    AT soldiers animations: odd behaviour

The standard keyboard shortcuts do not work as expected. This is a bug for sure. But I can't confirm the bugs, because your shortcuts do not match exactly to mine. But probably others can reproduce the errors. This arrangement of At-animations is for 10 years a chain of temporary solutions and can not be solved in 6 postings. I would like to know more about it, but have to know first, what is expected in each situation. 3.) The pistol (secondary weapon) was accidently invoked because there is a glitch in the menus. When you watch the movie in slowmotion, you can clearly see that the cursor slipped to the "P07 9 mm"-menuitem. This is a known bug since ages. I would like to see that all weapons, let it be AT-launcher, binoculars, M203, pistol, handgrenade, smokegrenade, satchel or whatever can be free configurable in the shortcut-dialog. So, when you have choosen a shortcut for the pistol, the item "P07 9 mm" will no longer appear in the standard-menu. It's just a suggestion... 4.) So you are missing a prone loading animation for the AT-launcher? 9.) So what's the point here? You are in the prown position, using the binoculars. Then you invoke the crouched position, and the avatar don't go directly to the new stance, but changes to the rifle?

    Better animations?

I don't know exactly, how long BIS have the capability to motion capture animations from actors, but I know for sure that the excuse "IT'S AN ALPHA!" can not be taken for this. On one hand you confess, that all of the AT-animations in combination with every other equipment like binoculars, pistol and primary weapon are totally messed up. In combination with every stance. Even sometimes you end up in a endless animation loop, when you get shot. Since the alpha of Operation Flashpoint, btw. :o And on the other side you claim that BIS uses their own Motion Capture Studio and thus makes errors impossible. I don't get it. 3. Will DayZ-standalone have the capability to use mods? Will ArmA3 be capable to use the DayZ-standalone as a mod?

    Recoil to sky?

Steam Forum: Recoil is ridiculous Quote WIP=Work in progress
  5. - You can save your health status and your equipment local on your machine. There is already a online mission out there, where you can save 10 predefined sets. But a cheater could manipulate this "savegame". - Using Savegames: This technic is known from campaigns, that your safe all the important details to a file (savegame) and use this for the further gameplay. The only thing that used to be changed is the suffix "*.stratis" to "*.limnox" when you want to switch between those. - It would also be possible that BIS finds a way to use the official islands as parameters, like that you could use startup parameters "-stratis; -limnox" when you know that you are going to play a mission on these two islands. Back to topic: I guess this request can be easy solved whis a community-made addon. Edit:

    boarding animation

Generally speaking, the doors should be animated when the driver/pilot got in.
  7. For me, a key feature for ArmA3. It highlights the opportunity to develop a strategy, to communicate, and work in teams. That's what BIS-games differs from other shooters!
  8. I was in the wrong assumption that it will be like that.
  9. I haven't played it since 3 weeks now. :(

    Better animations?

I don't think this one will do. Why? Because everything here is said is a restriction since Operation Flashpoint. Normally you should perform a search in the ArmA3Alpha-Bugtracker but I've just given up the hope. When you want to have these things get repaired, you better open a new thread for this. You have my full support.
  12. I did not know that ArmA3 modules must have to be in any way useful with VBS.But the modular system is known to me. If it would work some day, these modules could be used in certain areas inside a mission. For example, if you want to create an atmosphere you could set modules for civilian population into individual places in a mission. Because if you fill the whole mission with civil population, it eats the entire computing power. My suggestion is just to create an anti-TK-module, which can be used 1.) at the respawn 2.) in the base or 3.) around Ammocaches. Maybe someone else has a better idea. Another suggestion is, that you immediately remove team killers because of their negative score from a running multiplayer. It has also been said, friendly fire used to be a reastic feature inside a simulation. With a localised module, you can have both: The feature of friendly fire in the operational area and protection against new connected kiddies, who are destroying your base. But the example above shows how someone uses the game correctly and laid mines in its function as a sapper (pioneer or combat engineer). Each player has in ArmA3 Mouse hints to the explosives but only one class of players can defuse it with a menu. Inexperienced players are attracted by the hints and approach more and more, because they expect a popup-menu that "Deactivate" or other goodies. If they are killed by their own stupidity, they make even a veteran player to a team killer.

    100% Video card usage

It is not like that we aim the first time through a scope, buddy. Where does the temperature of 95°C come from?
  14. But both features have been confirmed for ArmA3: 3D Editor Underground structures I have even seen a advertising movie with a light terraforming feature.

    Low-Ready Position

The aiming deadzone is used for a horizontal movement with your head, the size is configureable in the options. How about when we use a vertical free movement for this task? Certainly it wouldn't work with a circle, but for sure from the middle (aimpoint) to the bottom of the screen. The feature to click with the trigger to raise the weapon is already there. I haven't vote yet.

    arma 3 zoombies

The ArmA3-Alpha Forum is not related to DayZ. Go and discuss this topic elsewhere.
  17. Arma2:Startup Parameters If the software has set down the settings automatically with "-benchmark", so maybe it could be forced by removing the parameter. The startup parameter "-nobenchmark" seems also to work in arma3.
  18. No one should be able to host a game if the original files have not been verified.
  19. Only for completeness: Whenever one changed the original files, the according checksums are no longer valid. This different checksums are recognized when you enable signature checking. The clear difference to using 3rd-party cheats is that the original files were modified. It has been reported that nowadays the cheaters using completely different files (also with other checksums) and they hide the visibility completely with harmful Tools (PBO-hider). But both cases are considered as cheating. The regular online players never has an excuse for wrong signatures.
  20. There have been tampered with the log files on the servers. It can not be the meaning of logs, that every hacker can open them with a rootkit or trojan and manipulate it under the eyes of the Admins. The log files need to be better protected against tampering in the future. A log is normally changed only at the bottom line. Otherwise it is a fake but not a log.
  21. I haven't "tested" the alpha for 2 weeks now, due to the "bis_fnc_mp-incident", but I had have a similar idea: Only when you have finished the 4 Singleplayermissions (Showcases) , you becomes invited to the betatests. That should become true for all the alpha-light players, too. It's just a suggestion.
  22. I have recognised in ArmA3 that it is more important to have a possibility to take cover in a proper height, where you can see the enemy and didn't get hit. I becomes often more killed because it is still unconvenient to set the right height but not because I am walking in the wrong speed. This is not just cosmetic, but affects the function of the game.
  23. Do I have a stalker here? When you participate here in the discussion, tell your own opinion but don't do statements for the developers, when it is not your job. When you are a BIS-employee, watch your tone please. Whenever BIS is leaving the modding-capability out of the multiplayer, it is the decision of BIS, but not mine. There is a risk that all of these horror scenarios become true. Right, I brought this into this discussion and there is probably more to come when Steam is going to be involved: Link

make Arma2 content available for free or as DLC.

I would like to mention, that I already have the licenses for all versions of Arma. It is not like that I would get for free. But like before mentioned, I wouldn't hesitate to pay for it. I would like to make the suggestion, that the "Supporter-Edition" from ArmA3 could be extended in that way, that already existing official-ArmA-versions (including DLCs) can be ported to ArmA3. The "AllInArmA-mod" is guiding into the right direction and is basic research for the future "armaversum".
  25. BattlEye in the game Options with buttons? If you haven't it recognized yet: In ArmA2 you have 3 options whether to start ArmA2 with or without BattlEye. I can not even imagine a example for the 3rd case. [ ] With BattlEye [x] Without BattlEye [ ] Let me cheat the hell out of the game. Lol, probably this looks normal for you - but not for me. It is not usefull to have a option with a interface for this, because it is the first step for script-kiddies and cheaters. These option have to be hidden. Passworded servers? What makes you think that a passworded server gives you more security? This one leading wishful thinking is absolutely wrong - when you assume, that playing (or testing) on closed servers is more secure than on open servers. Thats just a illusion. The people becomes not trustworthy, because they are playing on a closed server. To say that you would know 30 foreign people and trust them, just because you share a password with them, disqualified yourself. They will try to steal your ArmA2/3-License here and there. The actual status of the ArmA3Alpha is: No matter if the server is locked or not, you actually play without any protection. Your argument is invalid. When you talk about 30 persons on a closed server, how many of them cheat by themself? You will have the same percentage of cheaters on non-public servers than on public servers. From my own experience I can tell that around 5 out of 30 are cheaters. Perhaps even more (and heavier) on closed servers. By chances you are the only one who is not cheating. If these closed servers are such a great thing, how comes that in ArmA2 the servers often runs without signature-check, and even BattlEye is also deactivated on these closed servers? And are there really 30 players, all with the same license key? Most of the closed servers using 3rd party server software for ArmA, that is in fact a cheating console. When you run alphatests on it, you will reporting bugs that are compatible with cheats and cheating consoles. I can assure you that all cheats were tested on closed servers, before they hit the internet. In fact, some servers are testbeds and non-public for this reason.
