  1. Will this help the walrus to climb hills better?
  2. What things does the GripMod do? Sorry if you already said what it does on the forum. I probably just didn't see it. Will there be something on the screen to tell us that the mod is functioning? I want to try it out with another mod.
  3. Thank you. I'll give it a try.
  4. This has happened to me many times. My mantas would run out of their charges for their lasers and they would just hover over the enemy carrier or just fly around it. They wouldn't switch to rockets or missiles and I would have to launch them myself by taking control of the mantas manually.
  5. How do I get the GripMod? I can't find it. Can it be used with the retail version of Carrier Command or is it only for the Steam version?
  6. The changelog says "Improved Walruses from garages can be fitted with a weapon in the second slot (plasma, AA Gun etc.)." I was under the impression that this meant some enemy walruses would have two switchable weapons. If it doesn't mean that, then this wording has confused me. I can't say which way it is for certain because I haven't come across these walruses often.
  7. I don't mean to interrupt, but I believe this is true, at least for some enemy island walruses. Now that some enemy island walruses seem to have two weapons, I'm hoping that player walruses will soon be able to have weapons (or something) in slot 2, but I'm not relying on it.
  8. I have been playing with this mod for quite a while and it is fantastic. In my opinion, it is essential for the game because of the great features it adds and the user customization. Thanks, Species!
  9. On the carriercommand.com site, you can find a schematic of the walrus that has been there before the game was released. This schematic seems to show two weapon mounts. Here's the link, but I don't know if it will take you there because you have to verify your date of birth first. http://www.carriercommand.com/game/units/walrus/. Personally, I would like to be able to put a second weapon in slot 2 of the walrus. If that can't be done, at least something else could go there like an ammo box or a scanner. Either way, slot 2 of the walrus should be usable.
  10. Thank you for this, Harbinger. I noticed this too, but I thought BIS just forgot the link and would put it in sometime soon. I didn't think of the possibility of an error in the link. Thanks again.
  11. That's ok, hellR1de. The next thing i'd really like to see in the game is a use for the second slot in the walrus for the players. I've always greatly disliked seeing that empty second slot when something could have gone there. The manta has two weapons and the walrus can certainly use two weapons itself.
  12. First, I want to say that the comment I made about walrus pathfinding was for the strategy game only, not the campaign game. I also want to say that it seems that you are commenting on a post that I made last month (6/8/2013) in this thread, which is before the 1.06 patch was released. The comment I made was about the need to improve walrus pathfinding in the 1.05 version, not the 1.06 version. I did say it was improved, it just needed more improvement. It was further improved in the 1.06 patch and I think it's better. I still see the walrus slow down and speed up once in a while for no reason, but it's better than it was I think. If it was still bad, I think it should be dealt with before other things, but as I said, I think the walrus pathfinding has been improved and it might be good enough now. I have always believed that the walrus should not have perfect pathfinding when it is AI controlled from the carrier because AI control shouldn't be as good as player control.
  13. No problem. You mentioned something about modding "when the tools come out". What tools are they and when do they come out?
  14. Sounds good. Thanks for the reply!
  15. I agree about the need for improving the walrus AI. I get annoyed at watching my walrus continuously slow down and speed up when it is travelling on straight, level ground with no obstructions. I get annoyed when I see it constantly ram into certain objects instead of going around them. Another thing that annoys me is when I order a walrus to dock and it plots a stupid course that takes it away from the carrier. In spite of these annoyances, I would not prefer to have them go through solid objects (as a cheat) because this would not be realistic. I want as much realism in the game as possible. I think the best solution would be if BIS would improve the AI once and for all. It doesn't have to be perfect because when the player is not controlling a walrus, the carrier's computer (the friendly AI) is controlling it and I don't think that would control it perfectly anyway. I don't think it would control a walrus as good as a player. As I said, I agree that the walrus AI should be improved to be better than it is.
  16. There are several things I'd like to see eventually happen in the next patch. 1. I'd like to see a use for slot 2 on the walrus. New technology doesn’t need to be added to the walrus, although a shield like the manta has would be useful. Maybe some weapons that go into slot 1 can go into slot 2 instead or maybe certain items that go into slot 3 can go into slot 2 instead. 2. I'd like to see the carrier get a laser for its main turret. That should help against enemy mantas better than a shell gun or plasma cannon. The shell gun and plasma cannon can be kept, though. 3. The mouse lag has to be eliminated. 4. The pathfinding for both the walrus and the manta needs to be improved more. In my opinion, this was improved with previous patches, but it needs to be improved more. 5. The enemy's carrier and player's carrier are going through each other during battle. They should be completely solid and if they hit each other, they should cause damage to each other. 6. There should be a way to stop the carrier from firing at any target to avoid wasting ammo and to avoid accidentally destroying the command center on an enemy island, which actually happened in a game I played once. Even though I have listed several items in this post that I think should be added or fixed, I still like this game a lot and I play it often. Sorry if any of the items on my list were mentioned on this forum before. I believe these items on my list are important and worth mentioning again as a reminder if they were mentioned before.
  17. A very strange thing happened to me one time. I was in battle, and my lift gate got damaged while I was bringing a manta to the deck. Somehow my manta got stuck INSIDE the carrier and I could still fly that manta! I was actually able to fly my manta all around the inside of the carrier. I couldn't believe that could happen, but it did. I tried to dock a walrus and fly my manta out that way, but I couldn't do it. I timed it right, but there seemed to be some kind of invisible barrier that prevented my manta from leaving the inside of the carrier. I finally had no choice but to load a previously saved game. It was VERY strange.
  18. I have seen the lighting sometimes go very dark in the strategy game during part of the cutscene that comes up whenever I destroy the enemy carrier. I think the lighting also sometimes goes very dark in part of the background graphics of the main menu. I often see it if I wait long enough. Of course, I also have seen the lighting go very dark and very light during gameplay sometimes, too. I just wanted to mention I saw the problem in that cutscene and the background graphics of the main menu in case this would help in fixing this lighting problem during gameplay.

    Thanks, Dwarden.

    1.05 released.

I agree. I am one of the people who thinks this game is outstanding. I always did. It needs some more fixes, but it is really great even as it is. ---------- Post added at 08:18 ---------- Previous post was at 08:16 ---------- Thanks for your comment, Nifty.
  21. Sounds good. Thanks for everything that you do for the game.
  22. Hi Savant, thanks for your work on your mod. I use it with the deadlyislands mod. I think it was a good idea you had to make the gatling sound of the manta match the walrus. I also like the plasma cannon sound you used better than the original sound. Just out of curiosity, what other mods were you planning? Sorry about posting this so long after your post, but I just registered recently.
  23. So all I have to do is download the mod again now? Just out of curiosity, are there any other fixes or improvements to the game that you are currently planning to make in the future in your mod? Thanks!! By the way, I just noticed 2 private messages from you in my inbox. Sorry for not responding to them. I just saw them recently. I just sent a response today.
  24. Thank you very much for making the scout drone dockable. I like the method you chose to make it dockable. It's about as good as having a button. I have extracted V1.09 of your mod in my carrier command folder and i have tested the scout drone. It works great, however, I came across two problems that I wanted to bring to your attention. 1) My scout drone was hovering over an island. I had viewed the scout drone camera at least once. I left the island without docking the drone, but I didn't get the message saying that I was leaving the drone behind. 2) I was flying over an enemy island. I was looking through the scout drone camera and my drone was destroyed by enemy fire. The words "scout drone destroyed" appeared repeatedly onscreen and the voice over repeatedly said "destroyed". I changed to a walrus view and the voice stopped, but the words still kept coming on the screen. I switched to carrier view and the words stopped. I also have two questions about your mod. 1) There are three options in the user customization for enemy carrier respawn. If I want to disable this, do I have to select something for all three options or just the first option? 2) In the gui and layouts folders, there is a file I didn't notice before called optionsmenu.layout. What does this file do? I clicked on the options button in the main menu and the options screen looks the same as always. Again, thank you for making the scout drone dockable.
