ACE3 - A collaborative merger between AGM, CSE, and ACE
BadHabitz replied to acemod's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Is there a way to disable G-forces without removing the pbo? You get an error when simply removing the pbo -
Adding keybinds to action menu items
BadHabitz posted a topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS - CONFIGS & SCRIPTING
Ok, I completely suck when it comes to scripting. I might be better at reading ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics, and I can't do that at all. The problem I have is that there are some functions I'd like to use in game when I'm flying helicopters, without having to use my mouse. I want keybinds that I can map to my HOTAS setup. What I'm trying to do is make a mod that associates 'collision lights on/collision lights off' to a keybind. I'd also like a keybind for turning on/off interior red lights. Doesn't matter to me if I have to use CBA and Configure Addons, or just the Custom controls in the Configure menu. I've looked at the following links and can't make heads/tails of it, but I have been trying to figure it out. http://dev.withsix.com/projects/cca/wiki/Keybinding https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/inputAction https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/inputAction/actions https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/inputAction/actions/bindings So if anyone can help, or try to mentor me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks -
Is there a way to set my frequencies in advance? Maybe in userconfig? If not, is it something that could be added? I see that it can be altered by a script placed in the mission, altered for everyone, but I should be able to do it for just myself somehow. Also, is there any plan to add channel titles to the GUI that pops up on the bottom right corner when you transmit? So when you transmit, in addition to displaying the frequency, it might also have a label like "Tactical Air Control"?

The next version will have everything set up so that you have 3 options: Use just vanilla weapons = delete weapons pbo Use included M4/M249 = use weapons pbo Use replacement pbo for popular weapons mods = delete weapons pbo, move replacement pbo to addons folder.

The Struggle - Enter-able Buildings Vs. Non/Partly-Enter-able Buildings
BadHabitz replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Should have a poll on this thread. "Empty and open/Empty and partially open" vs "Closed/Partially open and furnished". -
ASDG - Mk. V SOC (WIP)
BadHabitz replied to Hatchet_AS's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
It's a shame this isn't being actively worked on. Would have liked to have seen it get transferred to someone else. Looks beautiful, and would seriously fill a need of the community. -
Satellite view (SATCOM) for ARMA 3

I feel like this would work better if it was in an addon, used with a tablet or something of the like. -
The Struggle - Enter-able Buildings Vs. Non/Partly-Enter-able Buildings
BadHabitz replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
So you're saying the solution to not being able to furnish interiors is to provide no interior at all? Sounds like the option of every building being empty but enterable would be the preferred option. I'd like to see a poll. What I get from the SITREP and dev comments is that they don't have enough resources; which means they don't have enough people versus the time they have left, in relation to the amount of work that needs to be done. Discussing performance appears to be the fall back option when it comes to arguments, because given the condition the game is in, discussion of performance issues isn't unbelievable in any circumstance. -

BadHabitz replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
My experience runs counter to that. A building that is not enterable is just a large block with a pretty texture on it. It might as well be a boulder on the hill. If we're searching a town or a village to rescue someone, or trying to achieve whatever goal is in our way, it's asinine to say we'd just skip a building because 'the door was locked'. Sounds to me like being able to enter all buildings is just fine for our tech. Altis does it just fine, and most attempts to blame it on performance are met by a little pushback from the devs. It's about manpower and the schedule they've imposed on themselves. I give them credit for trying, since they're recruiting freelance modelers, but let's not cloud this issue by explaining it away with some reason that's not the overwhelming truth. Stratis and Altis are examples where almost every structure can be entered, and that was one of the selling points of A3. If we have to take a step back from that in the expansion due to BI not having the resources to push out a completed project, then I hope they plan to offer the expansion at a reduced cost. People shouldn't have to pay 100% for 75% of a product. -
Yes. And there's no way that I know of to disable that. And I haven't seen any other mod that does that.

US Naval Warfare Pack [WIP]
BadHabitz replied to Foxone's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Like I said. USMC Prowlers are land-based, but they still do make carrier landings occasionally, and are not assigned to carrier air wings.- 744 replies

"\AMCU\Mod\data\AMCU CUTS.paa" There's a space in your file path. That's a no-no. Make sure the file has an underscore instead of a space, and correct the file path to match.

US Naval Warfare Pack [WIP]
BadHabitz replied to Foxone's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
USMC only assigns VMFA's to CVW's. Marine EA-6B's are still equipped to land on carriers, and do so from time to time, but they are not normally assigned as part of a CVW. VMFA's don't need USMC EW assets when they're assigned to carriers, because the Navy takes care of that.- 744 replies

The Struggle - Enter-able Buildings Vs. Non/Partly-Enter-able Buildings
BadHabitz replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Yes, Stratis and Altis do have a strange feel because of the empty buildings. If it's because of a trade-off for performance, then it's the right call to make. I think most agree that we'd rather have empty buildings than non-enterable buildings. I wouldn't mind large buildings with most of the interior being closed off. As long as most of the first floor is open and there's a means to access the roof, then that would be acceptable. Small houses and buildings must be fully enterable. To not have that would kill the immersion that this game builds. When we approach a village or town, we know that our targets or goals are in one of those buildings. Each building feels like an important part of the environment. Having buildings that can not be entered feels like they're just props... "We don't need to search that house, it doesn't have any real doors". -
They're not going to tell us about future sales. As far as guessing goes, you never know when a random sale is going to happen. I think it's all but certain that you'll see a sale for the 2015 holidays, and probably again when the expansion hits in 2016. The best thing to do is make sure you put the game in your Steam Wish List and make sure it's set up to send you an email when an item from your list is on sale or reduces in price.

Sounds like you also need to turn up your settings. From what I understand, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the CPU is the biggest determining factor of A3 performance. At low settings, the game doesn't push off much of the graphics functions to the GPU. If you turn up the settings then the CPU gives some of the graphics tasks to the GPU.

If you're not using the units then it might be ok. You can always try it and see what happens.

Good good. I'll wait some time before I update the download. Need to see if other errors pop up from the current revision.
-
I don't see this error, and I don't really have an exact idea where it might be coming from. But I have a theory. Download this zip and overwrite the files you already have. Or you can just move them temporarily. If that doesn't fix it then I'm really not sure. Let me know.

Where is the fancy Supporter Ribbon that I paid money for?

I'll avoid the long story I was going to type. Your question pointed out an oversight of mine when I initially created the replacement pbo's. I will be updating them all, but I'll let you have a corrected version of the RHS replacement for now. This link should work for you. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-cL7wGSKMCqT05TV1Q4QlVfeHc/view?usp=sharing This is not to be considered a release update. I will release all updated replacement pbo's when I release the next revision of the entire PG Services mod.
-
Current version is 1.48If you can update and try again, please let me know the result.

That looks sexy
-
I'll look into it. My first reaction is to ask you which other mods you may be running, and try running those mods without PG Services and see if you're getting the same errors. Either way, I'll see if I get the same problems in the morning.
