2035 - Check new Vehicles - Check new Ships - Check Spratly Islands?! That is really SMALL in terms of terrain design... We already have user made terrains like that - Kerama and Wake Island in the workshop! If you proceed, you should model some anti-ship defense and sea to land bombardment systems... That is probably a more likely requirement by that time ... no one is going to allow some "freedom of navigation" rule to get close to their territorial range if they have the ballistic muscles to back it up. You can keep it interesting with land to sea or low earth orbit hypersonic drones or cruise missile system a la Reagan's Star Wars program. Heck, even that low orbit steel rain system (Project Thor) would be interesting to see modeled since we now have militarized space. Would be interesting but Amphibious assaults ships are so WW2. Those guys would be useful for a clean up operation, AFTER softening up the LZ. -
@ Patpgtips @ Neoarmageddon I will try to record a video clip next time this happens. It happened on Chernarus cities and forest. Both Normal and Winter versions. After the first firefight with a group, as we are leaving, we get mobbed by a squad or squads around us. We know it is not another AI squad running towards us because we can see or hear them as we scout out our perimeter.

You can also use Natural Reader https://www.naturalreaders.com/online/ and SAVE it as a MP3 file, the cut it up into voice files, and save it as a PBO. If you guys want to try it, we can do it as a community thing where everyone does 1 or 2 a week to get it done. However, the TEXT must be grammatically correct in the TARGET language, even if the voice might sound robotic. I vote we get the DLC/cDLC voices done first, like Vietnamese, Chinese and etc... because it will apply universally, then followed by other popular languages based on requests.

I wanted to ask if the settings for the AI spawn are set by the server or locked in the mission files? We have been playing on Outkast's escape server. With a handful of players starting out 2-5, we notice the AI seems to POP out in front of us ~ 100-200 m out. Sometimes, it feels like they literally spawn on top of us less than 50 m away. We know this because we were facing a direction it appeared in front of us. I didn't know the AI had Star Trek type teleportation! Should have VAC and BE banned those AI hackers!!! I have been playing with the DayZ SA AI modded servers as well and they have set the AI to spawn OUTSIDE of the player's or the group radius so it appears the players or AI have naturally approached onto each other. Can you guys check this?

I think by default, video drivers will cache and load up as MUCH as possible into video ram to prevent stuttering and improve response time accessing video assets. For your crashing issue, are you sure you are running in 64-Bit mode so the Windows OS can manage memory properly? Most crashing is due to memory management, or overheating of CPU/GPU due to OC or summer times, or bad drivers. You can try to set ARMA to use 64-bit if you have not already by reading the last few posts here: -

I suggest you try it when DayZ has a free weekend. I purchased DayZ SA RECENTLY after playing Ravage with Enhanced Movement and Melee. I have to say DayZ SA is now on par yet different as those enhancements are built in but it does not have the advanced scripting or AI of ARMA 3. Animation is not Kludgy at all, not saying the ARMA 3 mods are kludgy but feels more smoother due to having resources directly from BIS to make it. In ARMA 3, I need to use the animation fix and REAL mod to speed up animations or it feels "slow". Melee is used for PVP combat when you run out of ammo. There are tons of melee weapons mod on Steam Workshop now for it as well. I feel way more "immersed" running DayZ Cherno than ARMA 3 Cherno for example. The development team really tuned it for being there. I think it is the nuances of the idle animations or the way the character bobs that make it feels more there. The DayZ TODAY is NOT the old 0.xx versions. That was basically DayZ mod ported with Cherno+ terrain. DayZ SA now is a work of love for what it is... Sound system is awesome. I love it over ARMA 3 default gun sounds. While the DayZ engine is a stripped ARMA 3 engine with new animation system and renderer, those enhancements are worthy of enhancing ARMA because of better techniques hence I am looking forward to what BIS will bring to the FULL FAT ENFUSION engine for ARMA 4. Lastly, it seems to run better for me but as I stated, I do not know if DayZ EXTREME is the same as ARMA 3 ULTRA settings. Same PC, no difference. BTW: DayZ is literally a COOP game to have a good time. I play with only 1 other player who had it and it is was incredibly fun. It is super hostile as a solo game due to PVP. ARMA 3 you at least had access to an AI squad as your backup or to draw enemy fire while you snipe at them so the "experience" is totally different. But we are not comparing that. Just the game engine enhancements and improvements we would like to see for ARMA 4 and competitive engines. -

I want the DayZ RENDERER and animations system ported to ARMA 3 engine so we can use it! It seems to be way smoother for some reason when I compared Chernarus from CUP in EDEN in ARMA 3 vs DayZ Chernarus+. It could be the actual FOV and quality settings as there do not seem to be corresponding rendering distance settings from DayZ to match ARMA 3 though. The DayZ animation improvements are great. I cannot wait for ARMA 4 sandbox engine with Enfusion improvements! -
Looking forward to it! I love seeing and playing on servers who change the towns or build new towns or objective areas for players to visit. This is one of the best features of ARMA, to allow players to change the layouts of towns.

Frostbite engine is NOT BAD but it was limited to rail shooters or small maps like Source for a long time. Even Rockst*r's GTA engine was closer to ARMA but no editor or player mod support officially. Good to see competition. -
You You can set your server to use the GM, SOGPF and CSLA Data Compatibility mods. This will allow you to use the buildings but not the gear, weapons or vehicles. The CDLC owners and AI can use it. Just like the DLC content, you can SEE it, and AI and DLC owners can "use" it. The only thing missing would be the terrains and the campaign or missions. I think the houses and terrain objectives are worth considering to any vanilla server to make other missions fun, like adding new bases and houses to existing maps.

LOVE IT! Been waiting for something like this forever! Just some suggestions: Please make a yellow "utility" version like construction or etc... Maybe a female version as well. I get that Blade Runner, Chappie or Ghost in the Shell giddy feeling with this mod! Perfect with Zabb's Enforcers!

I looked at the assets via the compatibility data set which is FREE on Steam Workshop and it is OK. The weapon sounds are in dire need of improvement relative to standard ARMA 3, CUP, GM or even CWR sounds (comparing cold war period mods and content). There is a JSRS compatibility mod that greatly improves it on Steam Work Shop already. The terrain is beautiful though from all the videos I have seen. Most of the buildings are open, but could still use some improvements like re-using the opened and improved Livonia buildings (hospital with all floors opened for example) with new textures to fit the terrain, the CONTACT buildings are free to use and already loaded with ARMA 3. Even CUP terrains have started to migrate the buildings to the Livonia ones. I think a mod that swaps buildings can be used here. I have not played it yet so am waiting for all the bug fixes before buying, but I will eventually. Someone with TPW mod and this cDLC should comment about AI pathing since the mod can dynamical spawn environmental AI and animals for ambiance. If someone created a CWR compatible ESCAPe mission pack across CRW, CUP, GM and CSLA terrains, I would be all over it. Even if I have to play it hosted mode myself.

@Jove Chiere So do you think we can get really GOOD FSR performance by keeping texture quality at ULTRA and letting FSR scale the geometry details to enhance it? I think this would be a great option for people looking for high FPS. Can you try this with FSR to compare the overall "quality"? ULTRA textures, and compare ULTRA objects and terrain details to STANDARD objects and terrain for example? I wonder will FSR do a good enough job so it is close to 90%. I know in DayZ SA, this is kinda needed as it is a competitive PVPVE game. In ARMA, it really depends on the game type - SP, COOP, MP or PVPVE. I think KOTH, Battle Royale and other PVP type mods really needs to keep the FPS higher than COOP for example. I know my K/D goes up along with FPS with a good under 100 ms connection to a server. If my connection is way over 200, 300+, it really doesn't matter as much anymore due to ballistics latency. -

I was playing with image scaling on my 1060 GTX. If I set objects, textures and terrain to LOW, I get crazy 60-80 FPS even with 3800 objects and draw distance but smudge low res textures. If I set textures to ULTRA, it looks "really" good with bad trees due to low objects settings. I wonder if using this with textures at high and objects at standard or high would maintain the same performance levels? At full ULTRA everything, I get 30-40 FPS which is not bad with no AI. It tanks on Tanoa, Livonia and Cam Lao Nam a bit but other terrains including CUP looks great. -
Hey guys, I was looking for some info mainly about how Contact fits into the ARMAverse timeline and could not find it. Also, please without any disrespect, about the ahem "resistance" campaign for OPF unofficially fitting into the timeline. I could not find an un-canon timeline. If anyone can advise, that would be great.

I am testing this now so I had a question, does it detect archives only or can it scan installed mods in subdirs such as those @xxx directories? I have some files installed as mods only, I deleted the zips, rars or 7z... I am ok for it to scan my game dir and rezip it then upload but have no idea if the app can do it. I have a decent line here, be happy to host torrents for the community when my PC is free. -
I have to ask... you got my blood pumping again. Any chance, to port the older episodes of Conspiracies to ARMA 3? Or offer it for d/l again? ARMAholic is GONE... everything is gone... Just asking to play through the series again before this masterpiece drops on us. I still have OPF, ARMA 1, ARMA 2 CO installed just to go back in time to these favorites...

Yes, I want an open survival alien apocalypse for ARMA since why not? It would have more intelligent adversaries than zombies and go back to the original ARMA 3 - X-Com type story before the old school ARMA community voted it down. It can be a DLC and I would buy it. Zombies can still be part of the storyline as some alien viral weapon unleashed but it got tired and decided to intervene to push up their objective schedule. Would be way more difficult on a persistence server to survive an ongoing alien occupation while fending off PVPVE!

I was talking about DayZ SA. There is / was NO basebuilding in DayZ mod, unless it was modded. So when you base up, loot for materials, repeat ad nauseum, you need at least stamina OFF so you can do your W runs or have auto run enabled. If PVP only, no base building, autorun is optional.

Autorun needs stamina OFF. No way it works without it. It is good for FAST pace missions and yes, it has its uses on a DayZ server for loot runs due to long travel times. If there are no cars, autorun is a must. If there are base building, autorun is a must. If there are traders and trading, autorun is a must. If there are looting, autorun is a must. If the whole point is to complete a mission with an ending, autorun is a maybe. Some testing for missions with a long delayed stamina, such as 15-20x as SLOW might be a good balance. In DayZ, you can autorun via mods, but when you AIM with hold breath, stamina starts to drop in standing mode. Stamina depletes slower in kneeling and even slower in prone shooting stance. Something like this might be a better balance for Ravage.

Try this: Run STEAM Run ARMA 3 Launcher Click on PARAMETERS Click on ALL PARAMETERS Under PLATFORM make sure the selection is SET to 64-bit, not 32-bit as it will restrict the game to 4GB of memory only and it can crash with mods. Then run your game. If you are still crashing, put up a FAN next to your PC but OC or overheat errors are usually 0xC0000....101 errors or GPU overheat error with a 124 at the end. -

Hope it fixes it for you. Worst case, run a CAT5E cable from your router to your location with the game PC. CAT5E supports up to 1 Gbps before you need a 10Gbps cable. Don't go cheap on this to reduce your latency as much as possible inside your home. It should be about 10 - 12 USD or Euros for about 10-15 meters.
