    Am in same boat. It seems Arma 3's VR mode might be perfect for proof-of-concept DK2 missions (high fps). All we need is official support.....................................................

    Weapon sway

    Been playing/loving BIS games since OPF demo, so I know a little whereof I speak... I'm sadly finding the infantry experience in A3 more frustrating than fun. The excessive weapon sway means I feel I'm controlling a heavy vehicle rather than a human being. Long range engagements aren't so bad, as you have time to go prone, but urban combat is ruined as you are constantly battling the excessive sway, which merely feels like a phoney device to prevent run-n-gun COD style combat. While I don't - repeat DO NOT - want superhuman COD style gameplay, I really think the sway needs to be dialed back a lot. Or at least, it should increase more gradually the longer the weapon is held in one position. At the moment, CQB in A3 Beta is less about reflexes and adrenaline and more about staying put and hoping targets appear (authentic perhaps, but boring). When I move into a town I really need the combat to be fast, furious and terrifying, not a drawn-out game of hide-and-seek. O.T.: Love Altis though - unbelievably beautiful, especially at magic hour :icon_hug:

    Agreed. Slow pace and separate head/weapon make Arma PERFECT for VR.....they could release a special low detail VR setting, purely optimised for frame rate.

    So....ahem, anyone hear that Eagle Dynamics will be at the Oculus E3 booth wowing the crowds with their rift support for DCS World?....wonder if Bis have any plans yet to get on the VR bandwagon.....:rolleyes:........ ....or are they still maintaining radio silence on their plans for any Rift support in A3? :(

    Has anyone got A3 working on the Rift yet with 3rd party stereo injectors? With just over a month until DK2 starts shipping, I'd love to know if there's any chance of playing A3 in VR!!? (I've already got my framerate to 75+ by dialling down graphics settings so am almost ready to go....)

    Ordered DK2 one month ago, so July/August ship date. I really hope BIS adds support by then. I'm planning to turn graphics down as far as I have to to get a solid 75fps, which with an r290x @1080p should be achievable. Apparently the new Oculus SDK with timewarping works quite well to help smooth out frame rates....

    This thread.... anyone who thinks the OR isn't the future of gaming (including the Arma series) needs to unjam their head and start informing themselves. In fact, because it models head and body/gun movement separately, Arma 3 is well placed to become THE flagship FPS for the Rift...if the devs are willing. For those with valid concerns over framerates (DK2 is confirmed @75hz, CV1 is rumoured @90hz), word is that Oculus will release proprietary software which interpolates frames for systems which can't keep up. Also, you can just turn the graphical quality down, as framerate is far more critical than pretty pictures to achieve presence. Input will need some thought, but with a boatload of new haptic, motion tracked controllers in development, it's lazy logic to think we'll be stuck with mouse + WASD for much longer.
  14. Some advice please - have installed the mod but can't find any MP servers running it. What should I put in the mission/host filter?

    Understood. Just trying to highlight a few possible issues from the clients' perspective, e.g how will we know that an update has been published? Six-Updater automatically tells you when an update is available. When you have dozens of mods installed this can save an awful lot of time.

    Great mod - thank you. But I'm a bit confused about your updating policy. Your website is the only place permitted to host the files to "make updating easier". But surely services like Six-Updater would make updating much, much (almost infinitely) easier for your clients (rather than needing to redownload and install the whole mod every time)?

  21. I tried placing an OPFOR unit within the trigger area but it vanishes briefly too. There is no HQ as only the Military Civilian Placement module is in use (the mission is to clear a town of OPFOR).
  22. Stuck on a problem: I put in a trigger to end mission when all OPFOR are killed (i.e not present). Problem is, when the Alive profiler module starts up it removes all units for a split second then regenerates them - meaning mission over within a few seconds ;) Is there a workaround?
  23. Fantastic mod (even I can use it - nuff said). Real game-changer for me. One feature request for OPCOM module: the ability to specify invasion intensity. At the moment, OPCOM sends all units piling right in, meaning fast units arrive in the AO first and get picked off. Would a higher invasion intensity be possible, i.e. could the OPCOM issue 'wave attacks', where all its units regroup every 100 metres or so to prevent force dilution? Great work - thank you for hours of editor-fun!

  25. Just tried out this mod and I have to say it's incredible. Hats off to you Kju for all the hard work. Does anyone know where I can find missions which make use of the combined A3/A2 content?
