Dynamic Vehicle Loadouts feedback
CaptainAzimuth replied to granQ's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
I can agree with that. I love the Neophran, but the thing that gets me is not having fire modes for rockets as well. Could use a burst mode. -
Fixed Wing Flight Model (dev branch)

Whoops. Sorry, got the notification and replied during combat. Lol. Anyhow, what i think, is that your option, and BI's option should be optional. Maybe in settings somewhere. Camera Follow Inverted/Upright Toggle option or something. Would be nice.- 874 replies

Wasn't speaking jest specifically, but more along the lines of a "Take On" series centered around planes, with limited scenarios and mission involving jets, which could also include things like the new sensors, etc. Perhaps even an a mission with an AWACS Blackfish that can act as an extended range Datalink for interesting scenarios. But this is a conversation for another thread.

Fixed Wing Flight Model (dev branch)

Probably (hopefully), the Dynamic Loadout feature. It's pretty solid but there's still not way to use it during a game like intended. So it's likely with the recent small additions of Drones using it, they're probably polishing up the first iterations of in game use.- 874 replies

That's why they updated it, "smoothly follows" now is what it said in the changelog on dev branch, unless it doesn't actually do what it's intended...- 874 replies

Loving and loathing ARMA. Re-installing again...
CaptainAzimuth replied to Valken's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I'd love Steam of they would just fix their issues with Arma. Then I would give it as much praise. Until than it's a pain in the neck, because now, with my large group, we have members who can connect to the server fine, but permanently get kicked 1-5 minutes into playing to random file checks. It's got to the point they've contacted both steam, and Bohemia, and still kind get a fix. Meanwhile all the other members can connect just fine. Others cant, so it's not the server, or the mission, or Arma, as theyve done complete fresh starts of Arma, the mods, and their PC all to no avail. It's just steam. And theres no fix for it. Its just random. Ive had it before too on other servers, and it's random, unpredictable and impossible to fix, apparently. -
Brought it up already. I thought it was an amazing idea, but others preferred "Take On Tanks" instead. I don't think it'll get better than War Thunder, Steel Beasts, or WOT, but i think a "Take On Aeroplanes" game would benefit Arma in the future but introducing technologies to kill the view distance limit, improve FPS, and overall performance with large distance terrains, etc., which would also heavily improve infantry gameplay as well. Thing is though, that would mean BI would have to set up a separate team to make that title, and they're already hands full and exhausted with DayZ and Arma 3, YLands, Take on Mars, so... Idk. I don't know if DayZ has something for aircraft yet, i know Heli's got a different kind of flight model than Arma series, so maybe DayZ could make the push to invent JBSim or Fixed Wing Lib for future games. Highly unlikely though.

Steam is the biggest downfall to the Arma series. Steam actually creates problems that literally no other game in the world has (steam ticket check kicks from servers), and it's actually cancer. -
Jets - Sensor overhaul (Radars, IRs, Lazors, PGMs)
CaptainAzimuth replied to oukej's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
Long Range AA, wouldn't be too much of a problem. I've found ways in Arma 2 to defeat it, miraculously in an SU-25, which by the way gives you no warning that your being locked or shot at. You would be required to come up with a clever way of defeating it, but it's very doable.- 954 replies

Hahahaha... I know some people who that's going to tick off. Lost a few Wipeouts on our server to .50cals already, so... this'll be extra fun. I think challenging AI are fun anyhow.

Fair enough. I'm not sure what a Tank DLC could possibly bring to the table aside from improved mechanics and handling, and 3 new vehicles. But I'm gonna go ahead and hope that they try something like Dynamic Loadout for Ground vehicles in that respect. Possibility of changing out armament, turrets, and if they're really dedicated, even Armor packages.

Equivilant*, variant", same difference. It's their version of a prop UAV in the armaverse. The Former is the Farsi speaking CSAT version. -

I like the Dev Branch version better. Here's why though, yours isn't bad, it's awesome, but the Dev Branch version has been a long time coming for me. It improves situational awareness, and allows the ability to look around up right while not being in first person.- 874 replies

Armed Orca is still broken on stable. (Radar and Dagrs don't operate as intended) -
What I mean is basing a tank off of either. EFV especially, was quite beefy, and could be easily turned into a hard hitting MBT. (in the armaverse, anything is possible, even the babies of an F-22/F-18 relationship) Though idk. Think about it, the T-14 seems to be on the side of a bit of a light tank. It's quite small, fits less crew than other MBT's, and also modular, btw. So with that in mind, the NATO and AAF alternatives, could be similar vehicles, and are likely to be made up by BIS. Except the AAF, it looks to be they're getting real life equivilants with altered names based on what I've seen so far. Though I'm not exactly a tank person, so idk. Also, just because it has wheels or capacity to carry extra troops doesn't make it not a Tank. Example being Stryker MGS and Merkerva tanks, are still tanks.

I'm hoping the CSAT get a Kurganets with a main Cannon instead of an Armata. I'm a fan of both Armata and Kurganets, but the latter is far sexier, imho. But NATO, maybe a Korean or Japanese Tank. Or perhaps just an Up Armored Patria AMV with main cannon. Or if they really wanted to have fun, the EFV with a main cannon.

I suppose. Yeah, the way the Kajman has it is great. But only for planes compatible with HMD

Let's not actually turns this into Ace Combat shall We? Different games exist for that very reason. This is Arma. Let's keep it that way, and improve on what we can. I would not like to have people flying around in 3rd person with every benefit to being first person. There's a reason when your 3rd person as infantry, and you aim, it still brings you to first person to look down your scope. It should be the same thing here. 3rd person should be a situational awareness thing.

Reporting back, no resolve. Game still crashes in same scenarios. Just now, i also got a CTD without even a message. Simply closed all the way without a trace. Launcher gave me "0xC0000374 - STATUS_HEAP_CORRUPTION". -

orange Orange DLC (wild) SPECULATIONS !!!
CaptainAzimuth replied to Persian MO's topic in ARMA 3 - DLC
In calling Logistics, mainly due to how many players in multiplayer and single player use mods that enable the moving, towing, or construction of supplies that support a mission during gameplay. Weather it be picking up crates, and loading them in a truck, honestly ever since Arma 2, it's the most used script. So a Vanilla iteration of logistics would drastically improve the game, and performance on a drastic majority of servers, while expanding the capabilities for the game and future titles. But who knows. The logo could represent logistics, two people shaking hands, they're obviously cooperating in some form of way, had a deal, or traded something, shook hands and are on their way. Or it could be something compeletely different... However, I actually just remembered that BI added support for ammo crates being usable with the Vehicle in Vehicle transportation, and said they planned to expand the feature in the Future, yet have remained silent on the subject ever since Apex. So I'm curious, if they did add animations for carrying crates and a feature for loading them up into offroads, zamaks, hemtt's, and other vehicles, it would fit in their desceiption of being a DLC thats the size of Heli DLC and Karts, that could add a few new supplies and logistical equipment to boost such features during gameplay. -
I can almost guarantee we're getting a Carrier. Sure, the Sentinal, Black Wasp II have tail hooks and there's mock carrier animations being worked on. They wouldn't waste their time on these details otherwise, and there's a month and a half till speculated release. Not to mention that new Carrier has been being worked on since the Make Arma Not War competition. That's a long time, and I'm sure it's solid by now, with BI mainly finding out how the heck AI will function in all of this, like auto pilot landings for the Sentinel, etc. On a Aircraft Carrier. Though carrier operations are not hard, I've done it back in Arma 3 Alpha when I ported a few mods for personal use. With Vanilla support for such assets, it will be a thousand times higher quality. Though, I can't say that'll be all we get, given BI's under promise, over deliver, sure, 4 jets and an aircraft carrier is quite more than any of us expected already, but I would also like to see an expanded variety of weapons now that the Dynamic Loadout gives much reason to think about what you want to take to the skies. In the video I saw what looked like munitions carts, so I'm hoping we're getting an expanded Vanilla Missile Box that includes the things like the Fuel Tanks, different bombs (standard, big, air burst, handful of small or cluster), missiles, Atgm's. I'm not sure, but is the Mavrick looking guided missile on the Gripen new? Haven't seen it on NATO or CSAT planes. Then again, I haven't flown jets in very long time.

This is true. Not just previewing a mission but Joining a mission the first time works ok, however, I've never been able to successfully rejoin a session after reconnecting without a crash since 1.68. If i disconnect from a server and recconect a crash happens upon trying or soon after. I gave up on Arma yesterday due to not being able to untelize high vakue assets without the risk of losing one on take off. I haven't checked since hotfix, will report back when I can.
