I think arma shout have a ropes feature to be utilized by infantry in all kinds of ways!!! Its totally a question of a particular mission design to make considerations wether to make ropes available or restrict the according to individual circumstances but in general there shoud be ropes with hooks for climbing and vehicle manipulation and wharever might be desireable. The ropes feature adds so much strategic depht to project reality for example, it should be made dependent on decisions about actual gameplay mechanics and balance and not on naive, uninformed and speculative believes about whether swat uses ropes a lot or not oO Give us ropes!
-
Yea screw ropes, real army has no ropes either, if army has no rope, arma must not have ropes... Wait what?
-
Im sincerely inclined to believe so, but nobody can say for sure because the guy who wrote the original code for the interaction menu now lives as a hermit in a himalayan monastery and he took his laptop with him. :)

No seriously, jokes aside, its been like this since the alpha, it will never change. P.s. Dont argue with the people, they are part of the reason things stay as they are -

Yes, go make a feedback ticket you infidel, instead of complaining! Look at starwars battlefront, they dont have a server browser at all! Would you like that better? Server browsing might just be too complicated for you, better go play starwars! -
Yea at least a LITTLE love for the good old rotating wheels of smoke :)
-
Yea ok, but it probably cant be done because the action is, local but it has to be a global action and it has to be synced and that cant be done because the mousewheel movement is interconnected with headless client and really driving server fps and without people mousewheeling the doors open the server fps would drop and desync or something.

Eh i dont get it, whats wrong with altis lowlife and king of the weapon walmart? Its a user error, i have fun playing every time, you are doing something wrong! You have to join a super tactical realism group!!! Dont you like to shoot bots? Whats wrong with you? Didnt you know arma isnt a pvp game? They write that in the terms of agreement, didnt you read the terms of agreement before you buy? You have to use teamspeak, i have no fps issues i have 200fps straight in multiplayer, i love altis life. Go back to CoD kiddo11!!!1!!!1!!!!! P.s. I never ever ever witnessed anyone complaining about not beeing able to find a propper mp server, i can not relate. P.s. Planetside2 and project reality dont have role based combined arms warfare on huge maps, you are comparing apples to grapes man, err ok wait planetside2 and project reality do not have bots in bermuda shorts sitting in front of cash registers selling guns! -
It depends... ;)

When will we be able to use the mouse keys to adjust stance in conjunction with movement keys like we used to?
fabio_chavez replied to meester's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Isnt that possible anymore? I used mouse keys to adjust too, very important for my setup! -
There are rumours that some military games even feature, squad and loadout\kit management screens in their UI, but thats really just hearsay i never have encountered anything that sophisticated and usefull in my entire life, maybe someone dreamt about it and wrote it to the internet or something. Anyway it probably be a 3 gigabyte download and require the staff of star citizen an a year of development time plus r&d funding by darpa... Maybe we can start a kickstarter and fund it with some of our spare organs or sell our soul to the devil or something

Its impossible for the arma 3 engine to handle tracked amphibious vehicles (who would even think of that in a milsim anyway) , i assume its too complicated for the devs to come up with a solution, it probably requires some really smart and handsome people to fix this. :)

I think this deserves an own thread! Everyone who is planning to upgrade his system within the next 12 Month or so has to decide at one point if Skylake i7-6700K/i5-6600K is a preferable option (over i7 4790k and i7-5820K??) or even to wait to see if AMD might even pull a rabbit out of its hat with the Zen that could be the optimum in terms of absolute performance or performance per money. Lets monitor and track the infos that are now appearing more and more reliable (for Skylake at least). So for now the most interessting Question would be the performance i7-4970k vs i7-6700k which we might get to know during the imminent Gamescon where the new skylakes are supposed to be presented. Any guesses?

maybe we can shift the attention now to the next important community driven upgrade request? Arma 3 support for tracked amphibious vehicles! so much stuff in the waiting at RHS and the Community Upgrade Project etc that just cant be used because no support for floating tanks: image source: RHS Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/redhammerstudios/photos/a.585221418157522.1073741825.478330008846664/1037445086268484/?type=1&theater vote for this tracker: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=19911 -
Arma 3 CPU vs RAM performance comparison 1600-2133= up to 15% FPS gain
fabio_chavez replied to dasa's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Bratwurste you give very little solid reasoning for ur claims, afaik ram timings are neglectible over bare clock speed and i doubt it will be worth the loads of extra money to switch from my ssd to fancy raid or ramdisc, id rather spend a little extra on overclockable ram if that really makes a difference. Especially fast ddr3 is cheap these days though if i build a new system its going to be ddr4, id like to hear some first hand experience with a3 and fast ddr4 in particular -
Arma 3 CPU vs RAM performance comparison 1600-2133= up to 15% FPS gain
fabio_chavez replied to dasa's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
i read that DDR4 can as well now hit very high clockspeed (up to 4ghz?), anyone ever tested that on arma3? bratwurste, afaik the significant fps increase from high ram clocks is pretty consistently affirmed/validated, how come you claim its placebo? -
Fatigue Feedback (dev branch)
fabio_chavez replied to solzenicyn's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
what arma 3 clearly lacks is athlete's foot simulation, in the real world, soldiers are forced to manage the humidity in their boots at all time and if they fail to do so, they get mean fungus infestation in their combat boots. Same goes for wet knickers chafe marks on marches!- 1935 replies

Arma 3: Community wishes & ideas- NO DISCUSSION
fabio_chavez replied to Maio's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
a bit more of a responsive environment would be nice but things like "everthing completely destructable" is a Battlefield style feature creep marketing phrase... not much significance to gameplay, though i gotta admit that arma has not allways had the most elegant solutions for demolution models *cough* ugly damage materials *cough* *cough* flattened buildings and objects *cough* how about non-comical fire/smoke particle effects? -
its the lamest period not to have a pc and waiting for the next generation to build a system, in history... PLUS Haswells are expensive as fuck in europe atm.... when skylake arrives i hope at least one of the CPU familys will be affordable...

playing shooters with 120hz+120fps is delicacy for the soul!

The human eye is designed in such a way, that it can only distinguish 24 different TV channels per Second.

cmon skylake has at least to give an absolute 10% single thread increase?!
