    that would be bad game design, movement is a delicate factor to the gameplay balancing of a specific gamemode, what can be good for one gamemode can kill the next one, arma should deliver a framework of moderately penalizing fatigue that should be easily tweakable, mission/mod wise.

    Arma 3 doesnt have an official gamemode, does it make any sense to create a hyper specific fatigue system if there is no gamemode according to which gameplay it can be ballanced to?

    googlava after a year or so (didnt have a pc most of the time meanwhile), i picked up some old lighting configs i was working on and that i tried to finish but there where some inconsitencys i couldnt seem to get rid of. this is the problem, in the end of the video you see the sun disappear behind thick clouds, though the hard drop shadows remain. Now i tried all kinds of settings with these parameters (and many more) e.g.: (example which parameters i use, values are NOT actually representative of what i was working with) class Overcast: Overcast { class Weather: Weather { overcast = 1; diffuse = 0.6; cloudDiffuse = 0.7; lightingOvercast = 1; }; and class Lighting72 { height = 0; overcast = 0.4; sunAngle = 12; sunOrMoon = 1; diffuse[] = {{1.1,0.7252,0.485},11.9719}; diffuseCloud[] = {{0.822,0.75,0.646},0.4719}; ambient[] = {{0.383,0.58,0.858},9.60039}; ambientCloud[] = {{0.383,0.58,0.858},8.80039}; ambientMid[] = {{0.522,0.56134,0.796},6.77875}; ambientMidCloud[] = {{0.4698,0.505206,0.7164},6.10087}; groundReflection[] = {{0.3,0.3,0.3},0.567088}; groundReflectionCloud[] = {{0.3,0.3,0.3},0.567088}; bidirect[] = {0.08,0.08,0.07}; bidirectCloud[] = {0.03,0.03,0.03}; but i cant seem to get the balance between sunhalo and and dropshadow intensity with the general lighting balance right! i wished i could simply overwrite the dropshadow visibility in class Overcast: Overcast{ class Weather: Weather or something like that... its frustrating, im not a professional game developper or anything but id really really like to finish this! please googlava get back to me on this one, even if you just say that what i try to do is impossible, then i can just drop it for good but id rather finish this and implement it in CUP Terrains! :///

    no harm intended but why are you generalizing? speak for yourself if you dont like pvp but there is no reason to defend the status quo :/ its not like pvp and coop is a zero sum game...

    altis life was kind of a obstacle/suffocating factor to many who where seeking a different kind of experience from arma 3 but that is not the fault of altis life offcourse, if anyone is to blame it would be BI for not taking more measures to satisfy different player pools, however its a dilemma for them because altis life has a significant part in a3s success. In the end of the day its not a zero sum game but BI let slip away the opportunity to reconcile effectively one particular play style: "classic pvp" (BIs traditional weakness) in favour of BIs traditional strenghts PvE/Scenario based gameplay + sandbox and community conducted novel rpg style gameplay and i wonder if there will be some more effort from BIs side aside from general MP performance tweaks... KoTH pushing and endgame didnt do it. sorry redundant offtopic rant, content stealing is bad.

    it was explained to me that the steam master servers do not support metadata or something... though i wonder how that can keep the game from using its own hidden tags in server names or something?

    The thing about ram timings is not true as far as i understand but whatever... Skylakes are also not too bad but much too expensive... Offcourse i wouldnt have bought it if my old pc wasnt broken

    The clocks are permanently on 4,5ghz with ~50% load across all 4 cores according to hwinfo overlay

    I could get you an answer but the principles of human decency... and the forum rules about explicit language forbid to speak it out in public. Its funny how there doesnt seem to be a mission too exotic to be found running on a server but at the same time its impossible to find a plain and mildly entertaining regular MP gamemode, e.g. as is the job of a company to provide to its multiplayer focused best selling game. So far any effort in that depatment was either nonexistent or kind of halfassed (except for performance improvement where they really do a lot)... They dont priorize the problem because there are still myriads of clueless mofos swarming any possible kind of server... The numbers seem to confirm BIs "benign neglect" laissez faire kind of policy here but i would disagree, its a lot of locked potential with relatively small effort to unleash. Eventually in the bigger picture, its the result of this policy that public pvp is abysmal in arma 3 and if i would have known this in advance id have not bought the game, nor will i put any money in any dlc as long as it in this state and the next game that can offer complex tactical pvp is just around the corner. A fact wich is unfortunately not an incentive for BI to priorize, because why compete with other products in the genre you traditionally suck the most instead of focusing of unique core features that bond diehard fans and openminded weird ass gamemode lovers instead of trying to attract fps hoppers in the niche market of tactical pvp milsim... It is reasonable for BI to doesnt give shht about pvp, they simply dont have to and only a masterful company of true greatness and honor would care to deliver that ontop of what arma 3 allready delivers :) So long, we can taxi some bots from a to b with the official heli dlc missions, quite challenging :) Inb4: You can try my mission XY its really great you can download it from the workshop Inb4: Go play CoD kid! Inb4: I find good missions all the time, the server browser is great, i have 200 fps in altis-life.

    Stock turbo is 3,9 ghz, so the oc is 600mhz, generally i do experience higher fps ingame, however with these benchmarks and videosettings on the "high" preset, i get these results... GPU load is kind of maxed most of the time, the question would be if other people would get different results with same conditions of one or a few different hardware parts, i think what mostly kills fps for me now are the fast camera movements through towncenters, due to the nature of that issue, i would expect 600mhz zu help a BIT but not much, that would align with the 2 fps in avg i get on yaab

    meanwhile, i overclocked to 4,5ghz (+600mhz), on the halo benchmarks i get the exact same results (With quality preset "High" in 1920x1080) as with stock speed and a ~2 fps increase on YAAB (now 41fps in avg as opposed to 38 before)... so far the only significant fps gain i had was due to activating the XMP profiles to run the RAM on 3000mhz 15-15-15-35​. Maybe i should do a rerun on Ultra e.g. since Halo Altis seems to be maxed out at 60 p.s. considering to revert the oc and undervolt instead since the lame piece of silicone i got seems to undervolt better than to overclock anyway

    elf! (engine limitation frustration). Boy, bohemia interactive really didnt design these features with much foresight... why dont they simply made it in a way that allows modders to set "hud_fastswitch 1"/"impulse x" like in the good old days, since that part of code from arma 3 stems from the good old days anyway XD

    is it really a difference wether the use action to trigger the switch to handgun action or the select handgun/rifle/launcher action? i have no understanding of the matter but im really happy that a3 finally scrapped the hardcoded number keys and having the 2 old switch to launcher and switch to handgun actions is kind of a step backwards in that matter, i allways hated the actions so much almost more than not beeing able to move while switching ;)

    please consider updating this mod to the new weapon selection system, so that you e.g. can use 1,2,3 keys to select a weapon directly instead of using the old "switch to handgun" and "switch to launcher" action!
