really... no omnidirectional movement?
CaptainAzimuth replied to BurntByHellfire's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Sorry, but after reading this, you have contradicted yourself. Look, the only thing that a controller should be used for is vehicles. As for the Infantry part, it is an almost absolute must to use Mouse and Keyboard, with the exception of those who have Head tracking devices such as Track IR. That being said, you may have to either just go with the flow, or deal with it. This wasn't a product designed for Console to begin with, much less Controllers used for Console. -
2 CAS Aircraft remain unknown. What if?

Chortles, do you think you can maybe dig around for a better resolution picture of the Cockpit and stuff of that jet? -
Where is the big Subarine in Arma 3 maps or map?
CaptainAzimuth replied to Ranwer135's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Well, it is 2035 in game, so i am positive it is possible to have maybe like, a large underwater personnel carrier? you know like having a transport heli, but this is a transport sub. That would be sick. -
JTAC (Joint Tactical Arma Campaign) Coming Soon!!
CaptainAzimuth replied to iceman77's topic in ARMA 3 - MULTIPLAYER
This sounds like Project Reality. Still really cool though. -
Hella excited for the new vehicles, especially the CAS (Great to see a Varient similar to the YAK-131 dedicated Multirole Fight/Attack platform), the new DMR for Opfor as well, possibly a shotty or M-25 Airburst... Kinda curious as to how that works. Auto range? The Campaign, while in early stages, i can't wait to see how it runs.

Dude... Wholy S***... ---------- Post added at 16:42 ---------- Previous post was at 16:39 ---------- If they would implement two seater variants of all CAS aircraft, that would be something as well. -
2 CAS Aircraft remain unknown. What if?
CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Hmm, good point. Why not Yak-130 for basic CAS, and Pak-FA for Air Superiority. After all, in Arma 2, there were multiple aircraft for both Blufor and Opfor. -

2 CAS Aircraft remain unknown. What if?
CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
CAS does not necessarily mean lighter, smaller jet. For example, the Pak-FA is an Air Superiority/Multi-role Russian Stealth fighter. CAS, means Close Air Support. You may now ask why not use the PAK-FA since it is Multi-role? Well, that could break it down to many things, like technological issues for the developers, and balancing issues, and a very high level. The YAK-130, on the other hand, fits in where it can be both CAS and AA, without representing unbalanced issues. It has a dedicated air frame, it fits in the 2035 era, and it has a basic flight model. It would be somewhere along the lines of SU-25, but less cumbersome, because it is not a heavy Attack aircraft like the SU-25. ---------- Post added at 16:35 ---------- Previous post was at 16:33 ---------- Although, the CSAT airplane has not been revealed, and wont be for maybe a month or two (at most), so there will be no telling what it is. For all we know, it will most likely be a concept plane, much like the Kamysh BTR, and some of the made up vehicles in Arma 3 already. -

Ok, so rumor has it, CSAT CAS jet is out there somewhere. No word on what it could be or what it even looks like. Someone also mentioned an Osprey, but that could be myth. -

We have mentioned that in previous posts. somewhere near page 3 i think. -
2 CAS Aircraft remain unknown. What if?
CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
That would be fair. Gripen for Bluefor, Yak-130 for Opfor, and the ALCA for Greenfor. All are light Attack/Multi-Role capable aircraft. -
2 CAS Aircraft remain unknown. What if?
CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Well, i wouldn't call the SU-25 light attack. More of a moderate, and it is not very maneuverable as well. But over all, I dought BI is going to throw in some out of the ordinary make shift CAS aircraft, like say, some kind of cargo plane with cannons out the side, or like the armed crop duster. From the looks of right now, they are going by Factions, and gear that fits the faction. The ACLA was ok for Greenfor, yes it is small, and not the best of tech for 2035, but that is expected of the supposed rebel group. They don't even have an attack helo, or even an MBT. Just a standard APC. Now, looking as NATO and CSAT are more organized, and super power based factions, it would only fit for BI to take more of a route they did in past games. Every Super Faction has its APC, Tank, Helo, Ship, and Aircraft. Blufor had F-35, Harrier, and A-10, as where Opfor had SU-25, SU-25M, SU-35. So for Arma III, as id noted, should follow the basic route of how factions would pace themselves against each other, based on their weapons, and vehicles, and assets. After all, it is a military simulator. Back on topic now, the SU-25, i believe was the main CAS aircraft of Arma 2. But now technology serves better, and the YAK-130 is not only more advanced in all shape, form and ways. It is more maneuverable, and can do the same job as the SU-25 did, 110% more efficiently, would be perfect for Opfors technology. It would surley solve the Hex painted ALCA we saw in a placeholder picture back when Arma 3 was in ALPHA/BETA. -
Over Hauling Vehicle Ammunition and Loadout Option
CaptainAzimuth posted a topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
What if, you have your airplane. You just finished with an Air to Air sortie, and your needed for CAS. You'd have to change aircraft completely right? Right! Now. Imagine, pulling up beside an Ammo crate or Ammunition's truck for vehicles. You scroll on the truck, and instead of simply re arming with the same weaponry, it gave you an option of weapons depending on the Hard points (weapon slots) underneath your aircraft. Now you select 2 AGM's, 2 Rocket Pods, and 2 AA Missiles on your Buzzard, just in case. How awesome would it be if you could do that? Bringing real life flexibility to load outs, not just for infantry, but for vehicles, depending on the role. That would seriously emphasize the "ADAPT" part of Arma 3, and would be perfect if BI implemented this in. So instead of hopping into another airplane, you load what you need, rocket pod appears on the wings, and now you can cope with different challenges. What do you think? -
Canadian Armed Forces Modification ARMA III

Well, 2nd Canadian Forces Flying Training School does. But maybe a real sharp and clean model of the CF-18 would be better. -
So ArmA3 gave us a reason to go in the water.. Now I am thinking, Epic Naval Warfare
CaptainAzimuth replied to ledhead900's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Maybe i was too vague. Now in terms of the speed boats, as i said were comparable to the Rebel Off road 50. cal to a BTR-Kamysh, and what is possible. The speed boat should not be improved upon, what i am thinking, is say, a Larger boat. Like a Naval Patrol boat with multiple armed capabilities. Say, a small patrol ship with AA and cannons, but, can hold one medium, or light rotary craft on the back. Or maybe it doesn't even have to be that serious, but it is a housed ship, meaning, there is an Interior. Something like the Battlefield 4 Attack boats, but bigger. With personal carrying, and defense capabilities. -

CaptainAzimuth replied to ledhead900's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
You and maturin are both, not thinking broad enough. Lets pitch a bit on the Battlefield 4 side for a second. Those patrol boats are outstanding, i know as far from the BETA. But besides that point, the Speedboat's in Arma 3 are nothing. They are like the Armed Off Road compared to what is possible. Why not make an Armored Patrol Boat with a Titan, AT/AA capabilities, and a main cannon. Maybe 30 MM? That would change a huge aspect of the way Naval assets are looked about. I've spent time in Speedboats, and yeah, you can cover the coast nicely, getting rid of infinity, until an enemy attack chopper showed up. A more armored ship would be amazing. -
Big PHYSx compatible ship. LCS 2 technological demonstrator
CaptainAzimuth replied to mankyle's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
If this gets fixed, they can implement an actual Carrier, or LHD, heck, why not both? And place them on Altis somewhere off the coast. Or even have it as a drive-able vehicle. Would bring about more Naval experience to Arma 3. Why have vast ocean with nothing to use it for? -
Lol, that bonce video. Kinda funny. But, on the other hand, who thinks they should make slightly bigger conventional bombs? Such as 500 Lb, and 1000 LB?
-
Have they fixed the typing issue? When you type, you hit hotkeys like the Compass, and watch, and you lean side to side?

Mods and ARMA 3 on the same level as FSX?
CaptainAzimuth replied to mercenar1e's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Yes, BI makes the decisions, but that is influenced by the consumer at a very very low effect. For instance, Feedback tracker represents a few key opportunities to share ideas with the Devs, and share tweaks and fixes. I've noticed that not only is BI skilled, of course because they after all, are the Developers, but the community as well, is highly skilled. Take for instance, JSRS. If you can turn something like Arma 2 Vanilla, into a more intense Arma 2, simply by implimenting realistic sounds, that is amazing. I cant tell you how many times I've ducked because of how intense it can be. I know allot of people who wont play without it. But the point is, if you can connect such a good community, with such good skills, and the Dev's, with such good skills, to help them make this franchise even more worth getting (of course the content must make sense and be one with the story, era, setting, goal of the game, and on point, no unnecessary things), that would be something of a miracle. -
2 CAS Aircraft remain unknown. What if?
CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Well, your very precise on the Scorpion, though, i do believe since the setting is 2035, and by that time, most of NATO will be using F-35's (with the exception of Canada's CF-105 Super Arrow), i do believe it would be necessary for BI to produce top notch CAS aircraft due to the setting. It would fit with the other top notch technology they have on ground forces, and rotary forces as well, making for a more polished, full feel of Arma 3. -

CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I indeed have that mod, but never knew it actually had that... hmm... But for a mod, cool, but having that in the Vanilla base game itself, would be gold. Having an option of weaponry load outs built into the ammunition truck menu, or vehicle ammunition box menu, would be a real treasure. -

When are they going to update this master piece. Having 3D scopes of this would be nice, along with some vehicles with their respected paints. CF-18, or BAE hawk. Some polished things. =D
