.
In this case I definitely agree with your point.

I've been waiting for a mod that features an actualy multi-role aircraft for ArmA3, gonna give this mod a shot!
-
I'm mostly okay with the quality of the release content so far, what really bugs me however is the amount of content that's gonna be in the game according to the ArmA3 website in comparison to what was included in ArmA2 when it first launched in 2009, I would personally want more infantry weapon systems in different variations as well as civilian vehicles, I just don't think that the current amount is sufficient considering that ArmA is a military simulator.
-
There was a police car in one of the 2012 Gamescom showcases if I remember correctly, I also hope that it gets added to the game.
-
Advanced Combat Environment(short ACE) once it comes out for ArmA3, it's literally making the game a full military simulation rather than a semi-realistic one, other than that I can highly suggest JSRS soundmod which makes pratically every sound in the game more realistic.

I think if you want to play arma you will have to get used to stuff like this, because it's been a problem with the engine from the very start (OFP 12 years ago) from what I've been told.Yeah, there was always some problem with atleast one kinda object ingame, in ArmA2 it was the buildings in ArmA1 it was some other stuff....

Wassup, been playin' the Arma series for about 3 to 4 years now and finally decided to check out the forums, I also have antlers hence the name "TheMightyMooseKing".

I believe the new Altis map to be one of the best ArmA maps up to date, it's very versatile and it looks really realistic, you can definitely see that it resembles a real life island, unfortunately however I have two issues with it:
Mid/Long Range Terrain textures, they just seem to be very blurry even on maximum graphics settings.
The Salt lakes are dry every time of the year.
Other than that I really enjoy playing on this new map and it definitely shows what the ArmA 3 engine is capable of.

The movement on rocks system was kinda tweaked in a previous patch making it atleast a viable option to actually walk on cliffs/rocks rather than walking next to them, unfortunately though you will still get stuck on or glitch inside rocks pretty often, I would definitely advise the DEVs to check that again, I also believe that there is already a post about this issue on the feedback tracker, I'm trying to search for the link currently.

Great work Nordkindchen, I think this game definitely needs updated mid range textures, currently they just look horrible and unrealistic.
-
I agree with this, I'm so annoyed that whenever I put a 30 round 6.5 magazine into an MX-SW it still looks like a 100 round magazine, also considering that it's currently impossible to use 100 round 6.5 magazines in any other MX type weapon.

What I personally would like to see is proper cover utilization of AI soldiers without them being ordered to do so, currently, in most cases they're just going prone basically making themselves easy targets to shoot at once they are getting fired upon. You can still order them to take cover, however in most cases they will still just go prone or hide prone behind rocks while actually facing the rock itself, obscuring their own vision.
Tested on highest difficulty with highest skill settings on the AI soldiers by the way.

I still think a 'Ambient Vehicle Wrecks' module would work just fineAs long as it doesn't randomly place vehicles on sidewalks and inside walls that would be the best solution there is in my opinion.
-
That's a great idea actually if you ask me, I kinda missed actually working plate carriers in the previous ArmA games. Also I believe that VBS2 possesses actual bullet proof vests, im not entirely sure of that however.

(I think grenades reflected by an invisible shield and such things)edit: maybe
It's the same with trucks currently, it's impossible to throw anything inside the back, kinda like the trucks got deflector shields if you ask me :).

As somebody who's played the game series for roughly three years, the greatest issue for me has since literally the day I started playing the game series been the fact that there were no deployable bipods, sure there are a lot of mods which fix this issue and which in fact do come up with great solutions for this, but the game is still labeled a semi-realistic military simulator and I would actually prefer to have the feature in the game itself as it then would not require any complicated scripting and such in order to be used by the community.
P.S About the last part: By that I mean that some modders would have to sacrifice their time which they could in case of the ACE mod for instance use on other much more important things rather than this issue which derives from the game itself.

I've actually tried out the "suppressing fire" command a few times and unfortunately it seemed like it didn't do anything. :(

Arma 3 Tactical Guide - Tactics, Techniques, & Procedures 3
in ARMA 3 - GENERAL

Great work you've done with the guide dude, I believe that everybody who's interested in actually playing ArmA how it's supposed to be, as a military simulator, should either read this guide or should attend actual military training, I'm definitely glad that somebody actually had enough motivation and time to write more than 300 pages on how to apply real life tactics and techniques in a videogame, and I definitely hope that some of the casual players on most public servers actually take the time to read it.
Btw, in the guide you also stated that you were in the Marines, in that case: Thanks for your service.
