SUGGESTION: Auto lower weapon when against walls
Gorbachev replied to Jex's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
I've often aimed at the ground, held alt and looked where i was going. Releasing alt causes the view to snap to the rifle again and you then can aim fairly quickly if you perceive a threat. Is this ideal? Hell no. I'd rather weapon collisions be non-existent like other titles that shall remain nameless for fear of being stoned. That would be more ideal than most any clunky gimmick. Sure you will see weapons poking through walls but I still think that is better than feeling like an awkward robot who cannot lower its own arms without some contorted fingers manipulating the keyboard. -

How about space = the universal use/open key. And how about adding an inventory radio. If you don't have this radio, you can't call support or communicate with your AI squadmates via the command menu. Move all script added actions to the radio. -
Going off topic here, but I am assuming you play Kenshi?

FM = flight model. How the aircraft behaves. -

That is correct. I believe in ArmA, Q and Z only change the pitch, not the RPM. I could be wrong. -
Nice to see the TRG (TAR21) rifles improving!

I love Viper's EBR. I am able to repeatedly and reliably hit targets at varying distances with each shot out to 800 yards. While at 16x though, the hold-over at 1600 yards is below my field of vision unfortunately. All with a Savage 110. -
No one has even touched on anything the OP said.. .. Fact is, I believe the "thermal signature" put off by cars, guns and vehicles (so on so forth) are all a texture file. On guns in particular, there are several textures which replace on another based upon how much the gun is fired to represent heat intensification. For the ground to have this effect, they would need to write the code that causes a sunny day to heat the land. For all objects in a given scene to have this data applied to it would be a fairly large undertaking. So while there is not enough heated objects to make the thermal imaging represent real life effectively it gets the job done as is.

As a major hater on the scroll bar I'm just going to give you a bump and a bit of praise. Yay Fap! Q and Z raise and lower collective respectively. This is the pitch of the blade. -
50% GPU & CPU Usage During Helicopter Flight

My i7 does fine for the most part. Definitely not being utilized though. -
These volumetric clouds appear as 2D sprites on my end. They rotate and swivel wherever I go so I've disabled them. Shadows from these do not sound promising, but otherwise I agree it is a good idea.

No difference here. Most likely because A3 isn't making use of my 4 cores with 2 threads each (seen by windows as 8 cores). Offloading PhysX to the CPU made no difference with numerous AI crumpling upon death. Non-dev build.

Getting rid of the Grass Layer: Yes / No as well as an Idea

The SQB_SMA mod disables the "sinking" effect or does it actually make use of it by simply making the ground camouflage the unit? -
I had it set to CPU globally because of another thread (that I can't be arsed to find) saying the opposite was true. I will now do a proper test (again). Parenthesis are fun.

Did you use the search function? http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?144694-Oculus-Rift-VR-headset&highlight=oculus http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?138144-New-VR-Headest-actually-looks-viable-for-avarage-gamers&highlight=oculus There about 15 other results with the Oculus Rift mentioned.

Is this the approach then? I spent my money with the wrong company. I'd be less annoyed by pirating the game and paying the modders for finishing it.
-
Is this how you conduct yourself in day to day life? Honestly..
-
It has been ~ since the beginning, hasn't it?

I don't hear nearby AI or player steps either.

This should be very interesting. I hope to see the AI evolve between now and release through this thread.

Radio/VoIP communication simulation in ArmA 3...it fails.
Gorbachev replied to AbortedMan's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Personally I think we should go with ACRE for voice, vanilla for text. -

The 560ti and the fact that he is running Nvidia drivers would hint ever so slightly to a resounding no. -
This is exactly what he is wanting removed. For the side-step to be reset any time you change stance, so when you return to crouch you're not wondering why you can't side-step out to the right because you already are. I agree, because it's silly having to look at my legs in first person to see what is going on with my own body.

With so many interesting 3D technologies available and coming I am curious to see what BI would look at for the future of ArmA. I can not personally fathom gutting and revamping the RV engine for another 10 years. Conceive of playing ArmA on an entire planet, rather than island-like landmasses. http://www.outerra.com/ Combine that with the incredible soft bodied physics from Rigs of Rods.. http://www.rigsofrods.com/content/ And finally and you've got the basis for a real world simulator. 20 years at a maximum, if world events remain stable, and we should be seeing this.

That is by far the best instant action mission floating around and it has lost favor to some pretty boring missions. Sometimes it's fun to just plop into a server and start killing people.
