  1. IMHO this is perfect, because that limits the movement of vehicles a bit in this rather small map. We, the xCam Proto map team, have played this map alot in the last days and we are all loving it. Especially the fact that you have always a small pit nearby to hide in. :D
  2. What ExiledGamer said:
  3. the xcam_xxx objects only have a very basic config. so they mostly are better looking bricks ... these objects / the editor upgrade is mostly aimed for terrain building. if you want to use the xcam for missions you better use the proper configured vanilla objects (or from other addons). and in addition you wont have any dependencies in the mission so people dont need to install the xcam to play that mission. Not a silly question. :) This is not implemented because there is no working import of pitch/bank to terrainbuilder at the moment, it always ran into problems/misplacement. Maybe pitch/bank will come in a future version at least for mission builders(, but only one man knows :D).
  4. then don't use it / remove it while playing on public servers?
  5. Great map James! Well done!
  6. Awwwwwesome ... "Isch fass es net" ... and now everyone Watch The F-ing tutorial Videos ... :D
  7. currently streaming some xcam ... http://www.hitbox.tv/t-800a
  8. Things that are not goint to happen anytime soon: "... just update later!"
  9. I would recommend drinking beer while placing objects ... just to make one splendid thing out of two great things. but yes savage!
  10. You can also export to a mission.sqm file, but you can only export objects and not units. With the exportet mission.sqm you can then start over in the regular editor. I guess X-Cam is best referred to as (rapid) object placement tool at the moment. ;)
  11. with the xcam map we started with a empty map in arma. while filling the map with xcam we exported our "projects" and gave them to silola who then imported them to terrainbuilder and made a new pbo of the map so we could get the newest version of all placed objects. a) start arma with your current version of the map b) place objects with the xcam c) export your xcam project to file d) import file in TB e) check if everything imported correctly in TB f) do the TB magic to create a new PBO -> a) The xcam map has the config in a seperated PBO from all the "big" image files, so we never needed to exchange big files and sorry, i don't know the exact format of those import files. but those were simple textfiles which contained all data TB needed for a import (model, cords, height, scale,...).
  12. Check if you have the last hotfix for AiATP installed. That fixed some coruppt files that lead to arma freezing when certain models were loaded. @Hotze: "Isch fass es net!" - I am glad you released it! And I wouldn't call some config entries 'a sound mod' ... And add more cobblestone to the villages! (And some stones to the "rock" areas!)
  13. There is only one Silola-bot...
  14. You are chekcing for _x getVariable 'test' is-bigger-then 1, and 1 is not bigger then 1. ;)
  15. Maybe you _side is the problem? Does it refer to player side? Then you will need to convert it to a string first.
  16. In short: Update: maybe - probably not Wider Roads: No Increase Performance: No The Map was neverever ment to be a performance map, as stated trillions of times! ... If you want more FPS, use the low density version. And because we all like the narrow roads, those will not be changed. Also I dont think you know how much work this would be. But you can easily adjust your driving speeds then you should have less problems with the narrow roads... :P

    so much wow :o
  18. At first glance you seem to be missing the All in Arma Terrain Pack... Requirements: All in Arma Terrain Pack (AiA TP) And in general everyone is welcome to use the map under its license. License: CC BY-NC-SA 4.0: Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International
  19. I think managing the owners of objects with the X-Cam is way out of scope for the X-Cam.
  20. ---- updated script on 30.01.2015 - V004 ---- updated the script to better work with objects created on-the-fly incompatible to previous versions, so you are not done by replacing files! You can check if the download on a laptop/object was finished and/or if someone uses the object by checking the following variables saved to the object: _laptopInUse = _myLaptop getVariable [ "T8L_pvar_inUse", false ]; _downloadComplete = _myLaptop getVariable [ "T8L_pvar_dataDownloaded", false ]; Download the sample mission (V004)
  21. Have You downloaded the AiA TP 2015-01-01 Hotfix 1? If not you would also encounter CTD's on Chernarus (near Solnichniy) and other Maps which use assets with corrpupt files which were patched with the hotfix. Just Fly around near Solnichniy as Zeus to test.
  22. In the end, as stated several times, this map was not build for performance, but for good looking, shits & giggles and some x-cam tool testing.
  23. Please check if your game also crahses on Chernarus near Solnichniy. If it does, you have to download the AiA TP 2015-01-01 Hotfix 1.
  24. I think diffrent PixelShaderID's require different stages ... like the Super needs everything. And a friend helped me to set that up ... so I didnt really need to bother with the wiki. :) He just gave me a rvmat he used for some basic object ... and it worked fine for me.
