Yes, it could/should be harder, but not by making vehicles look identical like it is now.

Dude, http://www.arma3.com/launch-countdown FIA is listed here as independent for the game.

There wont be any for release, just hope we get an improved medical system with the first campaign episode. But for now "no promises"...... -

If they are recycling parts within the game, they might aswell had made an Arma3 Operation Arrowhead, would have made things so much easier/better. Anyway, I personally dont mind alot about the content, I just want them to fix the gameplay and release arma2 MLODs. -
That is his own opinion, ofcourse you can disagree (last time I checked everyone was free to express his own opinion on the internet). But dont act like he just personally attacked you, he is not even bashing BIS like some other people do, he is actually listing valid arguments that back up his disappointment/opinion. If you are really "sick of all the whining" on these forums, then do us all a favour and start using your ignore button. You've got to be kidding me? You're saying his arguments are flawed while the only arguments you got is "The game has better visuals", what if I told you that its standard for sequals to have graphical improvements? Better editor modules while at the same time they removed the most important ones (ambient civs, ambient combat, first aid module, no gear load out in briefing) that arma 2 DID have. Yes radio comms have been improved and Altis is awesome, but Alwarren is talking about GAMEPLAY, which is a step back from arma2. He has perfectly explained why it is a step back. Again, your opinion may differ, depends on your playstyle, for some people these steps back are a gamebreaker to them. I dont consider something a wishlist if it was existing in arma2 and then "dumbed down/simplified" in arma3, valid point to complain about IMO. Lmao, you are taking it to a whole new level. Instead of "Its an Alpha", "Its a beta", "Wait for post release" or "Mod will save the day/mod it in yourself", we now should "Make the game yourself". Oh, well that explains everything.

It was in the lightning showcase on youtube, an offroad with the policelights on top.

BIS doesnt work on VBS3, BI SIM and BIS are 2 completely different companies. -
Nice post, sums up everything wrong with arma3 atm, and gamebreakers to many people I know. Yes.
-
Thanks, I hope they will be part of the update. I dont think we can expect a feature like that so close to release.

Congratz on this awesome release :D -
Yeah the FIA [independent], from what I have read they are the rebel type of faction, I'm wondering because of a mission I'm working on.
-
Does anyone know if we get the new faction this wednessday aswell? Or just more content for existing factions?

Can someone help me with the stutters from large mp battles?

Hi, Jester814 made a very good video tutorial about controlling AI in arma3, I recommend checking it out .For editor tutorials check out this I hope this is of any use to you. -
Actually, I believe that Arma3 was going to be a simulator, a true sequal to arma2 (with REAL simulation elements: improved medic system, ToH FM etc). Then probably alot of problems popped up for the dev team (that for example forced them to use steam only), and they had to switch plans. Removing the simulation focus, axing alot of features, simplifying features (saying they are more streamlined now) and "Balancing" the factions.. I think if these decisions weren't made, there wouldnt be an arma3 anymore (lack of time, just look at all the delaying of core game features). But I refuse to believe that arma3 was originally heading the wrong direction, and that the shifting of plans got it back on track, I'd say its the other way around.

There is already an existing thread about this issue: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?161326-What-happened-to-mouse-steering-cursor&highlight=mouse+steering The mouse steering is still there, but as far as I know you cannot enable the cursor like you could in arma2.

Sigh.. There are alot of people with PCs way better then the recommended requirements, that still experience this stuttering and performance problems in multiplayer. This is a problem with the engines optimization not the PCs themself (ofcourse there are people that just need to upgrade their pc). But only because you dont experience these performance issues doesnt give you the right to insult people that do have performance issues.

I dont think that BIS necessarily doesnt want to fix it, probably just lack of time (looking at how many stuff they axed/delayed), altough the lack of information about any plans for post release about this and other gamebreaking issues is frustrating.. I have to agree with Variable, instead of breaking the AI to make them equal to the player, BIS just needs to fix the players instead. If that means having to play with a "nerfed AI" until the issue does actually get fixed, then so be it. I personally wont be playing arma3 much until inertia and medical system get fixed anyway, but maybe thats just me :)

TPW CIVS: ambient civilians and traffic for Arma 3
-ghost-tf replied to tpw's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Awesome job mate, will test these right away. -
Regarding the sniper issue, BIS just needs to finaly introduce wind to the vanilla gameplay experience. Mods have been doing it for years now, saying that you should use other game elements to counter these overpowered snipers is a way around the issue, not a solution. But Ill stop going offtopic now (I think there was a dedicated thread for snipers somewhere) :) Altis is amazing, devs did a very good job on this one. Only on some places (mostly hills) you notice the ugly midrange textures, other then that, IMO best island in the arma series so far.
-
The problem is not AI being nerved, the problem is they will have to do it with the players now aswell, which I hope they will post release. Im just going to quote Varanon:

ArmA 3 beta - is the current build essentially going to be the same as retail?
-ghost-tf replied to Flogger23m's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Also: So I think there might be some content that they will hold back for release. As for significant improvements that the OP is asking for, devs were talking about some tweaks to existing features, but I dont think we will see any significant improvements. Because that could cause other problems to occur, which they ofcourse dont want so close to release (the data lock). Significant improvements (cough medical system cough) hopefully in a patch along with the first episode of the campaign. I might be wrong though. -
That video you linked, at 4:07. On the east side of Altis, is that a mountain covered with snow?? EDIT: ohh nevermind just salt lagoon..
