  1. Awesome new release! I will test it off steam and see how it goes, but I have other issues with the launcher not showing workshop mods. Comment: In the dropbox link, change the 0 at the end to a 1. It will immediately allow users to download instead of trying to navigate all those confirmations from dropbox.

    I love this! I wish other cDLC team will do one in the future as well! Even for the official DLC teams like Contact and Law of War! PS: I do not want to spoil this amazing AMA but I agree with both developers about your favorite vehicle for IRL! I love the outdoor and 100% agree with your comments! It's too bad it is technically not legal everywhere! 😄
  3. @ tpw Steam Workshop CANNOT download into or install outside of the mod folder directory. I have never seen it anyways. Perhaps you can LOOK into porting the *.HPP file into CBA settings? This way it can be SET inside a profile but it is a pain to ALT TAB between a text file and ARMA 3 to copy and paste in settings, such as skirmish. Or just use a HUGE font for the text on how to manually copy the *.HPP file into the userconfig folder.

    Run the ARMA 3 Launcher and sort by players, descending order. You will see a LOT of online players. Yes, ARMA 3 is still alive with enough to keep everyone a tad happy until ARMA 4!

Nice to have a glass window cleaning station with tools

    Late to the party but I was testing Ravage AI and I found a crew of AI Survivors. They offered to sell me gear and I "looked" into their backpack, did not take anything. 3 seconds later they called me out and shot me point blank! I love it. Not going to allow my mates to get away with it. LOL!

    Can you just skip weapon pool then? Just set some "default" settings to carry on? I was playing around with Ravage thanks to the incredible members of this forum and maybe there is a hack to do it with GRAD Persistence saving. https://github.com/gruppe-adler/grad-persistence Run the campaign in MP or COOP mode, even if SP. When the player switches to the next mission, their gear is saved and reloaded! You can just define a box or crate at the end of the mission, tell the user to store their gear in it for the next mission, then save it prior to switching to the next mission. The mod automatically saves the player's loadout and/or stored gear and condition if scripted when the mission "shutsdown" as it switches to another. I tried this multiple times in HOSTED mode. Gear up, quit the game, restart it and it LOADED UP all my previous gear and location. If I switch to a new terrain with the same GRAD Persistence setting, it also fully geared me up with whatever was last saved. If I died, it erased my saved settings so I started fresh but this was a script event. We can share those GRAD scripts if you want to test it out. Credits goto MuRaZorWitchKING and other members from the Ravage thread for this. Just an idea.
  9. Maybe we should set a new TARGET for the future. Instead of only just 1080p, maybe 1440p or 4K Ultra with similar draw/object distances to increase details and ideally with a DLC such as Tanoa or even SOGPF. Even though not everyone owns it, the sheer density from those terrain alone would be a good indicator of possible future GPU or system impacts. This would probably be tested by users with 1080 GTX or faster at those resolutions with good CPU/RAM as well. I am playing DayZ SA as well and while it appears to run BETTER on my system than ARMA 3, even owning Livonia on both games, I know in the future ARMA 4 will be able to "support" more details. I do not expect ARMA 4 to have less visual fidelity or lower system demands just to keep 30 FPS at 2K or 4K resolutions

  12. @ TPW I was playing around with Ravage (yeh, I am cross posting, but I cannot get enough of it even though I own DayZ SA), and tried tpw mod's furniture function for Weferlingan but nothing spawned for those custom houses. CUP, Tanoa, Livonia all worked as usual... I do not have CSLA cDLC yet so have not tested. Should we, meaning me, start to work on GM building compositions for TPW mod? I believe we will stick with basic built in game assets + cDLC or do we want to consider that users will be willing to download the matching "compatibility" data sets for cosmetic objects? I was also thinking about another user's post about accessing cDLC/DLC buildings without owning the actual DLCs. Another idea would be to offer a random set of very smallish compositions (similar to parked cars) but scripted to detect and to fill in blank, barren or open areas of the terrain such as camper's bases, old abandoned houses or overgrowth towns, or refugee camps, homeless encampments, outdoor rave, Burning Man event, etc... to liven up some of the bigger terrains... Just for cosmetics... then add civilians or parked cars or zombies or whatever to suit the composition needs.

    I played Resistance in ARMA 3 and honestly, I ranked that higher than CWC Campaign in terms of storytelling. I am almost finished with the Red Hammer Campaign, but was drawn away by Ravage mod so will resume to finish up the last handful of missions. Looking forward to replaying Resistance again after RH!
  14. You have to admit, GrooveC makes a good point if we are giving advice to ARMA players if they are looking to purchase NEW equipment today or tomorrow. For similar money, GrooveC showed that the minimum performance is nearly the same as your average. That is a huge impact on today and tomorrows desktop usage. That is important information as NEW hardware purchase buyers also usually have an eye towards the future. Even though I am on an relatively older system, I would not recommend anyone to purchase a new PC JUST for ARMA 3 alone so long as their system is close to mine or better. Better to give advice to cover their near future and future use if possible.

    Interesting comments. I have never had this experience of penetration yet I do use it UAS without the AAPM advanced armor plate companion mod so that probably has skewed some effects. I would not use UAS without AAPM though due to possible unbalancing. Even GM mod has ballistics penetration higher than default ARMA 3, which it appears to be claimed is higher than RHS already. If you do not mind, I will forward the mentioned link from BIS to the creator of UAS for his comments. This was not meant to derail RHS but was a question when mixing RHS with vanilla and other mods to have "relatively" , not necessarily "uniformed" ballistics characteristics against each other.

    Excellent to know this. It is great to understand ballistics so long as the mod sets stays confined within itself. If we begin to mix mods say RHS + ARMA 3 or RHS + GM or other DLC/cDLC, then the ballistic characters create confusion over weapon performance. I would like to ask if you have tested with Universal Ammo System: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1809369854 It's a mod that basically unifies the ballistics performance based on caliber of the ammunition. There is a companion mod AAPM to it as well for infantry balancing. You can then compare it against similar yet vanilla ARMA 3 weapons with the same magazines.

    The object/composition duplication happened again! What I did was SAVE AS into a new mission name, loaded the mission in MP mode and then the composition duplicated over itself. Chaos ensued as the objects performed ARMA aerobatics. Thank you. Noted. I'm just playing with it to understand the scripting and MP variable listing. I won't release it and will only use or test the persistence. I will ask my mates to play together on your server instead for your mission. Thank you!

    Thank you on this! Thanks for the info! I will need to spend some time to understand how the script works! Edit - I fixed it. It was loading 3x of the SAME composition after I checked the objects list in EDEN! I tried your mission file and loaded my composition into the main mission as a test. If I logout, rejoin and respawn, it reloads the composition TWICE! Then ARMA physics kicks and the composition goes crazy. I believe one instance is from the mission itself after I loaded and saved the mission from EDEN, and another is because of the GRAD save system reloading it as a bunch of objects? I tested it by playing the mission in MP mode from 3den. I did not setup a dedicated server yet to try to load it. Thanks for the advice. Diving in and trying to figure it all out bit by bit. Highly appreciate it. PS: is the TEMPERATURE system listed in Celsius or Fahrenheit? 34 Celsius is HOT! Can we set this to SHOW F or C?

    I have question Ravagers... Dabbling in EDEN I had setup a safety zone. I can save it as composition as well. Is it possible to store that as a server side spawn or do I need to have it loaded into the mission file, in the same space where I put the Ravage modules? Where or how do I setup the MP spawn points? Or do I set a few around the same area? What if I want to designate zones the players can spawn in or randomize it? Also do you recommend Vanderson's Apocalypse to save persistence with @IniDB so I can setup a coop server with friends, leave it online with password so we can replay at the last point? Right now we just want to setup a test for survival group playing, COOP vs Zombies and AI. I cannot tell from the Ravage save module or the Wiki how to setup MP spawning. Thanks!
  22. Actually, I would like the gun locker for Ravage. I put DayZ there because many people looking for the DayZ experience on ARMA 3 will find it in Ravage, but a whole lot more. There are only a handful of Ravage servers online. Many are SP, COOP. I think we can just make a composition but it would be nice to have a real gun locker for ARMA 3 in general. If someone is charging money for a DayZ server, even on ARMA 3, they should pay a % of the fees to the mod developers to support it. But I am not sure what kind of money would be made in terms of monthly income.
  23. @oldbear my old system holds up in ARMA now thanks to GrooveC's recommendations. I have the SAME conundrum as other users in that we want something great to play ARMA 3 and be future proof for a good value. AMD Ryzen 5 series is the best performance, but price per core is higher than Intel and what we think the market value should be. The 5800x price per core is atrocious. Hence we look at 5600x if buying new, but then we lose 2 cores for OTHER usage and games. I started to dabble in 3den. I found myself loading up Audacity and Paint.net to dabble in customs assets. Falling into that rabbit hole called mission making (plopping down modules is like a Pandora's box - both good and bad, goes deeper into mission making), etc... So more RAW CPU IPC and speed is welcomed for ARMA dues to single tasking threads, but at the same time, more cores is "want" for other tasks. I'm not going to drop 600 USD just to double my FPS in ARMA, then get held back on a core level for other work later. Worst case, I drop my settings to LOW and set textures to ULTRA to compensate for more FPS. I've waited so long so can wait a few more months to not regret it. It is about value for money at this point. I already know my target upgrade.
  24. Please make a gun locker! There are gun "racks" but sometimes we need an enclosure that can be opened and locked, for mission making such as a Survivor mode or even Ravage/DayZ type game play to loot or secure our arms. It can be the same locker, vertical mounting of weapons up to X size, ideally to fit a long rifle or two sizes for carbines and one for long rifles. Just changed the color slightly or keep it the same color. We can tell when we open it. 😄 Other ideas for working objects model: Metal gate /heavy door for Amory room that we can "secure". We have issues that FMJ can pierce walls so it should be a door, with a metal texture and related phsyics of light armor vehicles, with a matching wall "plate" that we can secure the amory or safe room. It can be "blown" opened for example with enough force but should make FMJ ammo not as lethal. Players can layer on top to increase protection values.
