Nice work! I like the idea of the wounded soldier dragged away from the fight. And good job on the hugging animation, nice to see that you managed to put it into the game!

    Faces of War [WW2]

Yeah, I'm 100% with you, Sten's purpose was to quickly replenish british stocks after Dunkirk. British officers didn't even feel the need for a smg, they usually said that a trained rifleman is more than enough. They even referred to smgs as "gangster weapons" (or at least, that's what I heard). It was easy and fast to produce, you can tell by the simple design and by the tendency to overheat or jam or even discharge after being knocked. If the Brits had more time, I'm sure they would come up with something better. I heard about the poles too, I don't know if it's true though, but it might be, it would be credible enough if they did. I'd probably choose the MAB too, for its accuracy and reliability, but if I have to run and gun then I'd probably go for the Sten. The MAB was incredibly well made and mantained a high production standard during the entire duration of the war, regardless of costs and the fact that we were losing the war. They managed to speed up the production process, at the cost of quality but other stuff got improved too, like weight reduction and improved barrel cooling.

    Faces of War [WW2]

No problem at all! All I did was a small research and look at some photos, I could've posted more facts, but I think the most important are here for everyone to read. Even if the MAB is a great weapon, it had its drawbacks, as did the Sten, as did the PPSH, as did the MP40 and every other weapon used in WW2. No reason to get mad over it, by keeping it civil we can share knowledge and have a nice discussion to kill some time. In the end, it's all a matter of personal preference (at least for us, the ones who fought didn't really have a choice).

    Faces of War [WW2]

I'd like to keep a friendly debate going on, it's intresting. If not here, on a pm group with some of you guys. Anyway even partisans preferred the Sten for hit and run operations, because it was way more lighter and compact compared to the MAB, making it more suitable for raids. It had its problems, like feed failures or overheating, but MK.V solved some of the issues and managed to make it a more reliable weapon. Bear in mind that Sten guns were produced fast, in an attempt to replace lost weapons and they did a really good job. The MAB was a great weapon, reliable and very accurate even at 100-150 meters, some german units (especially FSJ and SS) used and appreciated it, referring to it as a really well manifactured weapon. But it was heavy and bulky, that's undeniable. One of the reasons why many people would choose a Sten over it, it's weight. Why would I carry 5 kgs when I could carry 3,5 kgs?

    Faces of War [WW2]

The Mab was a great weapon indeed, but we, as italians, are a bit biased. Jokes aside, don't take it too personal, there are a lot of funny jests about almost every army (and their equipment/vehicles) involved in WW2 and there's no reason to get mad. P.S. The MAB was bulkier and heavier (it weighted almost 5 kgs when loaded) than other smgs. It compensated this drawback with high accuracy and reliability, along with commonly found ammunition. In expert hands, it allowed accurate short-bursts shooting up to 100 meters. The effective range (with Italian M38 ammunition) was 200 meters, but there's no record of anyone ever reaching that distance. A funny fact is that the vest designed to hold its mags resembled a japanese armour and people wearing it were called "samurai".

Your poses are among the best, I'm sure you'll figure it out. I agree to a certain extent, content creators invest their free time to make mods but I don't think they should charge for them, they were born as free content and it should stay that way. As I said, voluntary donations or paid commissions are more than fine, probably the best ways to go and the most appreciable ones, because you're not forced to pay a "ransom" . Why would I spend money for a mod when I can have a DLC? I'm not forced to buy it, you're right, but bear in mind that it would be like throwing all the hard work in the dust bin. The way I see it, modding is not about money, it never was and it never will. I know a certain game company (can't name it, but you know who they are) that tried to pull this move and it didn't end well for them. In my opinion there's no point in modding for money, if you're in for it then you're in for the wrong motives. If one day I come up and say: "Hey guys, I reskinned aaf and csat uniforms, it's 5,99€ each, but it becomes 3,99€ if you buy them toghether" I think half of the forum would laugh their ass off and the other half would send me to hell. But if I say: "Hey guys, I made this mod, I worked really hard for it and it's really good content, can you please donate something to show your support?" then it would be different. Payment shouldn't be purported, it's an extra. I also think that if I were to put some kind of annoying wall of text in the unpaid version of the mod I would piss off a lot of people to the point where no one would use it anymore. A logo or some kind of smaller watermark would do the trick and still give me some kind of credit, wouldn't it? In this specific case, he ported BIS content from another BIS game to A3. Why would he be entitled to sell it? I'm not following you there, so if I take, let's say, a ww1 soldier uniform from a certain game from another company, without using their tools then I could sell it? Quite unethical, even if I were to improve it. If he's having (or had) problems with his other mods, then there's something going on. Obviously I don't know what happened and I don't want to make accusations, but I hardly belive that he risked his account for nothing, maybe he broke some rules here and there, without even knowing it.

While I'm totally fine with voluntary donations and paid commissions, I also think that mods are the result of hard work and passion for a certain game, it's something you don't do for money. Mods are like a hobby that makes both you and the community happy. Sadly there's no way to stop content stealers for good, they're a huge hydra and for every head you cut off, two more grow back. The same thing goes for life communities, a lot of dishonest owners make money over other people's content and I think they should face harsher punishments. I'm not saying that mod developers should surrender and accept that their content gets stolen, there are means to fight back even if it's a neverending battle. I strongly disagree with the whole "sell the original models" thing, because even if he put a lot of work on them, they're not entirely his doing, he ported and modified bohemia interactive's stuff. Can you explain what you mean by suggesting to avoid Bohemia ? In my book it sounds a lot like misappropriation of someone else's content. Last, but not least, I can perfectly understand max's urge to somehow protect his mod, but in my opinion he missed the point. That red text can easily be removed by people with basic unpacking and repacking knowledge and I bet that his target (life communities and content stealers) had a good laugh while doing it. Putting a drawback to scare off this kind of people had the opposite effect and hit the audience that wanted to use the mod fairly.

No problem mate, glad to see that you appreciated. About the pistol/grenade animations, I figured it would be difficult but I'm happy to see that you didn't discard completely the idea. I'll post some more pictures if I find intresting poses around the interweb! Thanks again for this beautiful collection of poses, I made some sweet screenshots with it.

    NIArms Release Thread

Thanks man, I didn't know the exact english words (native language can be quite deceiving). Anyway, I was agreeing with war_lord and I wanted to add some info for the guy saying that the rof is incorrect. And yes, 900 rpm are more than enough (at least for arma ). Ahah! Yeah, you need a really good trigger discipline to use it, that reminds me of a match I played not so long ago. One of my friends wanted to take the gunner role so we switched and I took his AT role. The whole squad knew that he would waste all of his ammo and when he did we laughed our asses off and mocked him a bit. He has a really bad trigger discipline (he was like ) and we call him "grilletto facile", which means "trigger-happy".

    NIArms Release Thread

MG42 -> from 900 to 1200 rpm (I heard that it can go up to 1500 but it's unconfirmed). MG3 -> from 700 to 900 rpm (V950-R) or from 1000 to 1300 rpm (V550-N). It depends on the shutter group and shock absorber used (feel free to correct, I translated literally from italian). It's correct, MG42 has a generally higher rof.

    RHS: M1 Abrams vs. T-55A

A friend of mine, who served in the russian army, told me that T-55s have a big photonic autocannon, not that child sized cannon. Can you correct it and bring it closer to more "balanced realistic" standards please ? Jokes aside, me and my friends had a lot of fun messing around with this mod. RHS Team, you're the best! (I still love you guys, even if you can't balance your mods *insert trollface here*)
