  1. Hello all, I have a problem with a few of my building structures where the Lights in the building pass right through the flooring of my model. I have geometry on the floor underneath the roadway, but the cone of the light passes right through the floor making the room dark still. I have also used Arma 3's default lamps but still get the same issue. To help troubleshoot I made it so that there was only a floor geometry and no other geometry to disrupt the light path. I still believe it is a geometry problem but don't know where to look. Images of the problem: http://i.imgur.com/Csv5otE.jpg [Light here works fine as you can see] http://i.imgur.com/td5NscG.jpg [No light reflection on floor] http://i.imgur.com/5f4m0iR.jpg [You can see the light passing through geometry and res lod] Any constructive comments would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Matt.

    Model Error? - Building Structure

[solved] Ok I fixed the issue, apparently it was a bad texture. I removed every texture and tested the model. It worked and once it worked I just removed the texture I thought caused the issue and now it works fine.

    Model Error? - Building Structure

Yeah I definitely think it's in the 0 lod. I removed the other res lods; 1 and 2, and the same issue is occurring. I'll see if something is hidden and report back. [Added] By saying if something is hidden do you mean a hidden selection because I have unhid all selections.
  4. Hello all, I have made a building in Arma 3, based on a life mission (take away shop). It's pretty high poly, contains quite a few proxies. The proxies themselves load find as a whole but the main model itself is causing an issue which is about 13,000 faces. (Loads fine in buldozer) The issue is that when you go near the building the whole game just goes black and freezes making me have to go to task manager and end the process. To elaborate a bit more, you can see the building in arma 3, like the 2.0 3.0 resolution lod but as soon as you walk near it or zoom in upon it the above issue happens. Any ideas what the issue could be? Cheers, Matt. [update] I tried putting this model in ARMA 2 and it has no problems, it only does the issue in Arma 3. Hope that may help.
  5. Just like to bump this to make it more aware, and to see if anyone may have any clues to the issue.
  6. Since I'm on the move and not currently in a permanent house for more than 6 months. I have been using my $600 laptop. This laptop has an i5 @ 3ghz (turbo'd), an ATI HD6630M, and 4gb memory. I have the game settings on medium, and 1 setting is on low and I get 30 frames per second. Can't complain for a $600 laptop where I didn't have the intention for gaming lol.
  7. I understand that and have seen the video but with my structure the view goes through absolutely everything. You can see that the view zooms in as soon as you enter the room. But with mine, it just stays outside the building until you walk in far enough.
  8. Hello, I have been modding ARMA 2 when it was first released, and now that ARMA 3 alpha has come out I have decided to come back after a 2 year break from Modeling. Ok now to the topic. I am having the issue where if you're in the third person camera the player can look through the walls just by moving the view around, this is for all objects within the building as well as the structure itself. I thought that the geometry may be the cause of the issue, but I have looked at some BIS and my previous buildings and they all seem to have the same structure regarding to the geometry, all of the geomtry is closed. The geometry works flawlessly ingame, as well as my animations, it's just this viewing through the object in third person that's bugging me. Is there maybe a line in the config that I may be missing?
