Arma 3 , project the cave
13islucky replied to thebuckfastwine's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Great! Time for me to think up how to make The Descent machinima using this. -

Have you considered making these uniforms armpatch-compatible (like the default ones in devbranch) once the update hits stable (if we know how to)? -

Really? I managed to go off road (after I got lost) and didn't get a mission fail. Did you try on the latest version? -

Bootcamp / VR Discussion (dev branch)

Well, finished this real quick yesterday, only stumbled upon one problem so far. When you're marking things on the map, there's a part where Adams says that they are close to a hill with a chapel bearing 310 (I think). It took me a while to realize that he wanted me to mark the map. I just stood there looking for the 310 bearing and marking the buildings because it seemed like the thing to do. Pretty good job. Short and simple, with a fairly decent (and somewhat relevant) story and basically teaches you most of what you need to know. -
LAxemann's "Climb" - Enables basic climbing in ArmA 3

Because some (most?) of us prefer to have as little to do with the action menu as possible. Great job, by the way. Forgot to type it earlier. -
Is Arma 3 a reasonable replacement for Arma 2?
13islucky replied to DavidCastle's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I agree with what you say, but I'd like to say that this isn't true. In default ArmA 3 being shot in the legs affects you quite badly. Sometimes you get into a forced walk and can't run until you heal, and sometimes there seems to be no effect, which is a bit inconsistent. Not impossible, but inconsistent. Also, being shot in the arms also really increases sway, which I think is a pretty big penalty. -
Huh, had a backup of 335 on a hard drive and find this to be true, strangely. Running the relatively low end GT650M.

Ya, if you take away the gloves and the neck they look fairly normal with body armour. The LBVs just enhance the sci-fi look by showing the upper body with the extra protection and future-looking thangs.

Woot! Does that mean 3D magnified collimated optics that switch out?
-
What are your lauch parameters? Maybe it's one of those.

Just Three Very Indepth Suggestions and Feedback on Long Range Precision Marksmanship
13islucky replied to Emryse's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I think that's a nice proof of concept, but honestly I wouldn't play with scopes like that. Perhaps with more detailed and closer to the face scopes I would, but I fear for my frames. -
Maybe the gloves too... not sure how realistic they are (I see a little bit of space-age looking HSLD gear recently) but they most definitely stand out.
-
Erm, I don't think that the AAF can afford these things. CSAT probably prefers training soldiers by sending them to the local villages for target practice, seeing as they're evil-looking people/aliens.
-
Looks simple. Maybe a bit too simple? I don't know, I still welcome this as an improvement.

I've just had a thought. Since you're using custom magazines, is it possible to have the brass that stays on the ground like pistols have?

Am I the only one who thinks that Guerrilla Apparel looks proper baller? Looks like a mix between Sam Fisher and Iraqi Republican Guard. Also, what's with this "Respawn Camp" stuff? Also also, Dslyecxi (did I spell that right) now has Field Manual entries it seems. This Bootcamp stuff is starting to unravel for me.

What features are fundamental to the Marksman DLC? (no speculation)
13islucky replied to RushHour's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I think that you may have misunderstood me. Granted, that's because I'm stoopid enough not to notice that it's not in the multiplayer. I was not at all referring to the role selection screen, rather to the inventory screen in the briefing's (briefing in this case referring to the map screen with obj etc.) "Players" tab. I've just noticed it in the campaign and assumed that it was in multiplayer as well. Basically, when you click on your name, there's the option to change your gear. It then opens your inventory and you can select from a pool of stuff to bring (or not). Your idea looks a pretty good, hope some of it makes it through. -
Authentic Gameplay Modification
13islucky replied to koffeinflummi's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Any mod with weapons+Devbranch = no sounds Sounds are not being played due to the change in muzzle config. Weapons have to be updated to the new config for sounds to be played. This update is in prep for the Bootcamp DLC coming soon. -
crosshair, third person and zoom needs to be rookie difficulty
13islucky replied to defk0n_NL's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
That's it. Really, that's all you need. No need to restrict features or playstyles on the easier difficulties (which I still believe are about choice) and instead encourage people somehow to play on the harder difficulties. But how? -
Interesting that you can choose Voices for Brits, Yanks, Altians and Persians. I really wouldn't mind having these options in the profile to choose from.

13islucky replied to RushHour's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Well, this has gone slightly off topic by a lot. However, I shall make the revelation that Arma 3 already has a pre-mission loadout editor in the briefing stage. You can edit your inventory pre-mission from a limited pool of equipment and use that, however many missions don't seem to realize that you can do this, so they don't have it. It's in the Campaign if you want to try it out (and in Arma 2). -
recoil, weapon sway, fatigue whats happend?
13islucky replied to Sillywabbit's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
No sway for 30 seconds and you can hold an aim for days without any swaying whatsoever? I may be misunderstanding you, but holy shit that's amazing! +1, QFT -

13islucky replied to defk0n_NL's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Dispersion? If I recall correctly at one point the crosshairs represented sway. I thought that that wasn't a bad idea, but now I'm not sure if that ever existed or not. I'm really confused now. -
Fatigue Feedback (dev branch)
13islucky replied to solzenicyn's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
Perhaps not, but it seems sensible enough to know the base mass of most equipment and to be able to know approximately how much you carry in units of mass/weight.- 1935 replies
