.357? I was told that most modern infantry helmets had one shot protection against anything under 7.62x25mm, which isn't quite as effective as .357.

May I ask just how many of you are on devbranch? It's been somewhat toned down over here and works surprisingly well. A headshot is a headshot, except for 9mm which is stopped by a helmet on the first shot. .45ACP upwards is a kill.

So is it normal that Arma2 and Operation Arrowhead appear in my expansions menu as well as the map pack? I must admit that the patch has me slightly confuzzled.

Another way you can do this (and this one is useful because it can be used with any faction's units, even the same) is to spawn an enemy, give him the highest rank and make his spawn probability 0%. You then group him to the people you want as enemy, who'll ally themselves with him since he's a higher rank.

Can I ask about how the patch is supposed to be applied? There are two folders in the patch, @A3MP and A3MP_Patch, and I've copied both into the folder. When I start the game, ArmA2 and Operation Arrowhead pop up in my expansions menu. Have I done something wrong?

hi guys.i can't help but wonder every time i get in or out of a chopper, why is there an animation for the movement of the player opening the door and jumping out, but no animation for the door itself, resulting in the player going through the mesh!
Ah, you see, at one point in the beta there were opening and closing doors, but it's gone now. Apparently they're coming back, but we don't know when.

You can´t use freelook when looking through the scope/red dot sight (RMB)Actually, you can. Unless that scope is a 2D-style one like the ones on the SOS, LRPS, DMS, TMR scopes etc. you should be able to with TrackIR. Assuming you have TrackIR, of course.

Does anyone here even have DayZ? If so, can we know how it is implemented? I mean, it's kind of pointless to argue over something we don't even know anything about apart from the fact that it exists.

I do sure hope that these updates can come in a patch. I haven't exactly got the best internet and it would suck (to put it bluntly) to have to re-download all of this great mod.

From what I can tell they are not working on it officially, but any of them are free to work on it in their holiday time. I wouldn't get your hopes up though, everybody deserves a nice holiday, after all.

please realize there were 2 variants of slammer, the basic and the uparmored variant ...what was in the release is basic +- afaik ...
let say I do what i can (and let's not forget Zguba) on the uparmored one ...

I thought it had a manual option.Does it? I never saw that in any of the options. I guess I'll have to dig deeper into the depths of the ArmA controls.

I wish land vehicles had manual gear like Take On Helicopters has its realistic controls.You can actually set keybinds to change gears in the controls, even if it doesn't change much because (as far as I can tell) they change gears automatically.

I'm pretty sure that any form of hollow pointed bullets are illegal to use on the battlefield. However, the choice between AP and FMJ is more reasonable, as AP is not illegal and provides benefits that standard FMJ cannot. Plus, with the new armour system HP would be pretty poop, in all honesty.

The amount of smileys next to thoughts of killing and teabagging corpses (virtual, but still) has me slightly worried.

1. Yes, they break. You can even throw grenades into them, but that takes some practice to get right.
2. They are just extra stances in between the old ones, there isn't any Raven Shield-style stance adjustment. However, as with Arma 2 if you have TrackIR or rudders you can leaning with more flexibility as opposed to the not leaning/leaning completely that you get with the controls.

Most probably it's their hardware. There are too many server hosters out there that use a backup PC made of fossils and sticklebricks, which suffers when running ArmA 3.
