hi everybody, in the last few hours I've made some progress, but still have a problem I can't find an answer to: I've managed to get my vehicle ingame, but it only works if I don't binarize it (uncheck the box in binpbo), otherwise it will still crash. I also remembered to check the logfile, which is different, depending whether i just go directly from the blender export script to pbo-packaging or opening and saving it in the Object Builder first.

anybody got an idea what that means?
but i most concerning issue atm is that ingame, my vehicle direction is flipped, it thinks my front is my back and vice versa, this also happens when i go into 3rd person, the camera will make a quick 180 degree turn, showing the front of the vehicle and not the back how it should be. I flipped my model in blender 180° around the z-axis, but this error stiill occurs. anybody got an idea how to fix this?

Hi everybody,
I'm new to ARMA modding, and now I'm stuck at finding out what's wrong with my vehicle. I had a look on the arma 3 sample files, and made all the selections according to them, except lights, pip and fuel/speed indicators, which i just left out, because i just want a simple working car, i can look at the specifics later. also deleted the respective elements in the config files ( i hope correctly, but maybe here lie my errors?). I've modelled everything in Blender and exported with the FHQ-p3d script. It packs fine into a pbo file, at least it doesn't give me any errors, but when i place the car ingame and click preview, the game-bar loads halfway and then stops, so I have to esc out of there. I've also checked the rpt files for errors, which are a lot, but I don't know which belong to my car:

Hello, I hope I made it into the right section of the forum.
If it's possible, I would like to create a mod that allows the artillery vehicles to shoot at targets with low angle, thus shortening the time and improving the accuracy compared to the current high angle.
BUT I have absolutely zero experience with modding or coding, that's why I need help. In fact I can't even estimate if my lack of tecnical knowledge will prevent me from achieving anything, but I'd thought the least I could do is ask.
Does anybody know of tutorials or explanations that could help me? E.g. where the file(s) of the ballistic calculator are located, how they work and how to change them?

my math's unfortunatly too bad to handle airfriction, so if i just had to fill out some cells to get an arty table it would be nice.

so i've played a bit with the m4 scorcher, and found out when using the artillery computer it always takes the high angle, which takes much longer and is way more inaccurate.
i know it's possible to aim manually with pgup/down, but there is no information available for the angles, so it's basicly try and error...
does someone know the way arma 3 calculates the balistic trajectories? like some kind of formula that takes the distance, altitude difference and the kind of fire type (close, medium etc) and gives out the correct angle? guess that's how the ballistic calculator ingame works, but i haven't found an explanation of it on the internet.
i also suck at programming and dont really have the time to dig through all the modules to find some code i dont understand, so any help would be higly appreciated :)

what i imagined was like that i press a key, and this changes the view distance to a predefined value.
searched for a few minutes but didnt find anything, but didnt know to what exactly search for.

hello, i know this post is kinda ancient but it still the newest one i could find...
after some flying in dayz (i now higly regret i didnt buy it earlier) i also encountered the rudder problem and inspired by this thread (http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?108410-A-fix-for-Full-Axis-throttle-mapping) it came to my mind that i could write a rudder fix with glovepie.
so here it is:

basicly what it does is that if one of the rudder keys is released, it moves a slider of a virtual joystick to 1/8 of its direction, this will disable the oscillating of the rudder without changing the direction of the aircraft. how to set up glovepie and ppjoy is already described in the throttle-fix-thread, so i dont really wanna repeat it here.
i have just discoverd glovepie and ppjoy so i know this script can be simplified a lot, but it works fine for me so i dont really want to spent time and effort in it. this is why i had to use some additional keys (u and p, which before have to be deleted from the arma controls of course) because i dont know the commands to set joystick sliders.
also to get arma to recongize the virtual joystick the /8 has to be removed, otherwise the virtual slider movement will be too small for arma to detect.

the combined arms showcase was incredibly frustrating for me, even on recruit with friendly ai to 1 and enemy to 0, but maybe im just a noob? after capturing the outpost, bot apc and choppa were gone, and about 5 of my squad left, with the enemy able to get precise shots from 300m with the standart reflex sights. and once the enemy car showed up it killed the entire friendly ai within seconds cause they were all standing all together in his view, lockon with the at-weapon was also bugged/didnt work...
i finally beat it by using only the grenade launcher from behind cover and shooting the ifrit when it drove directly to me (lock-on still didnt work), but it was really frustrating
