Hi hate to bump this thread but can one of the authors review the mission packs as it seems there are compatibility issues with the newest build of ARMA? Would love for the community to support these missions again seeing how well escape is doing on Vanilla ARMA 3. Would love to play with a group of survivors trying to return back to Civilization! :D

CTD Forces Full Steam Re-Download + Mods
Valken replied to froggyluv's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hi Froggy, This happened to me a few days ago... No idea. Steam CS could not help me. I suggest you move or rename the mod workshop folder then try to validate ARMA if possible. I am literally reinstalling all my mods now... 600+ GB... eepp... been 2 days and counting... Its a steam issue not BIS but I don't know the solution other than to reinstall...everything... sigh....- 3 replies

Steam broke my ARMA 3 just now (says not installed, but it is) and I had to reinstall the game. No issues. Steam WIPED ALL of my workshop mods off the SSD! over 600 GB... almost had a heart attack!!! Steam is trying to reinstall mods... waiting... ARMA 3 Launcher still has bug that it cannot see / list some of the mods that I had already subscribed too - RHS and CUP for example. I checked my profile on STEAM and it says I have subscribed to 4941 entries (mods + missions)... I don't want to unsubscribe all as I cannot export a subscribed mods to a list from Steam Client or Workshop via browser. Arma 3 Launcher can export but it only shows ~ 300 out of 4941 mods... sigh... Both Steam Client and Internet Browser logged into Steam does show all subscribed mods... Any idea? Oh Great Wizard, are you back yet?!

Will-my-pc-run-Arma3? What cpu/gpu to get? What settings? What system specifications?
Valken replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
@Groove_C I took your advice and reset my system to 4.6GHZ/4.0GHZ Cache/DDR3-2400CL10 The last run was on my custom Ultra setting - 3800/3800 distance and models with CMAA, no SMAA, no blur. It is almost the same as before vs lower CPU + higher DDR speeds. The good thing is I beat the: 7700K@5GHZ - 50 FPS avg. DDR4 2400 MHz CL11 4790K@4.6GHZ - 58.5 FPS avg DDR3-2400MHZ CL10 I want to try to OC the cpu further but my cooling is not that great so am happy with what I have. I have no idea how to stabilize OC the cache so left it at 4.0 GHZ. PS: the low - S preset is setting LOW in video, then pressing S before benchmark start. It creates a weird hybrid LOW - STANDARD setting but its there for reference. Everything else was set only via the video preset, no mods, all stock. Edit - GPU OC has NEGATIVE EFFECT on LOW + STANDARD. GPU OC + 9% @ Ultra - makes sense. -
Will-my-pc-run-Arma3? What cpu/gpu to get? What settings? What system specifications?
Valken replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
@Groove_C I double checked my settings and it WAS set to DDR1333 in the BIOS! Slaps forehead! It must have reset during of the hot summers days! Thank your for pointing out! I went back and tweaked my system, ran YAAB with no mods, 64 bit. i7-4790k CPU ~ 4.5 GHZ, Cache 41x, CPU Multi 46x 98MHZ bus speed due to OC RAM: G.Skill DDR3-2540 MHZ CL10 OC'ed, 32GB!!! 1.65 volts stock. 1060 3GB GTX - I know, its only a temp GPU... I was looking for a 580 when I bought this but my country was sold out!!! So I will consider buying a better GPU in the future for 4K or more. Stock voltages for everything, no voltage OC, balanced settings - same as performance actually so left it to save energy when PC idles. The only thing I turned off in Ultra was the blur and SMAA to CMAA: Much better! At least 10 FPS gain on almost every setting. I will do some online testing now. Only issue is that I need to keep a FAN on top of the RAM Heatsinks to keep it cooler but that is much more economical compared to a new MB/CPU/RAM upgrade! -
Will-my-pc-run-Arma3? What cpu/gpu to get? What settings? What system specifications?
Valken replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
@Groove_C I did the same tests for fun with a 1060 GTX, 4790K, 32 GB CL10 DDR2400 RAM and I get ~ 45-48 FPS on LOW and 23-26 FPS ULTRA average on YAAB. So there are some GPU scaling vs Ryzen with Vega 64 as there is Ryzen is equal or greater than Haswell in IPC. But online, I get 45-60 FPS Ultra as all the AI has been shifted to server CPU. If I disable AI or just load a map and walk around, no mods, I get well over 60 FPS. But as soon as I load ACE or other mods with a lot of scripting, it dropped. For fun, I was testing zombie mods - loaded ALL of them and wanted to see how each Zombie unit type compared and I was was running between 100-200 zombies at once in VR with no problems once the AI cached. I wonder if users can just copy and paste that optimization into each game script or just make a blanket mod to redirect the eventhandlers to improve cpu performance? Sorry for going OT. -
ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread
Valken replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I'm looking for a previous mod and cannot remember the name but it was basically a zombie or alien type head mod with model of a leech's open mouth for a face. It had 2 eye stalks or antennas, was a bit low poly but looked creepy. Can anyone point me to this if they remember? It may be 2 years or older. -

Hi All, Just wondering is a there pinned list of missions so we can sort the type of experience in RAVAGE? I'm looking for more SP/COOP escape than survival for as long as possible type missions. Also there are few if any RAVAGE servers other than adding zombie elements to Exile for example. Not really what I'm looking for as I prefer objective based games but look forward to anyone's suggestion. Would be fantastic to Ravage-fy the ESCAPE mission series by NeoArmmageddon on Eseeker, Namalks or Chernarus Redux type maps! Edit - I did/am looking on STEAM WORKSHOP and its brutal to sort through it... I wish there was a curator function for each game's workshop, like how steam allows curators to sort games such as horror - my favorite game type.

Valken replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
@TankbusterI am running my system as optimized as possible: i7-4790K G.skill TridentX 32GB DDR3 2400 MHZ CL10 RAM 1060 GTX 3GB SSD for ARMA 3 and OS only I believe my RAM latency is already pretty good but I could try to tweak it down to CL9... not sure where to find such a guide. I supposed for us we can get the fabled i7-5775c to keep us updated unti ARMA 4 or lower settings to keep up. But for sure, those *lake cpus with FAST ram OC'ed looks great on ARMA though. -
TPW MODS: enhanced realism and immersion for Arma 3 SP.
Valken replied to tpw's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I am unsure about this because ACE also has an AI module that may have disabled that. But I personally use ACE, TPW and C2 - Command and Control mod to tell my SQUAD to heal my team or myself: Its a more advance version of what you are asking for, AI control, and suits my needs perfectly in SP to prevent the AI from going on its own. Lastly, ACE3 is modular. You can actually remove bits and pieces of functions you do not want and keep the functionality you may want just by moving or keeping the PBO files in the folder. You need to read through all the ACE documentation yourself due to all of the variations possible. I suggest you try to move and backup the ACE_AI.PBO to see if that may give you what you are looking for.- 5767 replies

Will-my-pc-run-Arma3? What cpu/gpu to get? What settings? What system specifications?
Valken replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
@Groove_CNice... do you have a graph where all the CPUs were OC'ed to their max then compared? I suspect even the 9600K - 6/6 cpu would equal the 9900k at the same clock speed. That is more telling for ARMA 3 users. My 4970K feels "slow" compared to those CPU now! :D I did test DayZ SA during the free weekend... Loved the enfusion engine and Chernarus in that version but the game was lacking substance since there was no objective other than to stay alive as possible. I can't wait for Enfusion to come to ARMA 4 for a deeper experience. Would be great to see DayZ SA performance compared in the same way for reference. -
Congrats on your new ARMA system. It is always a goal for us ARMAholics to fine more performance especially when AI are concerned. First, ARMA is MOSTLY impacted by AI as it is mostly single threaded. Thus you should... could try to OC your cpu as much as possible while being stable. I think your CPU turbos a single core up to 4.7 GHZ. If you have an aftermarket water cooler, you may be able to get up to 5 GHZ on more than 1 core. I suggest at least 2 cores OC'ed to the max for ARMA. The rest are not that important. Second would be tighten up your RAM timings to improve latency if possible and / or increase the RAM speed with the tightest timing you can. Its a balance issue but it affects ARMA cpu and AI performance as well. Again make sure both your CPU and RAM settings are stable. No point in crashing out your computer. Your SSD is good to go. Just keep ARMA and mods only on it. You need it to load in models, textures and data as ARMA constantly streams content into the system when RAM and VRAM runs out. Don't worry too much about maxing out your RAM or VRAM. That is what its for - to hold as much data as you need. The SSD helps to swap in content when you run out but if your system is stuttering, then its time to drop down some settings. Close all background apps if you don't need it running while gaming. I think your CPU has enough cores and is fast enough to keep apps opened or minimized but it helps to free up RAM on your system. For SP, I max out everything on Ultra @ 1080p @ 4000 distance and objects even on a 1060 3GB GTX - was waiting for AMD Vega but that did not deliver so stuck here. ~ 30 -45 FPS until AI kicks in and drops further. For MP on a server handling the AI, I drop the shadows, clouds and water shader to STANDARD and I get nearly 50-60 FPS most of the time. On Tanoa it drops to 45 but is silky smooth with Vsync OFF. You can play with your settings and note the FPS with and without AI.

I've had this problem on and off for a LONG TIME. Did you ever DELETE a mod before unsubscribing to it? If you did, resubscribe to it, let it download then unsubscribe. It may fix the issue. It has to do with mods removed from the Steam Workshop by the authors without warning before the user could unsubscribe and it created an infinite update mod vs mod is blocked but still exists on user HD loop. You can check by: login to Steam goto ARMA 3 workshop on the middle right, under your profile that state Your Workshop Files, click in the YOUR FILES drop down and select subscribed mods. Check each mod to make sure its still the workshop... I know, tedious... if you find a mod that is no longer there, BACK IT UP to another folder, then CONSIDER to unsubscribe to it... or GOTO your STEAM folder, OEPN LOGS folder OPEN the WORKSHOP_LOG.TXT file look for lines with ACCESS DENIED such as from my logs: [AppID 107410] Get details for item 810406203 failed : Access Denied Then you need to find the mod listed under the folder number - in above case 810406203 - MAKE A COPY and BACKUP if you want to keep it, then unsubscribe it from your lists of subscribed mods. After you've done this for all mods, it should clear the problem. Or wait a day for the Steam server to kick back in and skip the updating. Steam had set my account and should have globally done this for ARMA Workshop users to automatically SKIP updating author hidden / blocked or removed workshop mods so we don't have to go through the above step. You can email STEAM Customer Support about it via the STEAM client to check.

TPW MODS: enhanced realism and immersion for Arma 3 SP.

In the OPTIONS settings for ACE Medical, you can DISABLE from BASIC or ADVANCED medical model (thus using basic ARMA) and ENABLE REVIVE for both AI and player. This will give you what you are asking for. Try it.- 5767 replies

Wow, amazing, and can't wait to see this in-game on a server! Fab work! -
We're you loading some old mods? Does it crash without mods? The only other thing I can think of is running out of RAM or HD SWAP space. You may need to reboot your PC then load up ARMA. RAM fragmentation can be an issue.

Steam Workshop nonstop downloading and verifying mods
Valken replied to Valken's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Bumping this again because the Arma 3 Launcher client is still NOT creating symbolic links for some old and newly subscribed mods and / or populating the launcher with the correct mod names with the Steam Workshop Icon. It appears to be some kind of limit on the launcher or the launcher is NOT syncing back to the Steam Workshop Backend for some reason. Funny that it lists the mods when watching the 107410 folder - so long as the mod.cpp file is in each mod folder. The only temporary fix is to point the launcher to manually watch the ""Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\107410\" folder to list the mods. Its annoying but the only working solution. BIS_Wizard was and did work on fixing this, but it appears he/she has been missing in action since June or July?! Do we need to setup a rescue team? Hope someone from BIS can look into this!!! -

[Release] Vehicle Appearance Manager
Valken replied to UNIT_normal's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Yes I meant ACE Interaction. Would be cool for ACE users to goto a vehicle and one option would be to change its appearance right there instead of going into ACE or BIS Arsenal to spawn and setup the vehicle. Just being allowed to add the cages and foliage to the armored vehicles right there in game would be more immersive. Thank you for looking into it.
