  1. I'm playing the single player version, .50. When I call an artillery strike I can hear the mortars being fired and I can tell which direction the sound is coming from. I'm just wondering, if I walked in the direction of the sound would I be able to find the mortar crew? Are they actually somewhere on the map?
  2. How do you wear an oculus rift and effectively use a keyboard to play? Especially in a game like Arma which has so many keybindings. I have to look at my keyboard to press the right keys every now and then.
  3. I tried it last night and it works. I wasn't using the "revert" option to load saved games before, and that was the cause of my earlier failure.
  4. I play the single player version (.50) in multiplayer LAN also. 0-0-0 to save the game doesn't work for me. The only way I'm able to save is to exit the game entirely at which point it saves the game automatically, and then come back in using the resume option. I tried the single player under the Scenarios option, but I couldn't get it to save reliably. It's been a while and I'm going to try it again tonight. Maybe I was doing something wrong.
  5. I submitted the following bug report thinking it was a problem with the Arma 3 code. I've since learned from poster Guess Who that this is a know limitation of the CBA mod. Is it possible to fix this or provide some sort of workaround? I did try it with the latest release of CBA last night and the problem is still there. Thanks. It's a known limitation of how these mods interact with CBA and how CBA interacts with the engine. The result is that neither FA_Stance, ST_hud nor ST_mapbrightnes and some others which bring new display/hud elements to ArmA will work with a loaded save game in single player.     Please disregard my previous post. I've since found out that it is a known limitation with the CBA mod. I'll ask the developers of that mod if there is anything that can be done.
  7. Thanks! As a test I installed the FA_GPS addon which doesn't require CBA. That one works, while the others dependent on CBA don't. So I guess this known limitation is the problem. I'll contact Sickboy and see what he says. Thanks again for letting me know.

One of my replies in my bug report is that all mods stop working at the same time, and when they start working again, they all work (I made this reply in the report after I started this thread so you don't see it here). So it seems unlikely to me that all the mods are coded incorrectly. It's more likely to be a problem in the Arma code. So I'm a little upset that they closed my issue without looking into it, however I can see the point that it would be best if an author of the mod works with BIS to get this resolved. Since someone else stated they also this problem, it's a real issue as far as I'm concerned. I hope it gets resolved.

    Maybe the developer of FA_Stance can help me. I submitted the following bug report to BIS, but they won't consider fixing it unless a bug report is submitted by a mod author. Would you consider submitting a bug report on my behalf?   11. I have an occasional problem with this addon and submitted a feedback report to BIS. Here's a copy of that report and their reply. They suggested I contact the author of the addon. One thing that I didn't mention in my report that I'm going to as soon as I finish this post is that when my addons don't work, they all don't work. It's not that some work and some don't. They all stop working and then, usually when I respawn, they all start working again. Makes me wonder if it's not BIS's problem after all.   12. Yeah, I noticed this too. My AI squad won't follow my orders. They stand around with the other friendly AI at the respawn point, and get picked off by any OPFOR that come by. On normal alpha, latest MP version.
  13. I was playing the .52 version last night as singleplayer. Tried to drive my team to Kamino fire range from the spawn point in one of trucks at the spawn. The game crashed about 2/3rds of the way to Kamino. Did it three times and crashed every time. I'll see if I can walk them there tonight. Before using a truck I did manage to fly their once in a helicopter with my team, but later I tried it again in a helicopter and the game crashed. That's why I switched to a truck, but I didn't have any better luck. Hope this helps with your debugging, SaOK.
  14. The mission crashed once for me last night. I called a chopper for air evacuation. I was supposed to drop smoke, but instead I threw an HE grenade. After that I did drop smoke, but the chopper just hovered in the air far above. It never landed to pick us up. After a while I was able to call another chopper. The first one was still in the air. When the second one came near the game crashed. I was playing version .51 as a single player mission, so my team mates were all AI. Restarted the game and I was able to do a helicopter evacuation. Pretty cool experience. I'm very impressed with your creativity and programming skills!
  15. Okay, I see what you mean. I might give it a try, if I get motivated enough to learn the code. If I screw it up I can always restore from a backup or redownload the mission.
  16. I looked in the init.sqf file in this mission's folder and searched for aimingaccuracy, accuracy, aimingshake, aiming, skill, setSkill, and found none of these in the file. I found forEach and allUnits but there is nothing about setting accuracy. Maybe skill can't be modified from Arma 3's defaults? SaOk do you know if it can?

  18. Hi, I've never played Arama before. I enjoy your mission a lot, however I feel there is quite a jump in difficulty from the novice level of difficulty to the next level (normal or regular, I can't remember what it's called and I'm not at my game computer right now). It seems the AI in regular mode are both good at spotting me, and highly accurate with their weapons. Could one of these be turned down a little in the regular level of difficulty? Novice is too easy and I don't like the red circles that indicate enemies. I like the challenge of spotting them without that, however regular is a bit too hard. A level between novice and regular without any of the novice level's visual crutches is what I'm asking for. If weakening the regular level's AI isn't well received by the rest of the community then would it be possible to add the ability for the player to more finely tune the AI difficulty? Maybe this feature is not available in Arma. As I said, I'm new to the game and don't know. Thanks for considering my suggestion.
