Prone to crouch issue [SOLVED]
CaptainAzimuth replied to Roddis's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
No. It's not mod related, and it's certainly not because of objects. I've had this issue in the middle of an open field. Not only that, i've been in situations where i NEED to be prone, and because of this glitch, i've had bullets so close to my jugular it's not even funny. It happens when your prone and you turn your mouse to either side too fast. It's extremely annoying as hell. Hope it gets fixed soon. On anther note, there's a serious issue with memory now. not sure what it is, but i've never seen so many steam ticket kicks, as well as game crashes based on memory. EDIT: does the T-100 have advanced Counter measures i don't know of? Just had a strange anomaly where i couldn't lock onto it with the PCML, so i just fired it using the ranging, and even though it was a perfect trajectory, the missile dived down into the ground as it was about to hit it about 50 feet away and exploded. If it's not a feature, please look into it. -
Not worried about the doomsday clock. But please tell me how 3 million people can take to the streets in Brazil to alter the course of their government, but yet millions of Americans would rather post on the internet, never directly influencing the issues at hand. Not sure if the problem is them, or the people. Though, that's not to say the DNC is worth a mass march, but it sure was enough to set the DNC straight, given the head stepped down, that's also not to say they it can't happen in the future. It just means they'll get more sneaky about it.

They really want to gives us another edger road-map to keep us in speculatory limbo for the next half a year? I may just intentionally avoid these forums once it releases in that case. XD Gibbs Quadski? Yeah, i already requested that a long time ago. Would be amazingl perfect with Tanoa, we need more fast and a bit larger water craft. Hoping that's in their roadmap, because if it isn't, i would have to say it's Bohemia's biggest failure as a company not to include a wider range of assets for use in an Archipelago map, not to mention it's their last known official map for the series.

Your statement is correct until you asked why they integrated it. It's because PhysX in PhysX doesn't work for aircraft. Thus VTOL's need something to make sure the penalty of hard turns and steep angles aren't punishing enough to blow up the heli mid air like it probably did before the system was even integrated. I tried it before, crates in a Chinook, worked for about 25 seconds before it damaged the rotors and exploded in mid air. Thus comes the VVT configuration. However, this isn't necessarily even needed for Ships/Ground transport vehicles, and i've proven it many times. It would be convenient to have VVT with Ships, but it's not an absolute need. Though, VVT would allow AI to use it too. So now that we have that, it makes it even easier for BI to consider such an addition if they ever contemplate it to begin with. It also allows for interesting possibilities. Not just good for ships, but even vehicles like the Zamak/HemTT/Tempest/Off-road/Box Truck can be configured to have smaller vehicles like Quad-bikes loaded into the flatbed.
-
I would assume in terms of AI and Waterborne transportation, would work like AI and boats already do. You can have them gt in a boat, sail to another island and get out. So adding the ability for AI to instead, drive to the boat, load up like they would in a VTOL, then have the boat go to the other island, and unload as they do with the VTOL, would be about as much work as it is with the VTOL.

When i launched the Launcher on Dev, my Logo's under "Dashbord" don't show in the boxes like they do on stable. What does this mean when the box has nothing by the names of the Unit in it but not the Logo?

The Zoom level on the Prowler HMG is glitched. I think this may also be the case with the Speedboat HMG. The gun is zoomed far out, as if it's less than even 1X zoom. However, on on other weapons with the same sights, they seem to be zoomed fine.

Advanced Urban Rappelling
CaptainAzimuth replied to duda123's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Quick suggestion/Question. In the Advanced Tow Mod, when you attach rope to vehicle (in exile) you have to have rope in your inventory. When detaching rope, the rope is held in your hand, and is still there if you let go of it. I'm wondering if when you detach from Rappelling, if the rope cans stay there, allowing you to either climb back up later, or simply take the rope with you when you're done via. pulling it down? (or is this just something that some Exile servers configured themselves?) (also one more constructive criticism, is if the descending could be a bit smoother? Right now it's sort of like a micro descending, looks like nudging down the rope, and it makes it look like it's laggy/buggy, even though it's not?) -
We're not interested in Cruisers and Frigates/Destroyers, per say. Those would add to the niche that we all know BI will never put into the Vanilla game, it simply isn't something they're interested in having out of the package. But it's more things the size of Urals, APC's, stuff like that that add to the gameplay in a certain way. I think those types of things will always be the something modders will take on, which is great. But realistically from a gameplay standpoint, I think simply Heavy Patrol boats with 20/30mm AT/AA versions, kinda like fast water APC's, fast AT/AA units only capable of using water ways, would introduce that threat Tanks and APC's had, but on water, in a limited, but still useful fashion, for many game modes. As well as a transport ship for both teams and then you have a full spectrum of things that would help infantry gameplay with island to island tactics being used in interesting ways.
-
Or, BI could just develop their own high quality Naval assets with feedback from the community in order to improve and fill a massive gap in gameplay since Altis and Stratis were released. 5 Ships? Fair? -AAF Patrol Boat (with capability to VVT one small boat or Water Scooter, AAF don't need transport ship due to land mass being whole) -NATO Up Armed medium Speed Patrol Boat (AA/AT and NEMO Variant, ability to VVT one Water Scooter) -NATO Transport Boat (VVT compatibility) -CSAT Up Armored medium Speed Patrol Boat (AA/AT Variant, ability to VVT one water Scooter) -CSAT Landing Craft (VVT Compatibility) (nothing for Tanoa besides re skins, because BI already killed the dream of Tanoa having their own procurement's of the sorts. ) (They also wouldn't have to model a new turret for the CSAT Patrol boats, because the one on the Kamysh would fit perfectly.) Price, about the same as Heli, and Marksman DLC would suffice, as those two DLC's were the same. Or they can give it to us free, but you know, i wouldn't mind paying BI for their future projects through something like this. Features? Just an emphasis on expanding Gameplay evenly across All Official Terrains, and modded ones alike, as well as providing a more expanded use of the new VVT (vehicle in vehicle) transport system into Vanilla aspect, with small/medium Landing craft/Transport ships improving logistics at the ground/sea level. AA/AT equipped boats could provide more of a challenge to helicopters that currently easily get from place to another. To sum it up, this would fill the gap, and make gameplay SO much more fun.

Proof! No mods (except ASDG's MKVSOC boat of course, it's pretty much Arma 3 Quality)

Naval assets are absolutely not out of scope of this game. BI stated in response to some regarding Arma 3 as "Military Sim", and branding it instead as, "Large Combined Arms Military Sandbox". They're not wrong. It's absolutely not a sim. While it's close, combined arms is more accurate, with an infantry focus? That's good. This in fact makes more sense to have Naval assets in the scope of that title. Let me elaborate. So right now, you have a few infantry. What can you do? Not much. Run, shoot. That's fine. It will take you an hour to swim across from island to islands though. Sure we have helicopters, and attack helicopters, and gunships now with Apex. But there's still so much water, as well as ports, with nothing in the combined arms role to fill them with. Sure we have Speedboat Minigun, new Water Scooter (that handles extremely weird i might add, probably still place holder TBO), and RHIB, which goes fast. But think about this, we have two major military factions at play without a single Maritime unit? I'm not talking about big ships, because that IS out of scope. What we need are boats that infantry can use to complete tasks that without other assets would otherwise be impossible to accomplish. I've proven it already, Naval assets would only benefit the game and extend it's lifespan, and to be honest, BI don't even have plans beyond DayZ right now, and constant Arma 3 updates. After playing Apex for awhile i've come to find it's great, except for when i reach the coast and the big docks. Nothing there. So if big ships are out of scope, and then what is in scope? Ships big enough to be in scope! It's obvious. BI know how big they can make a vehicle like that and make it balanced. There are also new features that they can use that would make game-play more fluid, such as Vehicle transport ships. LSV's can't cross the water on it's own. VTOLS, sure, but if we don't have those on a server, a water solution makes more sense. Also, there's no MBT's or APC's with APEX. So why not add in the Water equivalent to such assets? NATO sure as hell would use them in the event of a conflict in geography such as Tanoa. So would CSAT (theoretically, because every nation always competes with equal or just better equipment these days). I don't think i need to mention what kind of boats would fit in, we already know though, (CB90, Raptor Patrol Boat, Small Landing Craft, Jurmo Land Craft, Nemo Patrol Boat, CCB patrol boat) there's a large variety that anyone looking for naval combat can choose from. Heck, Naval Logistics was, and still is possible without event the addition of new new VVT (Vehicle in Vehicle Transport) they added with Apex. Physix handled it perfectly. But now that VVT is in, it'll just mean a more arcade version of it, AKA, you pulling sharp turns at high speed yield no penalty to the cargo. But all in all, Naval assets? They would only benefit infantry gameplay, greatly to be honest.

Massive Kick - Steam Ticket Check Failed - Signature Check Timed Out
CaptainAzimuth replied to nark0t1k's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
EDIT: after using Malloc, it fixes the issue of Battleye kicking with no client responding, however, Steam Ticket kick is 100% active. There's no way around it. I've loaded into my usual server 50 times, each and every single time after a few seconds into playing, i get kicked by steam ticket 100% of the time. absolutely frustrating. Have not been able to play for about a few weeks now, and it's starting to get annoying. -
able to land on, walk on/in, and anything larger than a V-44 in terms of model size isn't possible. However, what is possible is ships capable of loading in vehicles, and crates, patrol boats. But BI only worked on what was planned for Apex, and it's campaign. That's about it. So if you want ships, we'd have to vote for a DLC, because otherwise, it won't materialize.

Rappelling from Structures WIP
CaptainAzimuth replied to duda123's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Was curious if you'd think about contacting the guy who make this ( ), and seeing if something cool can be done with that? I was thinking it would be epic to be able to toss it up on something, then climb up as well. Kinda like how in the Advanced Tow Mod you need rope in your inventory in order to do stuff, same with this. I was also thinking perhaps throwing down the rope like that would look better than just teleporting over the side? For example throwing the rope over the building, you can a scroll option to rappel, and then it moves you over the side when you enter? -
As the title suggests, though here's a bit more context. NATO and EU are set to merge as one, Russia wants to talk but no one listens, and media has been waging information war for the longest time, and it's nearly impossible to obtain reliable information on the actual situation. So, at the civilian level, how could we possible bring about an end to the dangerous rivalry between the Russia Federation and NATO? No one wants nuclear war, obviously, and it might sound far fetched at first, until you actually realize this is a very real threat to globe right now. It goes much deeper. Many of you know that it's not just nuclear war that's a result of NATO/Russian rivalry, but also Terrorism as a whole, due to proxy wars. How can we solve the root of the problem and curve the course to where our leaders of the EU and NATO are headed?

After logging into a server, if it lags too much before it loads up, Battleye will kick you with "Client Not Responding" before you have a chance to join in properly, and you will be forced to Alt+F4 or force close the game, thus creating a repeating cycle of slow loading times. Please fix this! -
woah there, one thing at a time. =P

Was about to say yeah, Survival Fatigues Tropic/CTRG (Tropic) are still MIA.
-
Jet Ski still performs weird, almost as if on rails? Hard to explain. It should go fast, but it doesn't drift like the Speedboat does, it just instantly turns. Not that it shouldn't but it shouldn't act so weird and jerky when it does. should be sorta smooth, but fast.

How to Stop or Alter course to Nuclear War
CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in OFFTOPIC
Not saying it's a confirmed thing, but rather, it's possible, as there have been talks of the EU and NATO being more integral after Brexit. I try not to follow any article too closely, but that's not the point of this topic really. Interesting. That's actually neat. It's better to prevent one than having to avoid from targeted zones for the next few decades depending on what type of bomb is used. -

http://www.globalresearch.ca/confirmed-nato-and-eu-will-meld-into-one-super-organization/5535508 Also no, i'm not in some kind of alternate Universe, and this isn't the past. Not sure if you've been paying attention, but lately, if you've seen how NATO and Russia are communicating, it's a surefire sign that the two could very well start a war, intentionally, or un-intentionally. NATO has had this sort of, "we're doing nothing wrong stance", and i supposed it makes sense, they want to defend Europe right? But you look at it from the Russian perspective, it's not quite the brightest picture, given the fact that both side are practically in a strategic arms race at this very moment. I was thinking though, that NATO's actions against Russia might not be the most moderate response, at the very least, over exaggerated response to Russia and the Ukraine. I'm neither alone on this, as France, and Italy have both expressed concern that NATO and even the sanctions are taking it a bit rough on Russia. Germany also went 50/50 both expressing concern for NATO buildup, but at the same time is sending it's own forces East anyways. It's a bit of a mess that really should be re-calculated, in my opinion. -
How to Stop or Alter course to Nuclear War
CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in OFFTOPIC
But think about it. How to the institutions function? Don't they need people, numbers at the civilian level to cooperate with them? I'm not saying disorder is the best way, but rather order, against the current motion towards war. I'm confident that in some way, a large number of people getting their voices heard, would eventually force NATO and Russia to come up with a deal to prevent nuclear war, and in the longer run, finally end proxy wars that have been raging between the two for decades now, and ultimately, tackle the terror problem. As of right now, it's not even about terror, but influence, and conflicting views between NATO/Russia. It really should be something we attempt to avert, at a large civil level, because otherwise, it's a global catastrophe waiting to happen. I would like to think that we, at least because a majority NATO nations (despite institutional oppression), being a Democracy, we should have the power to voice our concerns on a collective scale, and force the EU/NATO, to talk peacefully with Russia in order to create a better relationship. It's partly working in Syria right now, kinda, they're working together, but on all other fronts, it's a sand pillar. -

So... Bohemia Interactive, what's the deal with Steam and Arma 3. Today, i've been kicked from servers about a little over 60 times (not joking), and it's been due to Steam Ticket Signature Check. This hasn't been that much of an issue until now, and it's about getting to that point where it's driving me up the walls. What is going on with Steam and Arma? EDIT: VON is still completely broken in some servers, running the Exile mod, i'll check on the Exile forums to see if it's something on their side. But Direct, Group, and Vehicle chat, none of them work. I'm certain Side and Global also don't work.
