    Remnant

@ Haleks - it is like a completely new game! Please work on an MP survival game mode in this universe! Edit... I just had a crazy idea so just give me a laugh fellas but I had both a web browser looking at Halek's pictures and the new CSLA cDLC reviews within the Steam Client Side by Side (poor CSLA... I might get it for the map based on the review)... What if Halek and the community, expands this mission/mod into MP and offers map compatibility for the DLC/cDLC and User made maps, but we allow a twist: Remnant Scavenger units find an anomaly that enables time travel in Future Altis/Stratis, and they must seek out resources from the DLC/cDLC/User maps within those "time periods" to complete their overall mission ala "Time Bandits" movie: DLC/cDLC/User maps 1 - mission 1 DLC/cDLC/User maps 2 - mission 2 DLC/cDLC/User maps 3 - mission 3 This would span against multiple DLC/cDLC/User maps, tho the main mission should be finishable if an ARMA owner does not own all the DLC/cDLC, so like a user map can be an alternative to official content mission. Should be an MP game so after the mission completes, the group of Time Travelers have their gear saved (inidb mod?) then proceed to the next map/mission. The Remnant Scavenger group must be balanced against becoming OP vs old tech. Ideally, it would be like Ravage for balance. Limited use due to lack of support in past time continuum. Sorry, just thinking out loud but it would be an interesting way to tie all the ARMA 3 content together and lead into ARMA - Future Cold War 4.0! 😄

Arma 3 Creator DLC: CSLA Iron Curtain

I am like TPW and bought Tanoa and SOGPF right away for the Map, plus cool gear (CSAT Vipers FTW and Mollies from SOGPF!). I ended up buying the other DLC including BI's on sale to complete it, and to get rid of that damn in game MP watermarks, but feel lackluster: Livonia is beautiful but not "interesting" enough. It is TOO clean and barely any servers playing mods on it. GM - I tried to play Escape online (to get to know the game) and was kicked off the only server hosting it so I will never know unless I play Escape or Ravage in SP. If this map is "good" like Cam Lao Nam (what an awesome map) then I will buy it (on sale) just for it. But it really needs some new buildings and MP support to get me to buy nowadays. SOGPF has a good MP community and MP game mode. Tanoa has great assets in general and good SP and MP game support. If this cDLC map gains MP support (even a cold war era escape mission) and polish up all those things, then I will consider buying it (when on sale) but it seems to not warrant the full price right now.

Arma 4 a look to the future

If reforger is an extension of taking ARMA game capability + remaking assets as a test bed in Enfusion engine, like Malden 2035 for ARMA 3, then I am excited for it. Basically like a "game engine" with test content to see prep the ARMA community to ARMA 4. I hope it is FREE with editor capabilities to let modders begin porting / testing / creating and playing with it for the future. I liked the current DayZ SA but its not really my game and still needs to be updated to today's game engine standards. Hope Reforger is a test of things to come. I would glady back BIS when they have ARMA 4 Alpha ready like how ARMA 3 was.

Welcome back! Loved it in ARMA 2, now to ARMA 3!

    Baby Faces by Hautautuja

Very cool... I want to see this as a mod as well. I think it can be done by looking at other face mod configs and just changing the texture file names to match, with updated credits.

    Armaholic is gone

I think it is really sad. Foxhound has ALWAYS been friendly and supportive of the community. Steam WorkShop integration for ARMA 3, good or bad, DID divide and dilute the community from ARMAHOLIC and these forums. I know there were some issues behind the scenes, I was not privilege to the details, but hoped it would be worked out. At the very least, I hope ARMAHOLIC would be archived maybe in the Internet Archive? But better yet Foxhound should be an official curator on a unified supported platform. Steam Workshop has ownership issues for mod authors. I know this is an ongoing problem... so perhaps a third party system would be best, outside of Steam, maybe even outside of BIS to allow independence to cater to the community and free BIS from criticism. I like Moddb, but I am unsure how to manage all the content Foxhound has curated over the years! The DB side is just flat listing. Unsure how to make it eloquent yet easy to use for all the different sub mod categories for example. If we need a fund raising to enable this, perhaps Foxhound can review this and put together options for the community to review. I wish you well Foxhound. We await your return in any shape or form, Comrade!

    co10 Escape

I've been playing this mission ON and OFF, fantastic way to introduce the gear and units to both sides for new cDLC owners and I wanted to ask is it possible to designate one of the COMMS to be INSIDE the tunnels? I see there are COMMS type tunnel setup in Eden... Just saying sneak in, fight the tunnels and then escaping would be an epic option. Not all COMMS has to be like this of course.

    Ravage

Just loaded up EDEN + SOGPF + RAVAGE only. ADD Tunnel module ADD Ravage modules Set DEAD RISING ON Test mission Enter tunnel... bam bam.. bam bam... OMG what the hell?! Who are those guys getting up!?! I need to think about this more with a COOP theme... Tunnels + RAVAGE + Dead RISING ... GTFO!!!! EVERYBODY NEEDS to d/l the SOGPF compatibility mod NOW or buy the cDLC!!!

    Install DLC from thumb drive??

I had a similar issue, where STEAM thought my ARMA 3 was NOT installed, yet all the game files were on my SSD. So you need to have your team members buy the DLC first. So STEAM knows they own it. Close STEAM at this point. Make sure you have the SAME installation as they SHOULD have, same cDLC, etc... Then you need to also send them YOUR appmanifest_107410.acf file from YOUR x:\steam\steamapps\ folder Have your team members put this file into THEIR x:\steam\steamapps\ folder X in this case means the drive where their ARMA 3 is installed in such C or D or whatever. Now have them START STEAM, LOGIN and VERIFY the ARMA 3 GAME files. It should detect attempt to check for these files on THEIR HDD/SSD as the appmanifest_107410.acf tells steam it exists so it will check it. It might download a few files due to difference CRC for example but it should work. PS: Keep a backup of the appmanifest_107410.acf file, you can just copy and rename it as *.bak in case some ARMA 3 game files becomes missing but you know it is physically on your HDD. Just copy back the backup and let steam verify.

    Ravage

I wanted to ask if it was possible to have Ravage spawn AI and Loot into the tunnel systems of SOGPF using the compatibility files mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2477276806&searchtext=compatibility Would be awesome as a hostile base to attack for loot, or a survivors base to reach to call for extract? Also would it be within Ravage's scope to ADD tunnel bases to other maps using the SOGPF compatibility files on Steam workshop or would that be a Vandeanson's Apocalypse mod type request? I think non owners of SOGPF can at least enter the buildings and tunnels from the SOGPF compatibility files. No need to access weapons or gear other than to dress up the zombies so everyone can enjoy Ravage more.
  12. I have to admit the sonic cracks from both JSRS and SOGPF are off when I use 3D positioning sound or stereo. I cannot tell the direction of the shots. I can with Dynasound 2.0 or ESS loaded. Also, I would request mortar or light artillery strikes to include the "whistle" sound when the shell/warhead is arriving near the target like this: For example, I can hear it in CUP and it helps with the immersion.
  13. Open your ARMA 3 Launcher Goto MODS Find UNSUNG - type that into the filter box Right click on UNSUNG, open the folder Go into BOTH "KEYS" and "ADDONS" folder Find, if any, older *.KEY or *.BISIGN files and delete them. Or just delete these files. Then REPAIR the mod - it will redownload the missing files. If the above does not work, sort the ADDONS folder by DATE. Look at the oldest files, it might be a few months older than the latest files, delete those, then REPAIR the folder again. Some mods have older files in the folders that were not deleted during an update and can cause problems.
  14. It should automatically enable the mod when you join servers that require this cDLC, if you are using the ARMA 3 LAUNCHER. If you go straight into the game, then select multiplayer, then select a server, the mod and other mods might not have been enabled or loaded. At least it does for me when I switch between servers. Verify your game files from the STEAM menu to ensure there are no corrupted files.

    Ravage

I horde on those and just love passing them back to the enemy! Plus the throw range on that! We need vanilla ARMA to extend that fix back to the normal game.
  16. There is workaround for this. Use Universal Ammo System and Advance Armor Protection System found on Steam workshop. It is ACE and non-ACE compatible and has many patches for many mods. Really unifies the damage ballistics so everything feels "relative"! I play almost exclusively in SP with this unless a MP or COOP servers does not have it. Works great even with zombie mods for example when ACE medical may affect it.

Arma 4 a look to the future

Engine looks really good but those explosions needs work! It's so overused in other UE games that we can tell it came from UE! I wonder will Enfusion or ARMA 4 get RTGI like Metro Exodus, with a slider for range to calculate and scale up? I like it a lot, but understand RTGI cannot be used extensively in the full open world. Just within some FOV would suffice! I think DayZ SA could be tested for it.

    Ravage

So recently I have been cycling between ESCAPE, SOGPF, RAVAGE and Arma 3 Survival mod (online only). more not so original ideas - previously I asked for zombie skin camo - aka "Whisperers" from Walking Dead. and playing Arma 3 Survival, they had crafting of the hobo backpack from DayZ SA and ghillie suits. Can we have survival rough ghillie suits like SOGPF with the twigs and leaves?! It should give a bonus vs AI in terms of camo effectiveness and would work great for MP. Maybe Ravage 3.0? Same for camo vehicles. Just duct tape the branches to the cars or bicycles.

    Ravage

Hi Johnnyboy, I think we need to config a custom setup under Ravage or supplement with Vandeanson's Apocalypse to use the MELEE weapons, it does work for weapons spawing but the AI should work as in this video and small faction mod for example from Poppa on Steam Workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2475422949 Those are AI units equipped with the MELEE mod. We should have some low tech survivors armed like this. Even as low tech guards in the traders for example. Its too bad we do not have a sophisticated AI mod that lets the AI prioritize weapons and looting such as escalating from melee, hand guns, rifles, explosives and gear so it feels more real.
  20. Hello Duc, Try editing this line to "1" to force flies all the time: tpw_firefly_largeswarm = 1; // Chance of a large swarm (5 X tpw_firefly_swarmsize) spawning near player. 0 = never, 1 = always Right now it was set to 10%. Upping it would be better to over 0.5 or 50% but enable it fully to see it works first.
  21. I have a request or should we help out? Map Specific Zombies? I mean just use the heads and AI of Max or any other zombie mod, but use the uniforms specific for the MAP? Obviously for CAM LAO NAM, we would use SOGPF cDLC gear for "period authentic" as the map is only available in the mod. Maybe for Livonia or GM or Tanoa as well? We can create some classes I guess to enable this? I can try to create the classes. I'm guessing orbat configs would work?

    Ravage

@johnnyboy I want to see Ravage Giants in Cam Lao Nam! Who is with me!?! Hoorah!!! PS: AI can use this MELEE mod fully working! Just need to create a compatibility patch to SOGPF melee weapons! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2291129343 Works great in combo with Ravage!

I wanted to ask this since I just remember in ARMA 2 and 3 builds of Unsung had sniper trees! Is this in SOGPF? I don't want spoilers but please do not say "no". Say maybe if yes. :) Or we can supplement with Unsung Redux?

    Having to pay

Actually, it is something NEW and NOT officially part of the ARMA 3 universe. Modders were creating content for free and some wanted to create games from it but not all can create a full game with licensing charges nor can Bohemia provide full resources for a full game. The cDLC may also NOT be part of the ARMA 3 universe (except Contact), so they can make whatever they want. Basically, Bohemia just made it easier and legal for 3rd party developers to create a "game" using ARMA 3 as a base, but it can also be used as part of ARMA 3, since it self integrates into it as a DLC. So you are basically buying a "game" packaged as a DLC. No 60 USD full price, no separate game install, just a mod pack to enable and most the money and development support goes back to the 3rd party developer. Bohemia just QA/QC and helps gets it integrated into the ARMA 3 engine and helps to publish it. Remember, they still have to give up 30% of the price to STEAM, so Bohemia is basically just covering their support costs. I think the actual developers get less than 50% of the total costs at the end of the day. That is like 10 USD. People donate more than to mod teams! Look at Patreon! Completely worth it to support hard core fans making commercial grade games using our favorite game engine.

I agree with you 100% but let me answer your question: It is not fully accurate, it has bugs like the AA guns NOT penetrating one of those harder than Kryptonite Tanoa trees, but the overall value was worth it to me. I paid TWICE what you would have paid for it. I can say I measure ANY value by the amount of time I would spend on it. So far, I have 4-5 hours of enjoyment online in COOP ESCAPE @ 20 USD. That is ~ 4 USD per hour. That is about the SAME price for a mantinee movie, at half price where I am. I personally have only BEGUN to enjoy it because some of my favorite servers have it installed and players are playing right now. When I am online with a group of 4-10, knee deep in the jungle, old tech gear, trying to survive and reach the end game, I completely forget all the inaccuracy. I can say those hours are incrediblely IMMERSIVE. The next step for me would be to go half or full VR/AR. I was actually sweating during each combat phase especially in the dark, with no NVG, but footsteps and voice all around us. It was nerve racking which is the opposite of ARMA with high tech gear. Also, as I have said previously, I think I only saw 10-15% of the map. What I saw was detailed rich, probably inaccurate in terms of historical reference, but good enough for the experience. Lastly, I'm also also a big fan of Vietcong and its sequels and still have good memories of those first experiences back then. I feel this game in first person with a VR goggle set would be insanely killer. Even without VR, the slow advancements towards our objective was riveting, to me. The only negatives or positives were that there were no smell of burnt gun powder, soggy jungle, cooked bodies, scorched earth or the sweet scent of napalm, nor the buzzing mosquitoes, nor the wet soaked boots causing foot rot, nor the real body fatigue (well, some due to bad sitting posture for a 3 hour game session). I have the heat and humidity where I am located though. Everything was right there. I think the SOGPF team should do a FREE weekend and let everyone try it. I advised this for all cDLC and DLC because if we never allow potential gamer buyers to try the content in full glory, some of them will fence wobble and never appreciate the experience the developers were trying to present. There is absolutely ZERO lost of sales from free demo days. It only drives more sales for GOOD products. CRAP products can go back to the drawing boards and become purchase worthy. That is how the world works. I can say that SOGPF is, personally, worth double your local buying price or wait for sale so you won't have buyers remorse spending more on a DLC than a beer, movie or pizza.
