Thanks. RL has been tough for most of the team. Perhaps some work to come, but I really can't promise anything. If anything is going to happen, it will certainly get posted here first.

@SonicJohnBH Thanks for the great rundown on things to work on. As you state, some we already know. I think we ought to be able to fix the chaff issue without much effort, but again I am not the guy who does the magic so please be patient on that. To keep everyone in the loop the members of the team who do the real work, have time to do the magic occasionally. Thanks again for all of the support and we will do our best to make the U/M/A-85 series better with your help.

Continuing to tweak as we can. We have fixed the issue with weapon load outs. We have implemented an ACE add on (optional) for those who want to use fast ropes in game. We have policed up some missing pieces here and there and have completely redone the Griffin missile.

We are aware of the problem and are actively working to fix that problem as well. The team has done some work over the last few days to work through some of the issues on our "to do" list. Work continues as time permits. For the latest update:
- This update provides better compatibility for valor with ACE mod
- Adds ACE fastroping compatibility to all transport versions of valor (currently only supports human pilot/pax for fastroping)
- Will include other ACE compatibility-related updates in the future- 1

A quick update. We seem to have the ability to do fast rope included, however it requires Ace and CBA. We think there is a bug in the VTOL aircraft in ARMA for some reason that is causing the inability to get out of the aircraft in some situations, but we are still investigating the issue and it is on the top of the list to resolve. Not sure when the next update is going to happen because the people who have a clue (i.e. scripters) have decided that summer is a good time to take vacation. *shrug*

We are working on some fixes. Soon there will be a fast rope option and some fixes to other issues that have been pointed out. Again these happen as the team has time to work on it.

@Rich_R, Your rational was for the right reasons. No need to apologize since I was certainly the stubborn one. Now with a number of Arma years under my belt, I agree with your rational at the time. Still, Thank You.
@Ripcord 1994 - Thanks for the kind words. MV-22/CV-22 does not have auto-flaps because the real aircraft does not currently have that option. This tilt-rotor has lessons learned from the earlier V-22.

There are four versions of the "UV-85 Omaha" (V-280 in game nomenclature) The basic UV-85 version is just the aircraft, no guns. There are two assault aircraft. One with M134s and one with .50cal Gatlings. The SOF version, MV-84, has M-134 x 2, 20mm nose cannon, DAGR rockets and 2 x Griffin missile (mini Hellfire). All of these are troop capable. Finally is the AV-85 attack version has all of the MV-85 ordnance but trades the troop compartment for ATGM capability.
As much as we would like to spend more time with the mod, we just don't have it. Any fixes that might happen will be infrequent if we decide we have to spend time on the project.
That said if anyone wants to work the mod (add fast rope, working refuel boom, seats out, etc.) I only ask that you share with everyone in the community in trying to improve the UV-85 Omaha.
Hope you have as much fun with it as we have.
I would highly recommend VTOL/FLAPS controls mod by Feint. It makes all of the VTOL in Arma much easier to fly.

As you might suspect from the lack of post this mod is not moving along. Real life has stepped in, and the team has hit a wall. The mod is about 80% done and is usable. There are three versions: UV-85 basic transport (really fast UH-60), MV-85 (Spec Ops version with nose cannon, DAGR, and Griffin (think mini-hellfire), and the AV-85 (all the AT capability of an ATK helicopter). Here in the near future we are letting it go on Steam.
It is my hope that one of the mod teams will find an interest and carry it on to completion. It really only need some of scripting policing. A few of the outstanding issues from the developer
- Art pass on the internals. Cockpit and a few areas of the cabin.
- Texturing update on a few weapons systems , Griffin mainly.
- Removal of some scripts that were used for experimentation.
To this I would add
- Fast rope anchor points
- mini-gun tweaks
Thanks for all the great support and I will advise when the mod is available on Steam.

Are you guys making the S-97 raider & the SB1 Defiant?
I saw that Sikorsky-Boeing had 3 different versions of this helicopter:
Raider X / SB1 Defiant / Attack Helicopter versions of the same air frame
I was just curious

Would love to do that, but given the time challenge just getting V-280 usable, I think those might be a long way away.

Hey folks, know there are many waiting for this mod. The very small team working this effort all have very demanding day jobs and families as well. We would love to put this out tomorrow, but the available time to work it just ain't there. It will be a while yet before we can put it on the street. Thanks for the patience.

@QuakeIVSorry for the delay on answering. Unfortunately, no. Because Arma VTOL are in the "plane" class of Arma, the AFM does not apply. One of the reasons for the length of time is that we have been working on the flight qualities to give the aircraft the flight qualities that the U.S. Army is asking for with the real aircraft.

USAir Force AFSOC uses them (U-28). Soit would be a nice addition to the Arma'verse in my opinion.

Yes the "V" tail we use is swept differently than those on the V-280 demonstrator. We used the tail section from the graphics and drawings of the V-280 as Bell expected the initial version of the aircraft to look like if fully developed for the military. it is very likely that the final version of the real aircraft will differ from the demonstrator and the version we picked if it is fully developed. As an example, compare the Lockheed/Martin JSF prototype to a USMC F-35C.

Work continues. Some great work on the textures and shadows and we have formation lights now.

The "door guns" are for the person on the bench. Intent is to give MH6 teams very close in roof top suppression capability. It is a 5.56 mini-mini-gun. That is what the vendor told me.

So things are slow, but since everyone wants WIPs...
This is the MAV-85 Omaha, Special Operations version of the V-280. It carries up to 12 Operators, and can be loaded with 12 DAGR, 2 Griffin missiles or 2 SDB, or 2 AGM-114. It has a 20mm turret (pilot or co-pilot) and two 7.62 mini-gun at crew stations. The 7.62 mini-gun of the crew are remote operated (CE and gunner) and able to auto-track targeting solutions.

Weight is king! When I flew Alpha's life was great because we did not have a lot of extra stuff and the infantry did not have lots of kit (not to mention I had been flying AH and UH-1). Then we started adding things to the aircraft and it started getting more challenging. Then we got Lima's and we got power back with the 701C. Then I graduated the Army so I cannot speak for the Mike's. I do know (think I posted before) that the MH-60 are running YT706 engines with way more power and they had to add extra steel to the roof of the aircraft for the increased torque and power. The whole ITEP engine program is to get a new engine that will give the H-60 and H-64 more power and fuel efficiency. Some real trivia for you; helicopters, like people, tend to gain weight as they get older. The average is about 100lbs a year.
