  1. Well judging by what has happened to our Clans Edited version of our mission this sounds a very viable cause for a lot of our issues. It seems that anything that carries out a calculation based on counting items or constantly checking for sizes is causing total lock ups, and nearest objects is one of many used within our mission. We have tested on all types of Server, dedicated via a 3rd party, our own dedicated server (from my machine using a 3rd party program) and also via Arma3 and hosted on the net. All of these have the same issue of what seems to be a massive memory overload causing the players to desync and the server to stall. Whilst on my own dedi we carried out monitoring using a cpu usage and memory monitor, logging the amount of memory being used as best as we could, as each program loaded in to the memory. At a point of no return it showed that the server had locked visually, with ai running on the spot and the 3rd party server monitoring server just stopped. Although the player himself was still able to run freely. it was clear when entering vehicles there was a massive issue, as you were unable to get in and then some minutes later although you were technically doing something else, you would appear in the vehicle you had tried to get in. During this the server monitor would sometimes show a reading, but most of the time the gaps were between 5-10 minutes at a time, if and only if the server would be able to recover at best did it show a few readings then went back into the process of stalling again. After reading this post it does point to the thought of the mission being stuck in a loop looking or perhaps counting something with infinite results and a massive drain on process to the memory. The maximum memory allocation was seeming to be reach and then in a vain effort both the relative system would try to offload the actual Ram into the page file, but watching it clearly showed that it was in vain as the ram was writing more than it could shift to the page file, thus causing the whole lot to stall. During all of this anyone even attempting to join the server would stall in any of the screens from joining to playing, some actually seeing no server to join whilst clearly others were in and playing, although being in a state of stall. Any relevant feedback on this would be appreciated.

    Memory leak on Altis ?

    +1 yes same for us....8-10minutes then desync and never to return :( 4-5 guys on a dedi
  4. Still getting an issue with the ammo box scroll selection, after clicking to add the item it returns to the top selection :( Makes loading out a real drag :(
  5. Is anyone else having an issue when in the ammo box that the slider wont stay in one place, it always goes back to the top with every selection of an item that you make?
  6. Sorry dude i ment the BO_ classes, there were alot of bombs etc that were laser guided, seem to have disappeared from the config, but still work in the game... odd
  7. Did you find the bombs?? I couldnt see them earlier either :(
  8. Works well if your lasertargeting from the ground whilst the UAV is in its own flight path, you can destroy anything :) i killed a roadsign :)
  9. ^^ Thanks ^^ And Comp_uter15776 .... Im not saying how crap they are, we are currently laser designating targets whislt the UAV is flying itself... Im stating that has this been over looked, And for those that really dont care about Goats, this is an important feature that has been applied to every other vehicle within the game except for UAVs Please change it accordingly to enable the scripters to use this as per they have been able to use any other vehicle in the game . Dont discriminate UAVs ....
  10. Thanks and i think we will be creating a ticket for it as im not sure it will be a sensible option to place them as LIVE within our mission. I do find it odd that all the other vehicles have the option to be empty :) and these dont :)
  11. In fear of repeating myself again.... Within the mission we have we place empty vehicles on the spawn for our side to use from script, therefore, unless we are playing around in the editor like everyone has been in this post for the last hour then to me and alot of other mission editors/makers the use of the Greyhawk is not useable within the mission??? We CANNOT put live vehicles into the mission.

Thanks but i have done this as i said in my post before, the issue lays with the EMPTY version of the model when placed on the map and being unable to gain control of it with the UAV terminal as it doesnt show on the map ^^^ Seen and awaiting an official answer? If not then will do a Tracker for it, it needs to be enabled if not surely??
  13. Within our mission the vehicles placed within spawn areas are always EMPTY not associated with any factions, so not being alone when im using a mainstream mission, i again ask the question........!
  14. An empty one placed doesnt show on the UAV terminal map?? Go in the editor and try...
  15. How do you use an Empty placed one when it doesnt even show on the map? I have placed one that is technically on myside and connect no problem and fly with ease, But an empty one that would be placed into a mission is going to be useless??

    Whislt your in here :) One question i would like to know is how the AI drivers would assess potentials routes for a convoy? Are they set up like a sat nav and have the option to do :- as the crow flies, shortest route, longest route and also will they always pick the same route if there are potentially other roads that would lead to rome :) TIA

  18. Noticed the animations for the laser designator dont match the binos and Rangefinder, its drawn straight to the eye and hasn't got the look over like the other two have? Is this intentional?
  19. +1, and too much fiddling can make you go blind :) By that i ment i do think that with all this up this down malarky we are in danger of fighting completely dumb AI and that to me isnt what we are trying to promote. I hear the spinning shooting thing in one shot as a bug, but im unhappy with the single shot ethic i sometimes hear whilst playing or see in here. Unless we are playing with Basic soldiers with short to mid range rifles, then surely we should expect to get shot once if there's snipers on the map? Its almost like we expect to be better than the AI and its not acceptable for them to own us. Alot of the faults called by others can also be to bad mission setup with regards to the values set in the AI. Im sure we have fairly good values, but again the tweaking of them can make it hard to get a happy balance between tottally dumb and uber. I have worked extensively in getting the convoys to work within our mission and thanks to the recent changes to the drivers and their skills, they seem to have a 90/95% success rate, which is pretty good... hats off BIS Basically im getting at please dont end up in some kind of nerfing exercise to end up with nothing of any use. I do think the AI get a hard time and dont always deserve it either :) Without getting shot, take a little time and observe before you knck :)

    diving goggles?

What we are looking for is the ability to be have the various items for the divers available from the base spawned ammo crate. How can we have the rebreather and wetsuit and not the goggles??
  21. I think theres alot of people being very harsh on the OP, merely stating the lack of planes in the release. Be the future lead by drones or real piloted planes, i cannot believe that any of you will not be requiring supplies to be dropped to your infantry squads? Whats going to happen, your going to carry out an ammo box in a drone? or better still wedge a artillery piece in your back pack? The OP has every right to be dismayed at the lack of planes, fighter or transport. Because however war turns out to be in the future there are many things you cannot do with out some form of transport or fighter bomber aircraft. i am +1 and im disappointed the emphasis has swung round to wow we have drones and who needs planes...:p When your having your arse handed to you by the AI and you need bailing out of the mire, just remember the we don't need planes attitude... because you will be wishing different:p
  22. Is it then worth having bug tracker, if no one updates it when its fixed?? You are missing the point Ho Hum thats what they signed up for and get well paid for, according to the high levels of skill, they certainly don't do it for the love of it. im not treating anyone like dirt, im merely stating the facts.. and definitely plus 1 on Cliffords statement if this http://www.bistudio.com/english/company/developers-blog/394-survive-adapt-win, thankyou BIS for going to some length to explain :)
  23. i know that its fine, i was just saying that how come these basic rules cannot be applied in the situation of BIS. As for the tracker... they should have realised that by opening it up to the whole community that this would happen. they should have hand picked reputable clans, and asked their respective leaders of the Arma community to be the voice on the FBT, that way they could have elevated the traffic and know what had been submitted was a valid ticket to be checked and worked on. Not to be receiving tickets from pubescent teenagers looking for XXX fodder begging for BIS to inculde female soldiers within arma 3 so they can play dress up and un dress and put her into rude poses :) Its should be called the Feedback Lottery as it seems its the case if your ticket rises through the dross and gets seen and solved... maybe i need to go calm down but the faith i had at the beginning is leaving me now....:(
