I'm not too worried about this particular issue. It effects so many people and Bohemia paid money to license PhysX, they have to get it resolved at some point (if not they might as well sign up with EA or Activison). It was just disappointing. There's only so much I can test out in the editor. :)

I'm pretty sure if I say what I want to right now I'll get banned. Just imagine the longest stream of obscenities you can, then lengthen it twofold. Guess it's time to set the game down for another couple of months. I just hope the people I was talking to last night didn't buy it already or I'm going to feel like a real asshole for suggesting it. (Said to get it while it's cheap, and that I was relatively confident such a large issue would be fixed in the beta build considering how long it's been around and how little we've heard about it. I'm an idiot.)

Game is popular now. Gotta get it out the door before the Steam mob forgets about it.

So many buttons! I'm going to go insane from wanting to press them. Haha Good stuff guys, thanks for sharing.

Did I miss something? I thought beta starts on the 25th?

I'm inclined to agree with Shagulon. Stats don't really add much to gameplay but they sure do encourage people to play like tards. One of the reasons I enjoy coop so much is there isn't much motivation to try to be Leroy "Look-at-me" Jenkins, but persistent stats might change that. In my experience it discourages people from working as a team and going for objectives, encourages Rambo wannabes and 420LeetSniperYOLONoScope69. If PVP or Wasteland servers wanted to run a stats mod I would understand, but I don't see a reason to tie it in to the full game and all servers.

I believe it's a known issue that Bohemia has acknowledged and said they are working with Nvidia to fix. I've tried everything (uninstalling drivers, updating drivers, PhysX on CPU, blah blah blah) and haven't been able to impact the crash at all. Here's hoping it's fixed in the beta build.

Fps is almost too low for me to play this game
Fuse replied to SquattingDuck's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
I'm not an AMD user so forgive me if this is a flawed train of thought, but I see the OP talking about the GPU being in crossfire with the integrated graphics. Would this not cause a huge problem for a game like Arma that is so CPU dependent? My thought is to try disabling crossfire and integrated graphics processing, see if that helps. -
So you have a water-cooled machine running a CPU that literally costs as much as my entire PC... And the CPU is running at the stock clock? Fix that and you should see noticeable framerate gains. My i5 2500k @ 4.8GHz has out-benched some much more expensive machines because they weren't overclocked.

Why was ARMA 3 supporter not on Steam?
Fuse replied to thryckz's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
I believe Steam takes a 30% cut (IIRC, don't remember for sure) if you buy from their store. Bohemia probably thought that $30 going straight in to Steam's coffers for their "supporter edition" would have been disingenuous, and I'd agree. -
Serious injuries (graphic) - gore/violence
Fuse replied to Michaelp800's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
No one here is arguing that. Only politicians are that stupid. As for VBS and Arma 3, it's never as simple as taking code from one team and slapping it in your engine. Never. At least not if you want it to work well. -
when will we see nividia helping to optimize arma 3?

Key binding complexity, is that an issue?
Fuse replied to tortuosit's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
I actually thought A3's controls were pretty good. Much better and easier to work with than A2. My friend just played A3 for the first time last week and we only had to rebind a few commands. -
In the future apparently human beings are not subject to inertia or weight.

I should just read this thread instead of watching a morning show. Equally as inane and entertaining. :) -
Off topic, but you should definitely check out LCDSirReal for your G13 if you haven't already. Thanks to that one plugin I'm completely hooked on Logitech's gamepanel display. While playing I can see my CPU & GPU use & temp, RAM, Net in/out, & FPS (and most of those can be replaced by a dozen other options); and I don't have to have a whole second screen sucking power to do it. By far the best part of owning one of the gamepanel devices from Logitech IMHO.

+1 for a near-future variant of the Trijicon RMR or Leupold DeltaPoint on pistols.

I don't mean learning ACRE is a huge hurdle, just that it's slightly more complicated. The main issues I have with it are the time (and likely money to license Teamspeak) Bohemia will have to invest and the requirement of a Teamspeak server. If the new version doesn't require Teamspeak then it would help a lot in changing my mind, but I hadn't hear that until reading this thread.

Serious injuries (graphic) - gore/violence
Fuse replied to Michaelp800's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
I wouldn't mind them, but I don't really see what they add to Arma. I love blowing the guys dick off in Soldier of Fortune or watching the enemy in Quake and Unreal turn in to a crimson cloud of gibs; but it's just there to look cool/funny, it doesn't add anything to the gameplay. The current blood effect does the job of showing if you're injured just fine, so I honestly don't think I would pay additional gore any attention what so ever. Basically I think this should be left to modders while Bohemia work on things that have an impact on the game. Unfortunately the only impact I really see this having is lowering performance further and possibly getting it banned from a few countries. (Thanks, benign fascism!) And trust me, I really enjoy gore in games, I just don't see the need to add it to vanilla in this particular type of game. -
ACRE would be overkill for a large portion of the playerbase. The players who do want ACRE are serious Arma players and thus willing and capable of installing the mod themselves, so not including it in Arma 3 is a minor inconvenience. Including it, on the other hand, would make the game more complicated to learn (not always a bad thing, but unnecessary complications should be avoided) and require a lot of extra work from the devs.

*SUGGESTION* Explosive Satchels too high up on the Menu, Please fix!!
Fuse replied to Mechwarrior0311's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Personally I think anything I can directly bind to a key belongs as far down the action menu as possible. And they say you can't please everyone. haha -
What is fundamentally wrong with the underwater combat?
Fuse replied to Tonci87's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Ugh, yes please! Most games make your avatar stand up as soon as his toes can touch bottom. You should be able to swim in like two feet of water if you want to, especially in Arma. Standing up in the middle of a battle because you swam over a slight rise in the sand is pretty unpleasant. -
Aspect ratio 21:9 for Ultrawide monitors
Fuse replied to Forrest's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Not sure why you left in all the bits where your friend sounds like a jerk, but whatever. :) My question: what's wrong with NewEgg? I've had nothing but good experiences with them and the quoted post sounds like a complaint about LG. -
With the trade-off being that you need more anti-aliasing to make the image look smooth and you'll have anywhere from 10-100 times more input lag. Some people will notice the lag more, some games will be hurt more by it than others. Since most people play Arma at lower framerates than the average twitch-based shooter the lag probably won't be a big issue, but you'll want to keep it in mind if you plan on playing other types of games. I can happily game on a projector at 20ms, but when you get in the 100ms range it becomes painfully noticeable in most titles, at least for me. It's pretty much never mentioned in the specs or average review (partially due to how much things other than the projector factor in) so be sure you do a lot of research on enthusiast forums.

Simulating bullets that are no longer dangerous seems like the opposite of what Arma 3 needs right now. :p -
