    COD-Like Units addon - WIP.

    Im really looking forward to the release of this.. These textures are too much goodness to go to waste and disappear into the abyss but it seems like Good69 is busy with other things. If you're stretched out doing other things, do you reckon an alpha release or source files release is possible?

    Sham's US Armament Pack

    I can confirm that the sounds on the rifles are gone. So SoS sound mod is a requirement now? How about if I use these weapons with JSRS, or without sound mods at all? Another thing, player holds the M40A5 as if its a regular assault rifle with a magazine. Might want to change it so that the hands are on the weapon since its floating under the rifle now.

    Quality vs. Ease vs. Story

    I personally think including mods is a great and probably only way to create unique missions. Relying on vanilla content can only go so much in missions until the need for specific units rise, which aren't available in the game. Then you'd see the wonders of mods come into play. I know people arent too happy with downloading mods, but they're just wimps. Once they see the advantages of mods and how moddable the Arma engine is Im sure they'd change their thinking and wouldnt mind downloading gigabytes of mods. Hey, my arma folder is over 100GB in size and guess why if it wasnt for mods. :P

  6. They would be fine for temporary measures, but in the long term you'd probably want to look at creating or importing your own models to add a tinge of uniqueness to the mod. With A2 sample models out and more modding resources released, modders are starting to move away from just making simple re-textures and are implementing new things into the game.

    TMN Defense Budget System

    An idea, have you ever thought of integrating the cost of building defence systems & FOBs into the budget? I once saw a mission script that gave players the ability to build bases. The better/bigger they are, the more expensive. I just thought that your script + the base building script combined might give a more immerse experience to those seeking persistent and progressive gameplay. Plus it would also give supply trucks a new job in the game - bringing in the equipment + parts to supply the soldiers and build FOBs.

    Isnt this concept of paying modders for their work is what MANW is all about? I believe MANW is all about luring modders in to make mods for A3 due to such a lack of content. So why cant this humble bloke make his own little MANW with less work and money involved?

    Awesome to see Armored Humvees coming to A3. Look forward to the release mate! One little request from a humble mortal man, can you put a minigun on a special up-armored Humvee? I can't get enough of minigunz! :o
  12. Looking good buddy. Do you reckon you'll re-texture more gear in this camo? Id love to see the NATO Combat Uniform, Kerry's drop pouch-less platecarrier and AAF carrier rigs in this camo. :)

    What if 2 F/A-18s and an F-16 approach for refueling? Will the aircraft serve all at once? This is actually a pretty cool feature. I like the fact that this position can be the spotter for the gun crews. How about giving him a laser designator or a target marker to mark targets?

  15. You could do just about anything in the gameworld, sky's the limit. ;) M1117 with Slat armor and a minigun isnt real as far as I know, thus its just a suggestion for a futuristic US Army.
  16. If there isn't anything showing on the goggles slot of your player's inventory then yes, your character is goggles-less.

  18. So I put all the AiA_xxx.pbo's from the new update into my old AiA folder, ran it and first thing I noticed was the main menu's UI is kinda stuffed up. It works OK but has A2's menu overlays behind and over A3's default. Also editor UI is messed up too and looks confusing. Any clues as to whats causing this Kju? edit: replaced the UI.pbo with old one and fixed the problem! however Im now encountering problems when loading a mission I made before the 2 patches. After pasting in the files from the new patch, starting the mission - it goes through loading screen fine, gets into the game for a second then back to the loading screen again. It then stays loading forever, seems like its crashed. Attached is my RPT (running AiA HQ + all the required mods, MCC and TPW mods) just in case. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0brXnkugds_VVNKaG5aUFNEazQ/edit?usp=sharing edit edit: With the problem above, turning AiA HQ off brings everything back to normal. So it seems like there is a compatibility problem with old AiA patched to patch 2 + AiA HQ. edit edit edit: Apologies for the many edits, but after doing some more testing I think I figured out that the problem was with some script incompatibilities and not with AiA mod.   19. - Strkyers or some sort of wheeled APC would be great. - MTVRs are really a signature of the Corps and Navy, HEMTT would be the way to go for Army logistics. - C130s, C17s, AC130 arent really necessary additions, there are already a few mods working on the same thing. Devote time and effort to something more unique to this mod. - Chinooks! - Blackhawks/Stealthhawks! - Thinking of the Kiowa but then the Blackfoot's a better replacement to go in tandem with the Apache's as scouts. - Any special forces? - SF Humvees to go with them! - Barret .50cal sniper a bit of punch for infantry - XM-25s (in this mods timeline probably no longer be an eXperiment) edit: more suggestions... - Bradley Linebacker? - Avenger? - Recovery vehicle, maybe the M-88 - Static Artillery cannons - Static weapons (probably the current A3 ones would suit with replaced infantry) - Port of US Army base buildings from A2OA warfare assets?
  20. Maybe not. In a mod like Window of Opportunity from A2 yes. This RTS scale is way too large to have base building.
  21. Good stuff Kju, downloading now! Just wondering with this new patch and ones coming out in the future, can we apply them to the old AiA? Reason being is I want to use TOH content in Arma 3.
