    It's not realistic to have soldier jump. This is why it does not exist in game. And why this read has been dead fir so long. But mods and scripts allow for a jumping feature.

    Yes, but the CTI servers could modify it via script to change it. This mod seems to made more Milsim communities so I doubt they'd reduce it for the few domination or CTI servers that would use it.

    Wishing it was some realistic lightning for the weather instead off just having lighting as a visual effect, but it's likely some way of using Battlefield "Levelution" stuff. :( The player is not even affected by the brightness of the lightning realistically...

    This is exactly the same as people asking for the Physx to be offloaded to their Nvidia cards. BI hasn't shown interest in doing things for one specific card company yet.

    The AAF Tank is freaking amazing!

    The AAF tank is the first tank that actually got the correct 7.62mm and 12.7mm weapons. Only they messed up because the gunner should have access to a 12.7mm and 7.62mm with a commander and loader with access to 7.62mm machine guns. But all in all these tanks are a downgrade from Arma 2. They have the wrong calibers, lack addition loader weapons and lack commander weapons.

    There was not enough room to have proper aircraft combat. Or proper naval combat.
  9. If we get it changed back, I think it would become even more unlikely to get a better flight model. Because BI would think "It worked in past Arma games, so why change it?"

    I do not think you understand. The size is for aircraft. The conflict could take part on a relatively small portion of the map. BI wouldn't have to use the max size either. But the. Engine should allow modders to make their terrains 10000x10000km. No one forces anyone to use an entire terrain either. With that and a proper fixed wing model, I could see flight sim modding groups show up. ---------- Post added at 06:12 ---------- Previous post was at 06:07 ---------- Another direction for Arma 4 that would be amazing and bring back a lot of Arma 2 fans would be a modern portrayal of a military force going into Africa to stop some rebel group or militia. The militia/African group would have a ton of equipment and vehicles from the world wars and the military force would have all the modern standard equipment. Would bring back some nice asymmetric warfare. I could see it now: "Arma 4 African conflict" The story would be something like "A large militia group has overrun the government of the country and has begun to commit genocides and other war crimes against the people of the country. Japanese biological weapons from WW2 has been found in the countries surrounding the country in conflict. More biological weapons are suspected to be in the hands of the militia group." This would be realistic like ACE and would feature the outside military as very powerful though the war would begin off as an easy win until the biological weapons are used. This starts a chain of events that turns the battle into one of the bloodiest wars of all time because of an enemy who does not care about civilians or the rest of the world. The militia could have even got ahold of a nuclear bomb that slipped away from some country with no one noticing until it was too late. They could also leave out the biological and nuclear weapons and just feature the militia using weapons on anyone they can. And just having the militia be incredibly ruthless and sadistic. Would be a other way to have something new but be fighting the bad guys who use guerrilla tactics. ---------- Post added at 06:31 ---------- Previous post was at 06:12 ---------- Or we could go for combat like what is occurring in Syria right now. Urban conflict with fully %100 destructible building a and millions of places for people to hide and shoot you from.
  12. You are right about that, but it definitely kills immersion when you see a large chunk of something fly into/onto a soldier and just bounce off.

    VBS2/3 Discussion thread - the one and only

    Comparing by how realistic they are. For example Arma 2 with ACE is more realistic than VBS2. They are two different types of software as you said, but who really cares if people compare them like this? The comparison is just for fun. :)
  14. Thank you for this information. Would it be possible though for you guys to release a list of proxy names and memory point names with locations on each model? This would really help out modifications and scripting.
  15. If your having problems with detail, you could use proxies to give them basically unlimited detail.
  16. That doesn't mean modders always have to do things because "The game takes place in future".     Have you found a way to dynamically affect the planes landing and take off distance from weight? (Bug fan of the STOL capabilities of the applicable aircraft) And have you found a way to allow for reverse thrust on the applicable aircraft?

    It does but the vehicles and equipment used is not futuristic. The story line indicates they lacked funds to do things which could include new technology. So please, non of the it's the future so it should act like they made a new version that looked exactly the same as existing technology and made it better. ---------- Post added at 05:23 ---------- Previous post was at 05:22 ---------- By giving Opfor proper body Armor like NATO, they won't feel like super soldiers with a bullet resistant suit as much, because bullets can affect them realistically and can kill them easier. Giving the player a better experience and making the game more realistic.
  20. My mistake then. I remembered that it was fixed a while back but the way Arma does the coordinates confused me.
  21. Waiting for BI to change things will never get anywhere because there is no pressure to do so. Also scripted solutions are not out the question either...

    Will be interesting to see the Arma 3 to VBS3 comparison. For Arma 2 it was basically: Unmodified Arma 2 < VBS2 Modded Arma 2 > VBS2 So for Arma 3 the comparison would be something like: Unmodified Arma 3 ? Unmodified VBS3 Modified Arma 3 ? Unmodified VBS3 Modified Arma 3 ? Modified VBS3 Unmodified Arma 3 ? Modified VBS3
