It is just another way. I thought it would be better that way for performance and compatibility, because event handlers can be deleted by other addons and because i supposed that checking every half second would be better than the number of checks an Eh can make internally. The setpos command is only applied to those units with the "copy" status. If all of them are not in "copy" mode no command is given. And all this maybe, because the lack of proper documentation for this game is a true pain in the ass.

Updated to 1.1. I managed to add voice commands, but i don't know how to add the unit enumeration voices. The non existent documentation doesn't help at all. NOTE to Foxhound: Everything is updated, included the video.

I think that any form of "common reward" is impossible except fully supporting donations. The community will fragment. But mainly because of tons of legal issues: scams, collaborations, conflict resolution, ... scams, scams again. And beause nobody is going to pay for shitty content, to be clear. Nobody is going to pay for an addon that adds some fancy hats, not this community, maybe The Sims, but not this. If BI has an initiative to keep some people "happy", well, it is easy: Choose the people or teams that you consider highly skilled and hire them as freelance to generate massive content of all kind, doing jobs that are not in the development timeline ... advanced medical system, grenades, porting content, making new assets, texturing. Don't want to hire?, offer rewards to the mentioned people. Do you think that the creators of ACE deserve incentives?, then go on. Maybe even they are already doing this for some time. But please, please leave off the table any try to build an addon market.

There is a lot of difference between a "secret" compensation coming from BI, and a DLC or paid addon, or people selling sh*t out there by its own. I would like to see how BI releases a DLC with all the A2 content. I'd pay for it and if kju is involved then he deserves his piece of cake. Why not? keep those people motivated. I really like it. But what I'm absolutely against is a kind of app store or market place for ArmA. Hell no. That day I will burn the game onto a disc, only to throw it to the trash. And the content still should be accesible, more or less like now. Do you want to support the community? Do you want more modders in the future?, then let the people see how it is done.

The weapon sway overall is fine, quite realistic, what is really needed is a well balanced AI that suffers the same sway and imprecisions, weapon resting, more lung capacity (not the actual child version), and well made missions that take in account all factors. Of course there are some silly things like the binacular sway ...

I like the idea of a small bar or icon, but it will take time. I'll check it. The user settings system is now implemented. I added the setting to enable the info hint until the dialog solution. Stay tuned -

The mod is configured to use the default throw key G. I think all those problems come from there. The next update will include the possibility to change the key. For now the mouse controls will remain as is. I don't see a better solution. Using more keys for cook and cancel actions would be excessive, those options are not used enough to need two dedicated keys. The force indicator was removed from the release version for two reasons. In real life there is no force indicator, and to not interfere with other addons or missions. Mostly it is a debug feature that is using the hint panel and could overlap to other messages. -

Congratulations BIS. You nailed it with Altis. Independently of the mediterranean ambient, that cannot like everyone, the work, effort and care making this map is really superb and can be noticed since the first look. As said, very fine job. :)

A really good work. I like it!. It uses the higher resolution capabilities but keeps the original feeling. The noise pattern scale very well. Color is fantastic. Tested with the default midrange texture so i expect a general darkening when you release the new one, but with the current colors i think it could be even better. Please in the final version take advantage of the object maps to make fake AO and shadows. -
Big point for that. The work made by LordJarhead with his mod, and other mods, is amazing, but they are still based on a basic sound replacement. And that's because the engine is really limited. I want to create my own functions and effects, and i want make my own attenuation functions and echo engine. But for now ...

There are people playing the vanilla version, and others can't play without mods. I have 87 GB of all kind of addons related to A2 and A3, and i'm not including the game itself. If you can obtain a very detailed terrain that makes your gameplay experience better, why not to download it? -

Hi! talking about performance and with numbers ... I have the whole island patched, including the sea zones. All the satellite maps, normal maps, and the midrange are 4k. That is 129 huge textures and 1,4 GB of addon. My hardware is i7 2600k OC 4,5 Ghz, 32 GB ram, GTX590, 2x SSD RAID0 (1 GB/s), XFI Elite Pro, ... In the infantry showcase i get a solid 75-80 fps at the moment of the first shoot out. Without the addon i get the same, maybe more 80 than 75, but that difference is irrelevant. In the editor i get 100-150 fps with or without the addon. I have never had a game crash by this reason. The Bad: 4k textures are really badass. Without the proper hardware you are going to notice stuttering and frame skipping. Maybe from a certain level the fps will not very affected, but the memory amount, bandwidth and such things will suffer. You can play at 70 fps and meanwhile notice stuttering, so the fps are not always the most important. The Good: Once done the 4k addon, making a 2k version or 1k should not take more than an hour. For people with older hardware. If NordKindchen decides to continue and release his work, i'm not sure that everyone can use it. Some people will notice some artifacts, some will be OK, and those with the proper hardware will be amazed xD. The same occurs with very well known addons that improve effects, explosions, ... so nothing new in this world. By the way, an amazing texturing job and tests NordKindchen. ;) To our beloved devs: please give us the ability to tweak the lightning of the soldiers dynamically using scripts. We will do the method if necessary, but a single brightness multiplier for every unit would be one of the most wanted solutions for concealing. :rolleyes: -

The misterious thing is why BI makes very low detailed textures when the work amount is not lineal. The required time is almost the same for small textures than the big ones. What it costs is searching for references, making tools, ... but the size is the less relevant in terms of time. Someone said that Altis is 32'7x32'7 km of which 20 km2 are land. That is 400 tiles at 1k or 100 tiles at 2k. If Stratis is so, with Altis i would be really worried. Also, in the last "direct" some parts looked at least as blurry as Stratis. -
