Hi TPW, I think I did not clarify my request. I actually do NOT want full armor battles. I cannot get skirmish to spawn this vehicle (the silver triangle with circle on top) because it is set as a TANK/ARMOUR in the EXT mod instead of a CAR: I can spawn the space guys as OpFor but they roll into battle with CSAT vehicles and it would be better to have SKIRMISH spawn those "Tripods" instead. The classname is actually SAB_EXT_TANK and SAB_EXT_TANK2 but it doesn't work in TPW_MOD if I list those exact names or "SAB_EXT_" under opfor_vehicles. I can manually put it into the game via Eden but then once I clear one, no new one would spawn. Only CSAT vehicles. The mod probably needs it config.cpp updated but I was hoping you may have a fix to allow it to spawn even if it is classified as a TANK.- 5767 replies

Hi TPW, Great work keep it up. Now on to some findings - under skirmish if I set an enemy vehicle reference for OpFor, it does not show up. I am unsure if the script only allows CARS? The specific item is actually a TANK as defined by the original mod and I can use it with the game editor EDEN. Is it possible to specify TANK or ARMOR in a future update such as MOD_TANKxxx where the xxx are variable for tank, tank2 for example? Actual setting: tpw_skirmish_enemyvehiclestring = "sab_EXT_"; From Sabre's EXT Mod Also, would it be possible to specify OpFOR air units including helis and planes? While enable CAS for NATO side, I noticed it can actually crush OpFor fairly hard. It would be good to equalize it bit or at least throw in an enemy interceptor there to counter balance it. Lastly, related to CIV blacklist, would love to have a CARS and PARK blacklist to allow more cars into the mod while keeping it manageable. the ga I added some cars from Jonzie's Mega Car Mod and I3lueVein Wheels manually but it would crash if I also load up RDS Civilian pack. If I can black list some of the cars, it can work without overloading the game. Jonzie's pack prefix with Jonzie_ and BlueVein's with bv_. I noticed your code allows it choose from all the cars eventually, but having the car blacklist help keep the cars count down and only allow a few cars. I also did the same for PARK which allows a wider car variety at the expense of RAM. Again, adding Jonzie and BlueVein's car pack WITH a blacklist can help keep it more manageable then allow ALL the cars in all packs to eventually spawn. I'm currently playing, ahem... testing UNS Halo Marines with Nato vs Extra Terrestrials by mixing CSAT Vipers and EXT mod similar to the TV Series Falling Skies. Its the closest way I can play XCOM in ARMA until Bad Benson ports his Alienz mod or others step in.- 5767 replies

Update - When I click on INSTALL on STEAM , it tells me I need 15 GB to reinstall, which I don't have on the SSD. Grr.. I also deleted all the files from the STEAM folder, except steam.exe, and no go. Did not recognize ARMA 3. So eventually, I deleted a bunch of stuff, and then STEAM proceeds to validate the current install and patch it up to 1.63x in DEV. Tooks about 2 hours for some reason and now at least I get to play in Tanoa again. Thanks for all of your help. The next to do is buy a much larger SSD.

Hi guys, I need help as this has occurred before and I have no idea why. I restarted my system and it boots into Windows fine. I then update a few mods from Armaholic then load Steam. Upon loading, it shows that ARMA 3 is NOT installed. ARMA 2 CO for example is installed. I checked and all files are STILL on the SSD. It is annoying because STEAM takes up 2x-3x of the actual file space to reinstall and my SSD is small and nearly full. I have to somehow delete a bunch of stuff just to have STEAM redetect whatever is already installed!!! Any idea how I can force steam to "validate" the files are already on the SSD instead of deleting ARMA 3 and reinstalling it? Thanks!

How much would you recommend the Apex Expansion?

If you even like ARMA, you should buy this at least for the MAP and new terrain assets. It is a complete joy just for me to load up an AI and have him drive me around Tanoa Sightseeing. Load up TPW_MOD for added non-conflict immersion. Desktop Vacation anyone? It really took the edge out of a long hard work day. Seriously beautiful. Everything else is a plus especially the new CSAT units to me. It felt like I just dropped into the next Hollywood movie seeing those Vipers. I love everything about it and wish only for more of it. Yes, the CTRG and BluFor side needs some better QC to bring it up the quality to match the CSAT units, but it is a lot of fun seeing all the new camo gear. And I cannot wait for the new campaign with Island Narco-Terror-Drug Dealing type adversaries. It is really hard to advise people to buy things so BIS has gracefully allowed every ARMA 3 owner to test the expansion before buying. Unheard of in the games industry where you get a lot less from other's DLC content! I'm one of the first Alpha demo buyers back then and that is just crazy to test a full on expansion for FREE. I bought Apex just based on beta testing pictures alone because we know how BIS works. If they deliver, they really do it in spades despite any growing pains and they support us for a long time when other companies have dropped support for current games and are already working on version 2, 3, 4 and 5s of their franchises. Just switch to the dev branch and test drive it like the good days of shareware and the decide. As a wise man once said "The Journey is the Reward." Don't miss out while you can still test for FREE. -

Isn't the whole point of C+ that it is basically a post zombie apocalypse version of Chernarus with upgraded and opened buildings, additional buildings to certain areas and debris (bodies, dead cars, objects and etc...) yet the terrain itself is the same? Instead of asking to pay more money for the same map AGAIN which is now available via CUP and which all A2CO and DayZ owners already own, wouldn't it make more sense for Bohemia to create, license and port an additional content pack and let the CUP team create a C+ version using those assets? It would be like a winter or summer or zombie or plus version with additional content removed, replaced or added to the map to make it more detail, yet not require everyone to re-download or install technically the same map again, eating up additional HD space. One thing I want to see is a patch to open up all the default OpFP/A1/A2/A3 buildings in CUP and then added in some furnishings to those buildings! That would be a good start to make all the OpFP/A1/A2/A3 terrains looks more immersive already. While I would like to see the VBS river system in ARMA 3, we know its not going to happen so forget it. Removed ponds is good enough for me at the moment. Maybe create a patch similar to the VBS procedural generation for outside of the map boundaries so it looks good at the map border instead of a lowres flat plains texture. -

Curious if you can simply use the RHS armor and gear, and INHERIT the CUP, Default ARMA 3 values so the game is relatively ballistically similar? I understand why everyone wants to use the RHS gear. It is really TOP NOTCH quality and that is not saying CUP or Massi is not good either, but RHS really stands out quality wise. -

I don't think ANYONE here minds having to load RHS to play the old campaigns in ARMA 3. I had a great time when it was sorta working with .kju's All in Arma - really wish it was still worked on, bugs and all. I just wonder how you will port the Namalsk Corporation and Nightstalker's factions? You can use Zee's Female mod and just make the face and hair using the already made female body I guess.Would be amazing to see in the ARMA 3 engine.

Look great. I was wondering can you make a commander variation like the "Red Hats" from the TV Series Colony: It would add a splash of colors but not too overbearing. I believe they are wearing Scorpion Urban Camo in the shots above. In the TV Series, the Red Hats are a paramilitary police force employed by the Alien Occupiers to keep the local population in check. Yes they operate a bit like the Gestapo but I thought their colors would look great on your mod. -
Arma X Anniversary Edition. Worth it for someone who's never played A1 or 2?

I just recommend you only buy ARMA 2 Combined Arms Complete collection: http://store.steampowered.com/app/33900/ Then download CWR2 mod for Arma 2 Combined Arms to play Operation Flashpoint in the ARMA 2 engine. Also get the RED HAMMER campaign addon for CRW2 here so you can play the Operation Flashpoint Red Hammer addon in ARMA 2. Then download ARMA Rearmed mod for Arma 2 Combined Arms to play ARMA 1 in Arma 2 engine. Basically, you can play all 3 game under the ARMA 2 engine. After you're done, buy ARMA 3 WITH APEX. You can buy or skip the DLC content unless you are hardcore sniper or helipilot gamer. That is the best Value. If you really just want to run the older games for nostalgia, you can. I recommend getting the Anniversary Edition when its on sale then but I will be honest, unless you really want to play some old Operation Flash point or ARMA 1 mods, I doubt you will load it. I do have the full kit and do load up one of those obscure and never ported mods over to ARMA 2 or ARMA 3 though. -

For SSD, 250 GB is a must only because of all the mods you will add on later especially terrain maps! Those need to be on the SSD as well. 500 GB or more would be preferred if you also have ARMA 2 installed with tons of mods or also play open world games like GTA. Also, I wanted to advise fellow ARMA players about this website for guaranteed OC cpus! Wish I found it before I built my current system. The 6600K @ 4.7 GHZ is the same price as retail!! I am not affiliated with these guys whatsoever. I found the link at Guru3D and thought ARMA players would probably be one of the few gamers that will benefit more here than upgrading GPUs. Remember to buy the fastest RAM with the lowest CL rating you can afford. It will make a difference for ARMA 3. -
I have never seen this when I switch ON and OFF CFX with my AMD 6950s. Totally weird. DEV Branch or Stable Branch?

I tend to agree with Strelok's comments about the buildings not looking right. It did bother me when I loaded up some old A2 maps with CUP but I was not sure if it was CUP or the original map models since not loading CUP would show no buildings in ARMA 3. As for Strelok's rudeness, I would cut him some slack. It is obvious he is not a native English speaker and new to the forum. We should correct him and give him the chance to improve. In my line of work, I meet people from all over the world who are also non-native English speakers. They tend to be a tad more blunt mostly for the fact that they may not know the correct or more polite form of the words to be used. When corrected, most (all so far) are quite appreciative about this as they learned and will improve. I'm sure it would be the same the other way around if native English speakers tried to speak Russian or Romanian. We will blurt out an impolite or more blunt word once in a while to get a point across. Everytime I see beautiful Romanian girls, I blurt out all kinds of non-polite words too. :P If he continues to be belligerent, then of course look to the banhammer. :D -
Dunno if it is good or sad but this mod has taken over my default CTRG for Tanoa! Can you make a replacement config when this mod is complete as well? :D Just amazing work for all your mods.

+1 Anyway for Zip or 7z patch? I and many didn't download CUP Terrains due to all the problems on Steam Workshop. If we switch over to Steam now, we still would need to re-download the full contents unless someone with the steam version can advise how to move and rename the folders over to the !Workshop folder correctly. Edit - any chance for a list of house that are ENTERABLE so we can use TPW_MOD to light em up during the night? -
Looks great! Can you update the Vipers to your CSAT camos later? Right now they don't blend well in Altis or Stratis - needs a good urban camo.

Clear Tactical Gun Shield for ARMA 3 rifles similar to the new Rainbow 6 DLC: It can be an addon to any rifles with Joint Rails support. -
Would you consider donating it to the CUP team so they can expand it to the regular CUP rollouts for A2 map compatibility? They can keep a normal version and your original textured versions. Would be great to share it with the rest of the community.
