Great work you've done there, I love it.
And those who're complaining about performance, unless you have a CPU from 2002, there won't be any performance issues. If your system can't handle the current sound mods, it probably can't even play the game.

http://hia3.com/tools/ArmA_3_wide-angle_FOV_calculator_online_by_Hi,A3.htm
Use this to calculate your desired FOV. I recommend 74 (default is 70). I find it perfect for infantry, vehicles, and of course, karts.

I have these same issues, certain objects will have glitched shadows. This happens only for 'low' shadow settings for me. It will not happen on standard and above. Hope it helps!Happens in every shadow setting for me, from low to ultra. Only the stencil shadows cast by units and vehicles have these glitches though.
Im pretty sure its a problem with the GTX 750 TI because me and others in my unit with the same card have this issue.Makes sense, do you guys have the Palit 750 Ti by any chance? Might be that Palit overclocked a bit to high, hence the glitches. But then again I didn't have this issue before, so it's very likely this is a driver issue. Like Myke said, do you guys all have the same drivers?
-
Temps are okay, I'd say even better than in other games (Arma 3 is one of the few games where I can't hear my GPU fan going faster)
Looks like I need to go through the hassle of reverting to the old drivers...
-
Maybe I wasn't clear enough, it happens with ALL the units, NATO, CSAT, AAF, doesn't matter. (the first pics I posted show NATO units and a CSAT tank having this issue)
-
It's a CSAT unit.
"From modding point of view, this looks like a non-closed shadow geo LOD in the model."
Care to explain?

I don't know, but it looks like the (stencil) shadows are the culprit here:

BI units. I'm not using any addon that changes clothing/weapons etc.
EDIT: disabled all the mods I was using and the issue still occurs.

I'm getting strange streching lines from shadows. They come from soldiers the most. Seems to only happen with stencil shadows. Disabling shadows removes them, but I don't want to play with no shadows.
GPU is Palit GTX 750 Ti, using latest drivers (337.88)
Tried verifying game files, didn't work.

Might be a bit hard to notice in the pics, but it's there. It's very noticeable in pic 4.
Help would be kindly appreciated.

Really enjoing the air battles so far, keep up the good work :)

do not use cpucount and the malloc launch parameter. Especially the malloc one should be removed. It can cause a lot of issues.about the cpucount thing: it is bullshit too. It does not do anything to the performance of ArmA 3. So you might as well remove it.
Correct, I'm fairly sure that the -cpucount command is only useful if you want to experiment running the game on less cores, otherwise it's automatically set by the game.

If only BIS used Havok instead of PhysX, we would have better multi-threaded physics and no confused noobs thinking that this game could run PhysX on the GPU instead of CPU.

Sorry OP, you do realize how stupid your post is? Read it again. Still nothing? Ok.
Paid DLCs are for new content, not for graphical enhancements, unless those are things like free texture packs that were left out of the final game to shrink the size of the file. The whole idea of selling graphical enhancements doesn't make any sense.
The point I was trying to make is that I would hate if they invested valuable programmer time (which this would require) into creating any kind of pointless eye candy. This would be a terribly wasteful idea, regardless if it was released as a free patch or as paid DLC.Those extra GPU cycles would be better served crunching any data that is currently bottlenecking the game on the CPU side (if at all possible), not calculating some crap like wavy cloth and fancy particles. Any such improvements should obviously be part of the core engine, not some paid DLC. No one said anything about "charging for better performance".
Things like wavy clothes and fancy particles are relatively easy for modern GPUs to render, and if done properly, adding this sort of stuff to a game only makes the world feel more believable and immersive. Just saying.

Goddamn, I just played around with the challenged and I must say this little DLC is fun, and also very cheap.

this game is far from realistic the amount of shots people take is insane seriously it's crazy. just re-installed the game earlier today since i played it back in alpha and a little bit after alpha and well i walked up behind an enemy emptied about 20 bullets into his back/neck area from about 70M away, i looked at him switched it to single for and poped off shot after shot into his back i see him twitching from the impact and blood coming out he turns around shoots 6 times and i die? now at first i thought it was lag on my end or server lag nope i had 50 ping he had about 70ish and the server was at 60ish frames are fine no lag happens ever really. i thought this game was supposed to have realism cmon now god forgive me for saying this but CoDs hardcore mode is 10X more realistic i haven't played CoD in years last one i actually enjoyed was modern warfare 1 all the others were pure let downs and a waste of 50-60$. now im not saying CoD is better (we know it's not or else we would be playing it :P) but seriously you call yourself a military sim???!! another example would be me following a guy into a building setting my gun to burst fire i shoot him in the back before he turns the corner notice he didn't flop so i took cover reloaded and went full out stormed in we unload both of our clips into each other i would say about half of it actually hit and neither of us died we both reload start to shoot again and we both die WTF. seriously bohemia you REALLY need to update the realism and ballistics on the weapons a helmet wont stop a bullet MAYBE a 9mm but a 556 or 762 yeah right. i will record some gameplay later on to back up my statement/rant on this issue, i dont know about everyone else in the game but i enjoy the shooters that say realism to be REALISTIC.(sorry for the long post XD figured this would of been fixed in alpha -_-)
1. No, this is not a thread for rants, this thread is about feedback tracker tickets, steam forums are better for people like you
3. No, this game is not called a realistic military sim
2. Space iranians have alien tech in their armored vests, they're the only ones that need a truck load of shots to kill, and that will probably get fixed, more likely if you start creating tickets for the devs if you like this game
-
Wouldn't they also need to make a new voice acting session? You'd have to take that into account.

Looks good, thank you for this. My little feature request would be removing the white crosshair that overlaps the green one in the airplanes, like the Wipeout.

Am I the only one with that problem? (Stable branch)
With the sight not centered... Difficult to play like that :S
I really hate that, 2D scopes from TMR mod are a much better alternative to this.
-
That's not how it works. Game uses CPU PhysX. Which means it's not for eye-candy like GPU PhysX (Client-side APEX accelerated particles, that have nothing to do with gameplay).

I do wonder if its anything to do with this change -•TBB4 memory allocator updated to version 4.2u4
Given that now my harddisk seems to be constantly pulling in data - I think the stutter I am getting is literally that.
Does anyone have a definitive set of command line switches we should be using now for arma 3 ? I currently have -
-high -maxMem=8192 -noPause -noSplash -enableHT
I've got 12 gig of ram in this pc.
-high does absolutely nothing, no reason to have it
-maxmem is hardcoded at 2047, no reason to set it higher, and it's likely to be automatically set by the game
-enableHT is still in testing phase, I'd say wait until we have better info about that
-noPause makes the game run even when the window is minimized, not sure why you'd want that
maybe you should put the command -nologs to prevent the game to write logs, which may help with stuttering
-
Speeding up the game makes it faster!
Genius.
-
Awesome! Great to see the parachute exploding bug has been fixed.
-
Here's some more, (probably) easily fixable bugs that existed since the alpha.
Building "Barracks (new)" has walls that don't cast shadows from the sun http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=15870
Camera gets stuck in zoom when player dies while looking through a scope http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=18946
And btw good job Iceman. Keep it up.

http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=5830 LOD popping/flickering, especially on grass. The most distracting visual issue, preventing many people to immerse theirselves in the game. Ticket is over a year old, with lots of votes.

3D Scopes - This can't be right
in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Posted
That's the problem with 3D scopes. I have no idea why the devs had the brilliant idea of making the 3D scopes sway without the camera following them. It's completely unrealistic.
