It's "fixed" if you use Arma 3 diag executable in the dev branch. If that helps anyone.- 16573 replies

I think most people understands what the idea behind the APEX coop campaign design choices were (Zipper explained it perfectly), just we don't agree with it, at all. As I said before. BI making a coop super-casual campaign for APEX is like Apple trying to sell us that they are the most open source friendly company in the World. It's against its history and logic, which is why players/costumers follow them.

Well, it all depends on if and when BI is going to fix the amphibious functionality. It's unrelated to RHS (or to ACE). ;)- 16573 replies

Rate Apex Protocol! *****SPOILERS WARNING*****
mistyronin replied to drebin052's topic in ARMA 3 - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
In that part I smell some editing cheating... The enemies could shoot you even if they couldn't see you, as long as you were outside. I dare to say, there's a trigger that activates a "player setDamage 1" if you stay still for a while outside. -
Half wrong, the free mechanic was added in Helicopters DLC: https://arma3.com/dlc/helicopters :D But you are right, the showcase came with the Marksman DLC (oddly enough). As IndeedPete commented, the showcases from the DLCs are inside the paywall. It may have been open by mistake tho.
-
As far as I remember it's linked to the Helicopter DLC, hence it makes sense with the BI strategy of content-paid and features-free.
-
Would you mind sharing with us what other fps games in the market include a coop campaign with the same spawn-point mechanic as Apex? Or simply a spawn-point mechanic? And yeah please include all of those that feature a drop-in/drop-out option? (feel free to include other shooter games, like Gears of Wars and such...). Let's see what BI says about the campaign in their own store, hence the information they give before you pay: There are multiple coop missions with squad-respawn that allow you to always be with your mates. And most coop missions allow you to choose gear and equipment at the beginning of the mission. So the spawn-point system has nothing to do with that.
-
No. One thing are pub servers for PvP. But coop with random strangers? No. I remember going to Internet cafes to play LAN with mates. In OFP there were a lot of sim-groups, I was in one, but don't remember any random system to play with unknown people. I guess that as I always had friends to play coop games, never had the need for random strangers. And judging by my experiences with games like Squad of BF, were people can't coordinate anything... I only enjoy coop if I play with valid mates, friends or even my wife (who is quite good with shooters).
-
Been more than 25 years playing video-games and just now I discover that the co-op core is to play with unknown people? I always thought that it was about playing with mates, having comms and have a consensus about what to do, which tactics to employ, cooperating to achieve goals. That includes asking your friends to assist you when you are in trouble, etc. Heck I even had groups of mates with whom I played dozens of coop games (from Gears of Wars to Left for Dead , even MMORPGs... ) I guess I'm getting old... So now coop means something like Tinder but in games, aka the computer randomly assigns you an unknown guy, you play for some mins and then farewell. Ok, first time I heard but ok... So all known FPS that include co-op mode (practically none of them uses spawn points) are realist and not fun focused... Marcus Phoenix will be happy :D

It's an in media res, tho I agree it's may not have been the best way to use that literary resource. Can be quite confusing in a coop, specially if it was intended for newcomers. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_medias_res -
RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)

Didn't the USAF mod had it? In any case I'm afraid we don't have it in our plans. Maybe in the long term future.- 16573 replies

Not exactly, most of our A2 ports have multiple home made updates. For instance our AH-1Z and the UH-1Y have been improved, a part that is specifically all new is the weapon systems modelled from scratch (also parts of the cockpit, MFD, etc.).- 16573 replies

Have you ever wished to truck like a real Marine? You won't have to wait much longer. Our 3d artist, Zee "the Truck-lady" dedicated a good amount of insane hours to bring you this lovely 6x6 7-ton MTVR. Obviously still needs some love, but it's coming soonâ„¢!- 16573 replies

Question(s) About How DLC/Apex Works in Scenarios for Non-Owners?
mistyronin replied to Mynock's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
It should work as with previous DLCs, IA can use the new content but players that don't own it won't (well, they can in the virtual arsenal). And of course Tanoa is off limits for them (aka if you do not own Apex, you can't use Tanoa). -
I think the plane Physx class, the one the VTOL use, can't handle sling loading.

Rate Apex Protocol! *****SPOILERS WARNING*****
mistyronin replied to drebin052's topic in ARMA 3 - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
I personally don't see any logic in the new campaign in almost any of its facets. Maybe it's because I'm old, but to me it feels like a lot of good will that ended in a failed experiment. The plot it's ok and it's an interesting closure of the Eastwind story. In addition the presentation it's pretty good. I enjoyed the idea of seeing the map zones highlighted. Again I feel like the ideas behind the mission design were ok, and could have worked nicely with a proper execution. But the game-play is simply not acceptable for a game that has the Arma tag anywhere. You can hardly compare the AP "coop" campaign with any quality coop FPS campaign. It's like they were trying to copy the worse of other commercial FPS campaigns like Call of Duty or Battlefield, but missing most of its features. Hence the final result is like a Doom 2 game-play with weird respawn points. The hordes of brainless enemies are something I would expect in a zombie survival game, but not in a tactical fps. The number is way too high for a 4-men team. Oddly enough the AP campaign doesn't even take advantage of half the new assets, so you can't even view it as a showcase of the new content. The saddest thing, is that knowing the capabilities of some of the BI mission-makers like Zipper5, this result is totally incomprehensible. Specially after having read the devs explanations on why they choose this path. It's just makes no sense to try to attract the kind of player that is just the opposite of what most of the game represents. It's like if Apple representatives were to say that they are the top tier of the open source and crappy design, it simply makes no sense. Disappointing. PS: I won't even talk about the solo-mode, as IMHO that's simply trash, that won't deserve a word in it's nowadays status. The best they could do is to scrap it or deeply revamp it.- 52 replies

There're lot of moments on that trailer that depict parts of the Apex protocol campaign. The non-urban cuts mostly. The urban ones are mainly from End Game I think.

Zee - M107 - announcement
mistyronin replied to zeealex's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
After seeing that screen, I'm starting to regret it :D -
Probably due to the fact that most of the released content needs urgent polishing. The VTOL for instance are useless in AI hands... they even crash on take off. So I guess they'll focus on the hotfix.

As far as all the information it has been disclosed as today, the POTUS order was perfectly legal, in fact the POTUS has the legal prerogative to send troops abroad for a limited time without the US Congress authorisation. Maybe you are confusing legalities? You meant that those actions were illegal in the "recipient" country? You got me a bit lost now. In any case, just to avoid confusions, my point is that all soldiers in democratic countries obey only to legal orders (in their country legislation of course). For example the US invasion of Iraq was not legal according to the Saddam Hussein's legislation, but it was legal in the US legislation. Hence IMHO there's no information in the campaigns that say that the CTRG teams were going rogue (even if the local regular commanders didn't know about their presence).

We used to have a guerrilla faction in our Russian side mod, but it now has expanded and has its own mod (that requires the other RHS mods, US and Russian). It's called GREF (Green Forces), and you can find it here: http://www.rhsmods.org/mod/3- 16573 replies
