It has to be the mission.sqm, nothing else will give you that error message, you should also be able to click it and ignore, annoying i know but not game breaking.

@insem - Add the addon to your mission.sqm, where all the other addons are listed. Easy way is launch Australia, place a unit in the editor, save as an MP mission, read the mission.sqm.

You're adding to many at once is usually the case, try smaller polygons or less objects.

Your settings from your 'MapFrame' in the samplers tab, it's 'Satellite/Surface (mask) tiles' You could use 256 but make sure the texture layer doesn't drop in doing so, you want it at 32-40 ideally, any less will affect performance. -
Can someone help me work out why dust will not work on my terrain, clutter works fine, objects work fine, in fact everything works but there is zero dust. Resolved, adding cfgVehicles before cfgWorlds fixed it.

You're correct target_practise, you can only have 5 surfaces per tile cell size, so if you have 512 tiles then you can't exceed 5 surfaces per 512 meters + overlap. -

Terrain Builder replaces textures

Try and see if you can work round it, you can change the tile size to 256 but if that affects the 'Texture Layer' don't, My texture layer is 40 and if i use 256 i'd be forced to use 20, that will have an affect on performance. What i did was push my seabed out a few hundred meters, far enough away so i could use my tarmac, get creative and hopefully you can find a workaround. -

You can only have 5 surfaces within your tile size range, so if you have 512 tile size you can only have 5 surfaces within 512 meters + your overlap. It basically uses another surface instead of what you wanted, I had the same problem trying to add tarmac on my airport, because it was by the sea it has seabed, sand, concrete runways, soil and grass, the tarmac was too much. Could that be why ? -

It's actully Ibiza Airport :) but i do see how similar it looks, good spot. I liked the runway layout, I did fancy Malta International Airport but it was a tad too wide for the location i had in mind, perhaps my extra island will have that one but i'm a long way from there, have my main island to finish before adding new land. -

Terrains take months to make, well a decent one does. I spent 2 weeks just preparing the terrain in L3DT, before any surface choices were made and any objects placed. Why not learn yourself and then not have to rely on anyone, it's not hard, it's just time consuming and so f'kin tedious at times :lol: still, I love it- 28 replies
