I'm going to err on caution and ask WHAT is NOT clean? Everyone is innocent until proven otherwise. If they have a few models ripped, then that is right to remove it. But if there are original content, those should be left alone if the rest of the mods are the "clean" under the established rules. Blanket bans by association such as those to this mod are ongoing signs of bad moderation or lack of attention. Both also needs addressing. If you do not know or unsure, do not do it. -

I hope KA team can offer a clean version of their mods without other content. I get the ARMA community wants to keep its head out of the water, but Steam Workshop even for other mods are notorious and get away with a lot of "stuff". -

I am sure there are more missing mods. Seems KICKASS and team were targeted. Sad as his gear was awesome. If you guys find any other mods, maybe we can share a list to back it up for those interested for personal use. -

Such a beautiful aircraft. I hope Escape servers would allow this plane to be on the ground or available for highjacking during game play. Can someone make an ACROBATIC version or RACE livery versions? Would be great for Tanoa, Altis, Chernarus CUP or large map AIR RACE game style with other prop planes! -

Playing the new escape missions on Outkast and is there a reason why the loading times are so long once you enter the server? It is like a good 30 seconds before the screen comes on once the game as started. This occurs even joining in the middle of the game. Totally sitting duck in such instances. Or is immunity enabled for a few seconds?

Now I want to see at least 5600X with the same GPU over ARMA 3. The review says 5600X + 6900XT is FASTER than with 3090 for CPU limited games!!! It is too bad AMD 6x00XT series has worst RT otherwise I would all over it for future proofing! I wonder if the best buy would actually be an AMD 5x00 series with 4 cores and the money into an AMD 6900XT?! -

Yes. this CPU might be worth considering since single core turbo is 5.3 GHZ at stock settings. Let us see how fast we can push the RAM with all core turbo then decide! -

@Groove_CI am not disagreeing with you, but Anandtech measured at STOCK BIOS settings, so that review is fair to maybe 85% of the users out there who just plug the CPU in and run it. I know the 11700K can turbo 1 core to 5 GHZ, so we are waiting for a review of ALL CORE @ MAX TURBO. Personally I am waiting for Hardware Unbox to do the review as they are one of the few who did ARMA 3 benchmarks. -

The current performance numbers from Anandtech are showing it is slower than 5800X and nearly on par with 10700K in the same games. Their F1 benchmark shows the 5800X is way faster, CPU wise. That matters to us ARMA players. I will wait for a full review in before I buy. I held out so long in any case. -

HIGHER CORE TO CORE latency than previous 10700K series: Not good... Peak Power usage: This will matter during gaming in the Summer months, like upcoming in next 3 months! Intel 10700K is cheaper, AMD 5800X is faster and 11700K is HOT HOT HOT is the conclusion. -

I was re-watching Mad Max Road Warrior and in one scene, one of the survivors dropped a snake on the enemy gangs. So can someone make a mod where the player can throw a snake at the AI or another player that is poisonous? Model exists already... Can use the medikit as a cure or hunt down another snake to create anti-venom? I think this would be cool for Ravage. A snake trap would be awesome. -
Yes you can. I did it with a mobile phone and Trinus VR app. Enable head tracking, using KB and mouse... wow... It is exactly how I want to play ARMA but if you can, get a real wide screen VR goggles. But the mobile phone splits a single wide screen into 2x SQUARE screens so you lose the side views or get a weird aspect ratio.

The power consumption is crazy on the Intel though. Is it being consumed by the motherboard? I wonder how well it can sustain those turbo clocks across all cores. I think AMD and Intel are on par now in terms of motherboard quality. -

You can try to ADD dkvk to convert DirectX 9 to OpenGL for more speed, not sure if possible. https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases Just copy the d3d9.dll into the same folder as d3d8.dll. It will pass from Direct X 8 to 9, from Direct X 9 to Vulkan. I tried it in Arma 3 single player, much smoother and give it a minute to create the shader cache folder, so give it a shot. But unsure if it is battleeye compatible so no MP games tested. -

I was going to upgrade to 5600X or 5800X here from the good old Haswell I7-4970K but thanks to scalpers, I had to put it off. Let's see if 2021 will bring mortal prices back inline or if Intel pulls a magic rabbit out with their short to live next gen system before DDR5 system hits the market at the end of this year. -

I understand this. Perhaps better for MP that we can have "fake" vertical levels where one "level"'s stairwell leading up or down would teleport the group of players to another "level's" stairwell which are actually just 2 completely seperate sections on the same horizontal plane, but cannot be seen by players inside of each section. Like multiple sheets of paper laid out on a big desk with each stair or doorway can be connected by teleporters. Then for each "level" randomly spawn in enemies and lock them to only move around on those sections. That may give the illusion of multiple "levels". Would need to make sure that any sign or decoration that says "Level X" match up correctly. 😄 I think this was how level designers do it to create new DOOM 1/2 levels as that does not allow placement of paths directly above another path. They just teleport to another level when going up or down instead of "exiting" and "loading" the next level. The Build Engine (Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior, Blood and Redneck Rampage) allowed floor over floor. Same for the Quake and newer engines like Half Life, Source and etc... Anyways, hope the old school techniques may give some inspiration. -

For ARMA 3, the CPU's IPC, frequency, and RAM's latency and frequency matters the most. The new AMD APU (CPU + GPU) chips are really good. Wait for the new 5000 series APU and check the IPC against whatever you are looking at now. The IPC of the AMD 5000 series CPU are amazing. The GPU inside the APU needs VERY fast RAM to run well. The 4000 series APU can OC the RAM up to 4800 MHZ (!!!!!!!) and it really improves the system performance. It will only get better with the AMD 5000 series APU. I have no idea on Intel but do not expect them to have comparable IPC on a laptop format until next year. Their power consumption is very high and matters for a portable device. If on a desktop, it won't matter. Whatever gets the most performance is more important. Any GPU above an Nvidia 1060 GTX would be good enough for 1080p Ultra performance. -

I love the new videos. I wanted to ask: Are the objects placable? Any chance for a random map generator so a run through will be different? Such as cutting sections into prefabricated blocks that can be stitched together? Any chance to go VERTICAL? Like (a lot) more than 1 level? I am seeing GTFO vibes from this. So amazing... -

Also RAM speed. I had a DDR3-1600 kit, still have it in a box, but once I upgraded to DDR3-2400CL10, I gained more minimum FPS. It runs very good now on SSD with a 1060 GTX. It matters to ARMA and some CPU intensive games more than a GPU upgrade, but that your friend has a good GPU. Just bad memory performance holding back the full potential of the CPU.
