A List of Questionably Empty Promises

This was the statement of a dev about the placing explosives on vehicles: -
Nope, AFAIK only arma2 models, no maps.

There has been alot of screenshots of the F-35 ingame, even a video where a dev flies it over Altis. Other then that, yes, there is a screenshot of the F-35 inside the arma3 tactical guide, that comes with arma3 deluxe edition, provided by BIS. Enough reason why it should be inside the game, now go delete your account :P -
I am a player of BI games from OFP CWC. Heres what I think.

To be honest, with all the lack of time and recourses, I dont think they would have been able to do a proper future setting anyway. -
Are you going to stay on Stable or Dev Branch?
-ghost-tf replied to Smurf's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
I will be staying on the dev branch, when I do play, I play on private servers so not having issues with incompatible public servers anyway. -
On that pile over there, where all the other axed features belong.
-
Not sure if trolling or serious :D

Disapointed with the full release content
-ghost-tf replied to Tyl3r99's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
+1, im also very disappointed with rome2 and seems to be the same story: release game bugged/unfinished make it playable over the next couple of months by patches.. -
It basicly reverts the devbranch version to an older version to be on par with the stable release version. Later today we should be getting another dev branch update with all the changes/fixes they have been holding back on for the past weeks.
-
Just like how you kept mentioning that the game is still in beta, while the full release is no different from the past dev branch version with just a few extra showcases..
-
I think sombody forgot something...
-ghost-tf replied to lavbo0321's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
People have been wondering what happened to this feature since alpha, and its pretty obvious that this has been axed and might show up post release... -
Confirmed. I think this is its ticket: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=10249 Confirmed and upvoted. After second time pressing the preview button game freezes and then crashes to desktop.

My answer was directed to that you said, people keep raising the FAKs complaint again and again endlessly. A3 might not be dumbed down in your opinion, but the medical system surely is, compared to the arma2 first aid module. There also seems to be a new trend where people have to fix all sort of game issues/bugs/bad design decisions (<--opinions..) themselfs by either using/making mods or mission design. Is that what Arma3 is all about now? Fixing the game yourself? I know they are not broken, with broken I meant that your logic could easily be applied to anything, including broken things. It shouldnt, but currently it is. I thought that is what this thread was all about "What more is it that have been simplified?" :D
-
Ofcourse, because asking for an improved medical system equals "super-mega-ultra sim"... And ofcourse its OK to tell someone else to spend 5 seconds (5 seconds my ass) to remove all the FAKs or having to use mods to fix it, but if someone tells YOU to download a mod yourself that makes the game more casual its not OK right? The improved medical system that was added later into arma2 was added as an optional module in the editor (First aid module), why should it be any different for arma3?
-
Sigh.. I cant wait till that argument becomes invalid.. Only 11 hours 36 minutes and 21 seconds. The question was "Is the game dumbed down?". And people answered by mentioning the FAKs, because the medical aspect of the game has indeed been dumbed down. Since every unit in arma3 has a FAK and vehicles got alot of them it would be pretty annoying for a mission maker to remove them for every mission he makes (even for units that get spawned in you need to removed the FAKs), so yeah I dont think alot of missionmakers would bother. But still if you keep following this logic, nothing in arma3 will ever get improved/fixed. Something broken? Fix it yourself, or let some missionmaker/modmaker fix it for you.. I think you misunderstood it. The arma3 movement is currently so ridiculous that those people (including me)prefer the "Arma 2 mannequin movement". Yeah, because why would we need/want an improved medical system if missionmakers can just unfuck the current system.. Great job man, keep on defending the flaws of A3. lol.
-
You're kidding right?
-
Nope, you cannot. Opinions.. :) A2's movement was not perfect, and had alot of issues but it was certainly better then what we have now (IMO), making the new system also shit :P If he didnt care, he wouldnt be here.

Will ArmA "stable" be MP compatible with "Dev."after official release?
-ghost-tf replied to giorgygr's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Looks like we can, havent figured out how to do it yet though :) -
Infantry combat has definitely improved, few questions though
-ghost-tf replied to the_blitz6794's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
There is a section in the field manual about high command, might be usefull to you :) -
Disapointed with the full release content
-ghost-tf replied to Tyl3r99's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
I think the reason for that is if someone complained back then, they would get flooded with reactions like: The alpha hasnt even been released yet, its an alpha or its a beta etc. Its probably more that it took people till now to realize that everything will stay like this and this is actually what we are getting for release. -

-ghost-tf replied to Tyl3r99's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
It is beta already :) What we have now content wise in the dev branch is what we get for release. You can assume that that has been axed, together with the "arma2 version" where you could change gear in the mission briefing screen. -
Some people actually care about gameplay instead of only shiny graphics, yes the vehicles look great to me aswell, awesome textures. But that doesnt make arma3 better then arma2. Im speaking for myself and a group of people that I know, there might be some complainers that only care about the graphics tho...

Anyone else concerned about ARMA 3 launch September?
-ghost-tf replied to ShotgunSheamuS's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Not really, post release support is optional, and you never know what happens that may prevent them from supporting the game after release *cough* acr dlc This. Again that argument, because some things were badly implemented/not working properly in arma2 (campaign for example) we might aswell scrap them completely from arma3 instead of improving them right? Well the missions I played had alot of variety and im sure all the content in arma2 was usefull to me. No, it will not bring additional stuff, it will mostly bring stuff that were supposed to be in the game for release. And wether arma3 has all the necessary for release is subjective, some people consider the campaign, multiple planes, field hospital or other content necessary. -
Towing vehicles and bloodloss/improved medical system has been axed together with some other features on the confirmed features list, I think blood trails are in the game (but make no sense since you do not actually bleedout). Im not sure what they mean with shockwaves, like the dust effect on the ground when something explodes? Or just taking damage from the shockwave, but havent seen that ingame aswell :) Still wondering what happened to the loadout selector inside the editor....
