    Hmmm, well thats something. I never thought they actually had dispersion in Arma, more based on where the barrel was pointing. Also, that would be a nice attachment, a 7.62 receiver.
  3. Well i've been bored. So i started looking around. I came across a video, which showed a some amazing graphics and capabilities. I then realised, it was VBS3, which BIS works on. I came to wonder, its 2013-2014 almost, and DICE killed it with Frostbite 3. Now, all these next gen consoles are popping up. What if BIS jumped on ship. Now, i'm not saying Arma should be on Console, because that's a terrible idea in my opinion, just too many controls to deal with unless they created a UI much like SOCOM. Back to the point, why not use these advances with Arma 3 to make it look even better? Make it look so real, and immersive? Ok, now, obviously, not now. Arma 3 is no where near complete, and has tons of issues which need sorting out, but somewhere on the list, should be a thought to allow all of the Simulweather capabilities, and maybe even some of the VBS3 capabilities to create the most amazing Arma game we, or any new person has EVER seen. I mean come on, you guys cant tell me Arma isn't Unique as an FPS product. Not many games go so detailed in to Combined Arms like Arma has, and will improve on. Here, take a look at the video i saw. Thoughts?

    It would be great if these could be well placed and used with official aircraft mods for A3, instead of using the old sound of Arma 2 aircraft. Have you made any progress thus far?

    Probably best for the questions and answer tab, also, the MXM use to use both 6.5 and 7.62, as the ACR and XCR in real life used to use 6.8 and 7.62. Unfortunately, they took out that capability. So now, the MXM is simply, a longer gun for legitimately no reason. Instead of it being a DMR, MXC, MX, and MXM, are all just the same thing.

    Exactly. These features exist in other of games today. The thing is, there in other games. Why not show that the RV4 Engine can do the same, even better, or even something not seen in other games. Make it close to next gen. Or at least up to par, with next gen.

    Advanced Loadouts

    The only way to do this is to is to have the secondary weapon as load. That way, you loud your secondary rifle, put that in your bag, THEN grab your Primary rifle. Yeah, would be convenient to be able to simply load the contents you saved in the bad, but due to i guess limitations of the script, it wont allow for it, which requires a more conventional fix for now.

    Your right. Though i witnessed countless kids crash over and over. Good flying. ---------- Post added at 16:37 ---------- Previous post was at 16:35 ---------- Wind DOES effect other objects in game, such as all foliage and even rain. I don't know about clouds. Smoke from vehicles and hand tossed grenades are also effected by wind. There was a script id found long ago for making the wind overly strong, but i cant remember where i got it.

    If that were the case... Don't you think at some point we would get the fast ropes, the ability to have man and vehicle classes waking on moving Aircraft Carriers and Medium Attack boats, or walking through the hull of a medium Submarine submerged in the waters of Altis, a better flight model, that uses thrust and maneuverability realistically, more weather features, and an outstanding audio environment improvement?

    I've been proven half way wrong... I'm not the only one who can take off from that airfield, but he placed the jet there instead of landing first, THEN taking off, which many cannot do...     I believe the rivers are in for VBS 3. And with the new underwater capabilities of arma 3, i could great use in river operations in various situations and terrain settings, like dense forest and bushes in hostile territory.

    Well let me stress the point of Arma being a Combined Arms Open Sandbox game. You can create missions of many kinds to showcase different situations a person or group of persons would go into a combat situation. The best way to experience this is either TVT, or TVTVT (wasteland). Now, some may say wasteland is not the way, but in some situations it is, depending on what server you are in, each wasteland is different. The goal of wasteland is Team strategy. The first step is gather supplies. To do it, you need vehicles, which you can load supplies in. Then, you HAVE to set up an FOB, unless you will continue to walk endlessly around the map with nowhere to store all the vital things you find. Ounce your team has an FOB, that is when you build your force to become dominate over the rest of the island. It's basically like 2-3 teams fighting for superiority over the entire terrain. TVT, such as Tea Times Warfare is the next best way to go. It gives you combined arms Team Vs Team gameplay, against enemy AI AND players. Each team fights to control series of points between the two bases to prove who is stronger, or more tactical. Though, Arma can create more situations. In Wasteland, and Domination, you are able to create sub groups within your team, to accomplish different tasks. You can have 3-4 people run Recon or Special Operations missions to secretly and quietly cripple the enemies strong holding. Which is a really good way to experience JTF2/SEAL like operations. This sandbox offers tons of things. You just have to play them all and get a feel for it.

    I've read up on their site, the engine supports 1000KM x 1000Km, possibly even in High res terrains, not only that, but it's also stated the ability to have many players over the net. Here's a quote. "VBS3 provides greater performance on existing hardware and networks, allowing for an increased number of clients and AI entities. Simulation and AAR clients are new VBS3 instances that can be set up to reduce load on the server. They can be thought of as “dedicated clientsâ€. These additional clients are configured by the administrator and can greatly improve network performance. The average performance improvement on larger training scenarios has been registered between 500% & 2000%." Now, i'm sure that Arma 3 will already get better performance over time. As of now, the improvement from Alpha to now is pretty polished if you ask me.

    An up to date Aircraft Carrier usable in the Campaign and Vanilla game. Much like the one in Arma 2, just to fit the Era. Maybe they could use something like this instead of the prop Submarine... That they supposedly got rid of. NOTE: If this is the wrong thread please move...

    Hmmm... I see what your saying there, very true. Though, that's not to say Arma couldn't use a few Engine enhancements to make an even better experience on the Arma end of the RV Engine, to make it slightly more fanatical. Neither would getting a little more out of the capabilities hurt either companies, customer requests, or what the customer gets. Could only have a positive outcome in my opinion.

    Your right Progamer, i've another Tab open right now doing some research on the matter. But your correct. The RV engine is actually quite the tool if you can see it's full spectrum of capabilities.

    Hmmm... Do you think it would be remotely possible if BI were to request say, a reasonable upgrade in capabilities, to make more things possible within the current Real Virtuality Engine that Arma 3 uses?

    This is not an Arma 3 VBS thread, it mentions VBS3 yes, were focusing on "Capabilities" of the game "Engine" here. Do i not think Arma 3 looks good? Never said it didn't. I love BIS's work since Pre Alpha to now, along the way with much constructive criticism. But, i think that it can be Outstanding instead of just good enough.
  25. The design... yeah, i agree it's not the best looking, but i trust what Canadian Aeronautical engineers design. As far as the paint goes, there can be many options.
