    ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread

Definitely a fully working LCAC and a ship that has a well deck to dock the craft in is probably long overdue in the Arma series. A2's LPD-29 comes to mind as being the only ship with a well deck, tho not without its limitations by the game's engine - players aren't able to enter into vehicles or crafts within the well deck, as it is below a walkable surface (the helicopter pad). Thus scripts were used to teleport players into the vehicles.

Arma 2 ACE mod had M320's on 2 of their HK416's: ACE wiki: http://freeace.wikkii.com/wiki/ACE_HK416_D10_M320 ACE wiki: http://freeace.wikkii.com/wiki/ACE_HK416_D14_COMPM3_M320 and Slatts was working on replacing the SCAR-L's with custom M4's that has both a 320 and an M26 MASS. Armaholic page link: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=18690 If Im not mistaken ACE used a lot of RH's A2 weapons and the HK416 series was one of them, so him and Slatts would be the go to guys to get a hold off. ;)

I really like that bay with a small island airport there, great job Makhno. Whats the biggest aircraft will we be able to land on the airport?

Yep, and M4's only do semi and 3-round bursts. I believe the M4A1's and M16A4's are currently replacing the M4's and M16A3's respectively for the Army and Marines. Oh, another thing I forgot to mention in my previous post is, would you consider bringing in the M320 to replace the aging 203? Its also apparently replacing all 203's in the Army. Now Im probably getting too demanding. :o

Yep, I also reckon its just GL variants and maybe more M16s that the mods weapon pack lacks. Perhaps these points could be addressed in the next release: - M4 renamed to M4A1, since full-auto fire isnt possible on the M4 (I know this ones a bit netpicky :P ) - recoil on the weapons cause the player to kickback and jitter a lot, almost think that the poor bastards gonna lose his spine. - AT4 reloading is very slow and isnt a one-shot disposable launcher, able to carry around an extra rocket for reload. Otherwise, I certainly have no problems with these guns being used and really keen to know what the overhauls are!

    SOC WIP Thread

Just to add to the above discussion about videogames, I say the reason for all the in-accuracy in military games nowadays is to open them up to a wider general audience of military shooting lovers. I guess the way CoD does their characters is based on stereotypes - like how people think the SAS or Delta Force are like. For example the SAS were famous for conducting Operation Nimrod, thus people recognize the SAS as wearing whats been mentioned above with such equipment and armor. CoD follows such a method as it is not a mil-sim thats played by hardcored military enthusiasts who knows every single piece of gear a soldier is wearing instead the game appeals to a wider general audience that enjoy military shooters. I should also have to emphasize that it is the more current CoD games that do this, CoD4 and older I thought were quite accurate. Battlefield was rather realistic for a while until the the third and now fourth installment came out - again they're trying to open the game up to a wider range of audience and compete with CoD. Medal of Honor 2010 also had fairly accurate representations as mentioned by davegary above but Warfighter turned it way down, in particular multiplayer - they had about 2 - 3 different player models for each class which were reskinned and used by 13 different nations Special Forces. Meanwhile, Arma has and continues to serve us military enthusiast that just love our military gear. ;)

    Sham's US Armament Pack

The M82 Sniper Rifle has got to be a part of this pack, for sure!? :D Really like those BF3-inspired M16's with tapes on them, cheers m8.

Looking forward to the OCP guys, Alex. Cant wait! One thing Im curious about, will you continue to use your own-made weapons already included in the mod for these guys or will you be changing that to require 3rd party weapon mods?

    SOC WIP Thread

It certainly is an eye refreshing project you guys are working on, and I have a huge amount of respect and appreciation for the work thats gone into this. In that case, keep striving for what you guys strive for as I now have a better understanding of what detail means to you guys, and its obviously always on top of the "to-do" lists. :)

    SOC WIP Thread

Dont get me wrong with this, but sometimes I think that these are such great models that they're just about irrelevant for Arma 3's combined arms scale. Are you sure you guys aren't pushing it too far with the amount of detail? I mean every nook and cranny has to be absolutely perfect to pass QC?
  13. Why not? It could always be additional content or even in a seperate package. Up to them really. I personally say go ahead! But do focus on current gen equipment.

    Ski Resort WIP (10x10km)

I believe there would also be somekind of a short airstrip to ferry tourists up and down the alps, no?

    Ski Resort WIP (10x10km)

Looks very interesting mate, look forward to when its done so I can play on ice!
  16. Me personally Id say yes to all that. It gives the campaign more persistence and feels like the world is a part of the players progress. It gives vehicles more meaning really, so that players take care of their wheels.
  17. Although to get the guns sights fully working properly you'll need to add a few lines into your init.sqf as in the readme's and original first post.
  18. Thats a really great thing with A3, is the modular clothing system. Look forward to making those many infantry combinations! ;)

    ADF Uncut

Perhaps the way soldiers hold the MAG58 with the left hand can be changed? Now it seems like theres a foregrip there. Its shaping up well. :)

Its a rather extensive list of requirements for just a weapon, but I have all of them anyways. ;) Cheers m8.

    BWMod

Beautiful! Id love to use the MG3 in-game! A couple of things, will the fire-rate be as fast as in real-life? And will we be able to attach flashlights/laser and scope on to this baby? :D

Yeah Ive seen pics of regular Marines using Nomex, apparently its better than their standard MARPAT uniforms and more comfortable? Its rather interesting and I certainly like to find out more.

    N-B U.S.M.C Project

Are nomex suits actually what they use on ops? I thought they just used standard MARPAT uniforms with extra "guchi" helmets, vests and weapon mods? Unless you mean something like this: http://www.warjunkies.net/ploggerb3/images/usmc/ii_marine_expeditionary_force_-_cwu-27_p_tan/meuias2009left.jpg (176 kB) http://www.warjunkies.net/ploggerb3/images/usmc/ii_marine_expeditionary_force_-_cwu-27_p_tan/meuias2009front.jpg (248 kB) source: http://www.warjunkies.net/ploggerb3/?level=picture&id=846 then yeah I wouldnt mind. :D

Not sure if its just me, but the woodland MARPAT looks like AOR2. Maybe tone contrast or tone down a bit? Not really sure.
