  1. Hi jarrad, merry christmas mate!

    I like what you're doing here, there's a lot of potential in making a very unique and varied selection of SF units with the amount of awesome gear and weapon mods out there!

     

    Im liking your plan of attack in doing this - using already existing high quality addons instead of making your own which means you get to devote more time on creating the actual configs for the troops.

     

    Whats your end goal for this mod? How many factions/units/groups/branches would you like to portray?

  2. i really like the concept, its a great idea. i get the perception of a modern east European country with a bit of a dark history that wants to be highly advanced and not entirely depend on old soviet ideology and equipment.

     

    but, there is a lot of room for improvement with the textures and some of the model. I like how you've come up with a unique set of weaponry for this mod, and the organisation of the military is pretty authentic too. 

     

    definitely keep working on smoothing this mod out, plus add a few interesting high tech stuff down the line which will set apart this mod from other East European countries that are very soviet influenced.

     

    Im keen to see what you will come up with for the vehicles.

  3. Hi guys, Id like to share this little project Ive been working on.

    this is a direct port of the Destroyer from Arma 2. 
    Currently its just a static ship to be used as a prop for missions. 
    I have plans to improve this further by adding more functionality to it but not until I learn more about Arma modding.
     
    Not tested in MP yet but no reason why it wouldnt work. 
    addon is signed and keyed.
    its in Empty -> Ships.

  4. good progress so far and bases are looking good from the pictures.

     

    one suggestion referring to the Rasman airbase layout on your original (first) post, I prefer to see hospital and prison swapped around. Its better to have the hospital closer to the flight line so patients can be unloaded from helicopters and go straight into a medical tent. and prisoners can be out there so they wont listen in to important info from HQ.  :D

  5. I don't know if we are talking about the same CUP mod here  :lol: . In the weapon CUP mod the animations are a bit bad, not even close to todies nor  RHS. The textures are okay and need improvements. I really don't think I'd make something amazing but it would look okay with good animations and good sounds. That way this mod would stay requirements free which i think its better. I really hate when i go on armaholic for example and i find a cool mod but then it has a huge list of requirements

     

    I dont see a problem with requirements. in fact I love it.

     

    why have 50 different M4 mods when there could be 5 high quality ones? Im saying 5 because Im hoping the authors of these 5 mods would be competitive enough to make each others mods beat the others. quality > quantity, to an extent.

     

    CUP is a wip. Dont consider what you see to be the end of the developement roadmap. Im sure somewhere down the line they've planned new textures, new sounds and maybe even model revamps. Look ahead people. and of course you get the convenience of having a mod with lots of weapons in it from different classes and types.


  6. some may remember the classic LSD made back for OFP in its days.. Ive always wanted to use it amongst the other available amphibious ships in arma (LHD and LPD) to create the full complement of a marine expeditionary task force but being a really old addon the ship has issues, mainly:

     

    1. its out of proper size

    2. textures all weird and in different places

    3. fall through the ship in a lot of places

     

    I was very proud today to have done SOMETHING in regards to modding arma.. I put the .p3d into object builder, twice the scale of the model, packed model into a pbo and voila! the ship was twice as big (although still doesnt look proportional as to how it should look irl)

     

    now the concern is, Id really like to take on this ship as my first project and an entrance into the modding scene however 1. Ive contacted the author and the email is no longer valid 2. I dont have any experience whatsoever.

     

    question is, can I continue working on this very old model without having gained express permission from original author with his contact details now expired?

     

    if so, Id very much appreciate it if I could be pointed into the right direction as to how I could start fixing up the scale and textures.
